  1. Yeah but the Supreme Court is still there. They're going to overturn the Affordable Care Act on a lawsuit that is completely meritless, but gives them a chance to do what they want. In October, Kavanaugh already wrote a (non-binding) opinion that lost in a Wisconsin election case saying that Americans should know the winner on election day and any counts that come in afterwards should not count as they reduce confidence in the result. That was before the last justice was added.
  2. I mean, I don't know what their process is for "uncalling" a state so I get why that would have a high standard as that's a pretty important thing to say, but this one was clearly way too close to have been called.
  3. That was more narrow than the last batch by a lot, and less than Trump needs (59%). That said, i still have no idea what makes the AP and company so confident that they've held their calls for the last 3 days in that state.
  4. That's being stated based on exit polls. You can't connect ballots to demographics without knowing what's on them.
  5. I'll give you the other one - when are people going to learn just to assume the worst here?
  6. Got my first nasal swab today for surveillance testing at new job. Once a week for the foreseeable future.
  7. The margin in those 3 states was so narrow that the Russian influence and the media's coverage of it easily made a difference, just like a number of factors. I mean, the Comey letter definitely mattered that much also. The voter suppression efforts easily made a difference. Take away any of those things and the election is frighteningly narrow but Trump loses.
  8. No, but they care whether the person next to you is wearing a mask and social distancing. Can you name one prominent Republican discouraging those things? I'll give you a hint, he hosted an event that produced >40 cases in early October. At the White House.
  9. The steady drumbeat of leaked emails was an entire free campaign handed to his party and the press just fell for every single story about it for weeks. For 80,000 votes spread among 3 states? Easy.
  10. Lots of travel, particularly coming from Italy. Denser populations. No one knew how to respond correctly because the government wasn't giving the correct information that they had. Now, everyone knows how to respond, but one person is telling people not to follow those rules, and conservative counties are following him.
  11. Hiring Tony LaRussa against the wishes of the front office without conducting a full interview even with him let alone anyone else and then LaRussa taking no steps to reach out to the local press or his players.
  12. Well, yes. That's the why they have the most cases right now.
  13. As long as someone stops him from calling for violence.
  14. Just for reference, Biden is going to win Pennsylvania handily in the final count. There's enough votes in Philadelphia county alone to tie that state up.
  15. I’d say 2 runoffs seem all but certain.
  16. Biden is at 264 counting Arizona, so how does he get to 269?
  17. When I posted this, Biden needed 68% of the remaining estimated number of votes. As of right now, Biden needs about 65% of the remaining votes, with just under 150,000 to count. Margin now is 46,000. In other words...Biden was ahead of that pace for the last 85,000 ballots. At that pace, he wins Georgia tonight.
  18. Ok someone tell me how I'm reading too much between the lines in this Passan piece. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/30250219/jeff-passan-mlb-offseason-preview-20-uniquely-2020-hot-stove-questions Is there any logical reason why the White Sox wouldn't be on his list of teams who might spend? They obviously have a lower payroll than last year as of right now, so they should be on a list of teams who might spend unless someone has specifically said something. And how many other teams could have been in a much higher range, but then could even have the ability to get down to $100m this offseason?
  19. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/11/03/covid-coronavirus-updates-2/
  20. I mean, there are disadvantages to the states running their own elections, but this week I’m glad they’re not in Bill Barr’s hands.
  21. It really doesn’t. The vaccine may not last for years without boosters, but we will have a number of them in production next year.
  22. Apparently Trubisky played one snap Sunday, ran for 3 yards, and hurt his shoulder in the process.
  23. However 32 states have some sort of law that is valid according to that decision, including all the ones we are talking about now.
  24. If the current mail ballot percentages hold he wins both by about 20k. Will that be true? Dunno. Lots of other provisional and absentee ballots to count in PA cities too.
