So the Broncos hired an egomaniac and the Bears sent them 2 first rounders, then the Raiders hired one and the Bears sent them 2 first rounders. I have no point with this just found it fascinating.

I'd be willing to bet that there's a majority of MLB Players who have not yet passed that 6 year limit, so I think it's going to be important across the entire union, and the more that single cases make a big deal of this then I'd guess the more the players who have already passed 6 years will realize that this is something they need to support being fixed.

I don't think it would make me happy for the Sox to get sanctioned for this, but I kinda hope the harder the players hit on this now the more the owners will understand "we have to have a better way to do this" going into the next CBA. Maybe we can get some of these fights fought now, and have both sides ready to make a deal so we can avoid a strike over this.

Democrats are, correctly, basically killing off "Superdelegates" for their convention in 2020. They'll set it so they only vote if the convention goes to a 2nd round of voting, so it will be impossible for superdelegates to actually stop a majority candidate.

I think there's becoming a greater realization of this...but also when you're talking about 16 year old kids they're going to make mistakes. It's ok to judge things based on what they said, how other people around them react when those mistakes are revealed, and how they respond to it too. Kopech seems to have dealt with it as needed, apologized, and so I think it's ok to move on.

However, it was after any of the crimes were committed. A pardon is not a license to do things in the future.

Mike Pence was busy at NASA JSC saying that if Obama hadn't cancelled the Constellation Program we'd be back on the Moon by now (we wouldn't) and how they have the budget to go to the Moon and Mars (they don't, they have basically the same budget as the last few years of the Obama admin). You cannot issue a blanket pardon for crimes that a person hasn't committed yet, that's not a pardon it's a license to commit a future crime. He would have to issue a pardon every single time.

Nope. If Manafort is Pardoned, then he no longer has the 5th amendment to protect him against the right of self-incrimination. He can therefore be subpoenaed and compelled to testify to anything he knows relevant to that investigation. He cannot refuse to answer questions without being found in Contempt of Court and sent back to prison. If he is pardoned, he will have to tell Mueller everything he knows. He cannot be preemptively pardoned, so he would have to be sent back to jail and found in contempt again before Trump could pardon him for that. Once Trump then pardons him for contempt charges, he could again be compelled to testify and if he refused to testify - again in contempt and back to jail, continuing the cycle. I would almost pay to see it, honestly. The President engaging in a coverup by pardoning the person who is compelled to testify against him over and over and over and over and Manafort constantly staying in prison for it.
