2 more years of playing on this contract, maybe even playing longer if He has a Cruz like end, 5 years before he’s HOF eligible, 10 years before minimum eligibility for veterans committee votes, then maybe another year or two before they could vote on him under current rules? 106 year old Reinsdorf trying to justify how he only won one title despite owning the club for 60 years? Maybe, but might not be walking that well.

Who cares. We are better than that grim era and it is gone.

The situation makes this extremely difficult. if Vaughn had a full year at AA and dominated, he would be a top 10 prospect in baseball despite his position limits. He easily could have done that, but we don’t know for sure because of the lack of minors. The White Sox shouldn’t trade him unless someone trades for him with that level of value, but because no one saw him this year no team should pay that. So, moving him should require the White Sox to sell low, or at least below where he would have been valued without this virus or with a better government. They shouldn’t do that, but that’s the only thing they can do if they want to move him.

Do either of them actually have twitter accounts? I don’t know of them if they do.

If you started assuming the worst about this org the second Renteria was fired, no one would have believed you and you’d have been right every time. Find the worst candidate who makes sense with TLDR and he will be the one they hire. -

Frankly, they already demoted him. I don’t know why he doesn’t leave. There’s “loyalty” and then there’s this. If they didn’t fire him after the first 4 years, they shouldn’t have given him 3 more years and then brought in someone who supersedes him just as things are improving. I don’t know how things are internally with this org other than the public freak show, but if I was in that spot, I’m running either the Phillies or Mets next year. -
What’s terrifying is that he could have won by 5 million votes and still lost. And in 2024, that will just grow.
-
So, I will have no problem if Nick Madrigal does that, but there’s a few things to note. Carew had nearly a 10% BB rate that year, Madrigal last year was under 4%. Madrigal last year, also a below average fielder and seriously bad base runner. At the very least, if he’s going to be a 5 WAR player, he has a long way to go on those key qualities.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the original organist who popularized this song, long time White Sox organist Ms. Nancy Faust. Sing it with us.

How much does it matter if a couple senators, such as Cornyn, publicly say they're for something like DACA, but then they support Mitch McConnell and McConnell prevents a vote on any bills that would end it? You're giving them credit for things they're saying publicly when they're actively taking steps that prevent those things from happening.
-
He explained it personally in 2010. He would destroy the entire senate it if helped make Obama a 1 term president. Under the Senate Rules, the Majority Leader decides what bills are taken up, sent to committee, and brought to the floor for votes. The only way to change those rules is to have a different majority in charge, and even then it's tough. He got his reward - 25% of the total judge spots in the government were filled in the last 4 years, including 33% of the Supreme Court, because he shut down the judicial system rather than let a Democrat fill the seats. It has been extremely effective, and he's rewarded handsomely for it.
-
Just think of this - if Mitch McConnell says there will be none of that, the Affordable Care Act is launched by the Supreme Court and 20 million people lose health insurance, and bills that would pass the senate if he allowed votes continue to languish, will you blame Mitch alone and become more radical and one sided in your anger, or will you blame both sides for not coming together? Because if one person can stop everything and in the process you blame his opposition, his work will have been extremely effective. we have seen this before.

He won't. That was Renteria's problem. He'll take offense when other guys do the same things our guys do, and when he throws balls at those guys, that will make our own team a target for retaliation, justly. And that will leave the locker room wondering what the hell they're allowed to do.

3 straight records! We got this folks, we can fill every hospital bed by the time people get together for Thanksgiving!

What did Dallas Keuchel get? 3/$55, more than what you just gave to Stroman. And what happened when he had the QO? He had to sit out half the season because no one signed him. He lost millions by not accepting. And that wasn’t in this pandemic mess.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he declines it but I think it’s a mistake to do so.

Then. He. Should. Leave. If he is constantly overruled by the coach, he’s not the general manager: he’s an assistant GM. He was just demoted. Go to the Mets.
