Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Engel coming back right now is about the best thing that could happen to help with this problem in the short term. If he's iffy or suffers a setback, then like it or not - we need to find someone who can play CF. It's probably not worth acquiring someone who can't.

How do you deal with a grade 3 injury/tear on this muscle?

ptatc said that this injury is extremely painful.

5/2 Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland 1:10 PM
Well yeah, but this lineup also has guys like Jiminez, Anderson, and Eaton in it who are regularly injured, and a couple other guys who are in their 30s and have had a few nagging things (Abreu, Grandal). Those things were always going to happen. The same conversation happens about the Yankees every year with Judge and Stanton.

The issue is that the schedule is about to get tougher. The time you wanted to rack up 18 wins was in April when you had Detroit, Texas, Seattle on the list.

That happens when you have several against the Tigers, Rangers, and Mariners.

Im sure this won’t happen, but assuming Lucas goes out for the 6th, it would be smart to have someone warm in the bullpen after that 5th.

If something had been broken in there it could have been his season, or even career damaging.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
Probably something like that. Our resident sports physician in the game thread suggested it was consistent with a hip flexor injury, which is probably mid June to July depending on severity?

It’s going to be Hamilton, Garcia, and Engel if he ever comes back.

How painful is that injury?

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
In the first inning on May 2, Robert hit a ground ball to 3rd and stumbled just before reaching 1b. He fell behind the base and clearly was in severe pain from his right leg. He was carried off the field putting no weight on that leg whatsoever. When you see an update, please post in here.

He was holding higher, that didn’t look like the knee to me.
