  1. also a note worth keeping track of, which may apply to everyone other than relief pitchers:
  2. The 2013 White Sox and their theme song in the field seem to disagree.
  3. They don't have to win the world series next year, but if this team isn't substantially better next season than this year then you start thinking that the org is still doing something significantly wrong. Guys like Giolito and Moncada struggling some...that was to be expected. We're seeing some growth out of the bullpen already, we're seeing Lopez gradually figure out how to deal with teams, these guys should be getting better next year, and more are still on the way (so far without being hugely rushed too, which is nice). Yes Abreu is going the wrong way and that hurts some, but if this team is in the discussion of worst team in the league again next year, then it's worth asking what Rick did wrong to wind up with so many guys who aren't taking steps forward.
  4. But they both also voted to confirm Gorsuch.
  5. Do we actually know that they are not?
  6. They showed up for Trump's tax cut, they showed up for the last justice, they'll show up for this one.
  7. Why would they? He's their party. They support him.
  8. I've never seen a White Sox team as well managed as the 2012 White Sox. He took a sub-.500 team and put them into the pennant race. Robin Ventura deserved praise for that. I've never seen a White Sox team as poorly managed as the 2013 White Sox.
  9. They'll play the game of "I'm not going to specifically ask about this case" and sign off on almost anyone on Trump's list, and the guys on that list are there because they will overturn Roe. That's the end result of the last election.
  10. I don't think anyone would honestly offer that for him, but that's the price for his arb status and current performance. If no one offers that, yay he's here more years. No downside.
  11. I'm totally ok with sending Yolmer to a contender, but some team is going to have to pay decently for him because he was a 2 WAR player last year and is on pace for a 3 WAR player this year. For a guy with 3 more arbitration seasons remaining, that's not cheap. A 2-3 WAR player with 3 more arbitration years, we're talking like a top 75 prospect as the main return, maybe better.
  12. Does the ownership group of the Bulls/Sox still own part of the network or did that arrangement end when it was no longer Comcast?
  13. I was thinking Rodon might be off tomorrow but now I'm totally expecting like 6 innings 1 hit.
  14. Yeesh. I'm the one who said that yes you do need to talk to them, but this is also why you don't give them anything until you have a robust inspections regime. This is pretty harsh.
  15. Well that was a useful post, at least it drew out both perspectives. Thanks guys!
  16. If you knew the Bulls had a strong shot at the #1 pick would you still do this? I know the lottery is getting leveled next year, it just seems surprising to me that you'd pass on a potential #1 pick for him.
  17. Technically he never left the DL but they're deactivating him again from his rehab assignment, which will restart his (up to) 30 day rehab assignment if he's ever reactivated.
  18. They'd move him if it gave them a strong shot at a superteam and wouldn't think twice, regardless of who his family is. They might have a legit shot if the Spurs are willing to deal.
  19. I would move Dunn for Ball quite readily even if Dunn is a better player right now. I can't see any way that Lavine works into that equation.
  20. Gonzalez pitched on Sunday, so he'd have been up today on normal rest, right? Was he listed as the starter tonight? If he's unable to go they need a spot starter.
  21. Per tweet I shared in other thread, Gonzalez may have had a rehab setback.
