  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 05:28 PM) Surprised we're hiding Delmonico from lefties when he hits them basically the same as he does righties Game 1, 4 run lead, late in the game defensive style replacement, and gives another guy a chance to get into the season. Wouldn't surprise me to see the other 2 guys on the bench appear in the 9th for the same reason.
  2. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 05:24 PM) from a quick glance it looks like he's quicker to the ball. I really liked how balanced his head was, so if last year in order to get after balls he was diving more out after them, and now he's holding back and letting his hands and hips do more of the work, that would fit.
  3. I can't find a perfect video of him from the side last year but I'm impressed at how well balanced Davidson's swing looks when you see those HR from the side view. I wonder if there's real improvement on that swing form for him.
  4. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:54 PM) Check that, now we’re on pace for 800 HRs! Eat S*** Judge and Stanton
  5. Can I go edit my HR prediction on Anderson? He's already like 20% of the way to proving me wrong.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:44 PM) This team has some sneaky good power. Everyone but Yolmer can go yard 15+ times a year. There goes Davidson again!! Yolmer hit 12 home runs in 484 PAs last year.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:37 PM) I'd rather see him swinging at pitches slightly out of the zone, versus taking close pitches. He has such amazing physical tools, use them. One of his amazing tools is his eye, he knows exactly what is going to get called. With time, by being patient with anything that is going to miss, teams will have to choose between pitching to him and walking him. I think the key for him is working on hammering pitches in the zone, because he knows when they're coming.
  8. Well then. Shame on you Delmonico I guess?
  9. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:14 PM) I live in Texas now! How the .....?
  10. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:13 PM) This, but yea I was mostly tuned into local coverage. Um, move?
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:12 PM) Just gonna throw this out there, i'm not sure losing the first four innings of opening day with james shields on the mound in kansas city is a doomsday indicator. Just gonna throw this out - this team isn't going to finish well over .500 when James Shields is on the mound opening day. Even if that bullpen magically is great or something like that.
  12. Always enjoy seeing the guy on Gameday with the 5.000 OPS.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:04 PM) Was there any fluff outside of Chicago about the current team? There's a reason Vegas hates the team. There were a lot of version of "Best case/worst case" for each team where they said "This team is young and if a lot of things break right they could push .500" as the best case. I think the baseball world knows how much talent there is here, but they also know it needs time.
  14. QUOTE (soulfly @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 03:43 PM) There was never a reason to trade for him in the first place. What the front office was thinking, I have no idea. Hot garbage doesn't even deserve to have his name attached to it. It was desperation. It was a team that jumped out to a 10 games over .500 start, management convinced themselves "yay we did great!", then all of a sudden they were no longer in 1st place and on a losing streak. They saw that Detroit was after pitching and said "we have to beat them to it", so they threw in a AAA player with some value and a rookie-ball player none of them had scouted. It had to get done right then because we had to save the season and beat Detroit to the punch. That was the same week they called up Anderson to take over for Rollins even though he wasn't ready, because we had to save that 2016 team's shot at its title.
  15. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 03:41 PM) Santiago should end up in the rotation before long unless they bring Kopech up early. I think Rodon first.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 03:32 PM) Worst trade in Sox history? I think most of your "worst ____ in history" statements are obvious exaggerations. In a year or two, this one could darn well be right.
  17. Good morning, good afternoon, good night to Moncada.
  18. Any of them who will sign whenever they will sign. Moncada, I seriously doubt he would sign. Ditto Robert. Dudes already have made what, $30 million in signing bonuses each? So the next $20 million guaranteed isn't a big deal to either of them compared to the 9 figure free agent deal down the line? I'd pay Eloy right now. I'd probably pay the pitchers in the bigs right now if they were willing.
  19. @CST_soxvan GM Rick Hahn said Carlos Rodon 'actually moved up the schedule a few days based on how he was feeling.' A late May return is not out of the question, he said. Rodon has graduated to throwing sliders in bullpens. Up to 30-35 pitches in last.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 01:19 PM) What is the weird symbol you keep typing? Something is wrong with him copying and pasting the apostrophe' from whatever font he's originally seeing the quoted text in, all of those used to be apostrophe's (sic).
