  1. You know how Gio doesn't destroy people with stuff the way Bieber does, but he just works guys over and occasionally makes them look quite bad on the change? That's been about where he's been today. Not the greatest command, the Twins have helped him a little by swinging early.
  2. Stone: "The Twins don't shift all that often" The Twins: 9th most overshifts in baseball. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/visuals/team-positioning
  3. That was a solid pitch.
  4. He'll re-sign with the White Sox in November for a raise.
  5. 3rd fewest IF overshifts in baseball for the White Sox. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/visuals/team-positioning
  6. Are any of you hispanic?
  7. That would not be good advice unless something else had happened behind the scenes way worse than this. These people are playing for contracts and their careers. The manager being a jerkass isn’t worth hurting your own career with something like that.
  8. "and that's the 8th straight pitch Lucas Giolito has accidentally thrown into the White Sox's dugout. What could be wrong with him?"
  9. For reference, I don't like the Twins and their manager throwing behind a player for that one bit.
  10. And all the Twins fans cracking up in their stadium because their position player was getting outs on 50 mph eephus pitches know that the White Sox's manager has no marbles.
  11. Here’s a 1998 White Sox Cardinals game that started 7-0 Cards and ended 10-8 Sox. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA199806100.shtml#event_85
  12. Here’s the box scores from That series, game 1 was 20-1 and ended 20-6, game 2 was also a blowout and game 3 was 1-0. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA200606200.shtml
  13. Just think, within the next 2 weeks there will probably be something else that will add 10-20 pages to this thread and there’s literally no way to guess what it will be! In game decision? Clubhouse issue? Racism? Crime? The possibilities are endless!
  14. And they still threw behind him.
  15. “I have to take a week to prepare for and complete a job interview. Maybe I can just watch some baseball at night without the manager trending.” LaRussa:
  16. Wasn't one of ptatc's notes that a tear that is in the middle of the muscle might be the worst for long-term issues?
  17. If you know them, you are in a better position to supply alternative information than I am or anyone else in government or science is. In case you haven't seen this...
  18. Cleaned up the dates. For reference, here is the April 13 box score where Bieber pitched. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA202104130.shtml
  19. The date that posts appeared in this thread, so those might all be 1 calendar day late/talking about the night before game. Will get that fixed tonight.
  20. No, that's not possible, because they didn't interview people to actually find out.
  21. More important than the person was the process. Little Ricky said this himself - he wanted to go outside the organization, talk to a number of people, and evaluate his next coach while also learning about where managers though his team and the game would go. That would have been exactly the right process - some candidate or candidates would inevitably be the best. Maybe Bochy. Maybe Hinch. Maybe Hinch meets with the team and finds Detroit a better fit. Maybe it's someone completely unexpected. At this point though, we can safely say it wouldn't have been LaRussa in a fair competition - because we've seen him in action.
  22. Yeah, If Nightengale says its not happening, that's basically direct from JR.
  23. Managers that are hated in New York? Of course. The Knicks and Jets are there. Exactly the kind of teams we want to be compared to.
