  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2017 -> 08:27 PM) Would Trump dare fire Rosenstein...? That's the first thought that came to mind. It's also going to be interesting to see what Trump does from abroad via Twitter and press conferences, especially if Comey testifies to Congress next week. The Donald probably won't sleep at all, absorbing the FOX NEWS coverage from abroad (hope he only has access to BBC or CNN, lol) due to the time zone difference and not wanting to miss any of the latest developments in DC. I am expecting a Saturday Night Massacre at some point still.
  2. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 17, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) my mommy always just made a boo boo bunny with a wash cloth for those things... "You like this"
  3. Someone kiss that thumb to make it better. Someone hire Jesus and have him wave his hands over it. Whatever.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 17, 2017 -> 05:19 PM) Knifes are out. Mueller had to be high up on worst case scenario appointments. Wonder if Rod Rosenstein will make it through the week. Dude it's Knives. I can respect this. If they did not break the law then I will have some confidence in him making statements that they didn't break the law. If they did what they did, then this will have confidence of enough congressional Republicans to be potentially helpful to the country. Per TPM Rosenstein announced this like 10 minutes before the evening news so that the administration would have no time to respond. That's a guy trying to salvage a reputation he realizes he threw in the trash last week.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2017 -> 04:41 PM) I guess today's discussion proves I'm not a Republican. I guess I need to start calling myself an Independent. Frankly I haven't done that or considered that mainly because of this board. I think most considered me Republican. I guess I'm an Independent. Next step; if you've voted for any Republicans at the level of the national House/Senate, you also have voted in favor of this bill.
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 10, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) For some reason, the Russian Ambassador Kislyak was at Trump's closed door meeting with Russian FM Lavrov, but he wasn't even mentioned in the White House's readout of the meeting. Kislyak is the guy at the center of the Flynn story who's long been suspected of being a spy. Something I didn't catch today: Former CIA Deputy Director opinion seems fairly important here.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) This post is why I continually say you guys beat me. You should be in debate in high school because you know how to take comments out of context and defeat me. Are you serious? Just because of her voice? How many times did I cite those articles in which she was a major b****/asshole to people? How many times did I cite that I didn't want her coronated? How many times did I cite shady things in her life and the fact she also like Trump was a rich one percenter? Cmon. Sure I don't like her voice but I don't like her just like America who hated her so much they voted in a rich clown like Trump. How dare you say I didn't vote for Hillary because of her voice. Yes you beat me in a debate format, almost everybody on here does by taking my statements out of contest. You don't like Hillary for being a major b***/a**hole to people. Yet you couldn't be call yourself part of the party that has made this health care bill their number 1 priority. You don't like people being bad to other people but you would not vote against people who were saying that my family should not be able to have health insurance no matter how many times we begged you to pay attention. So yeah, you deserve to have your words aimed back at you. Your priority was feeling good about your vote, and in the process you were an a**shole to anyone who had a preexisting condition. And you were ok with that and still are. So embrace it. Be proud of your bill and your vote.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) You didn't ask me what policies of Bernie I supported. Hey, it's tough when you despise one candidate and can't vote for her. Hey, I still can be in favor of the Senate rejecting the deal and be a Hillary hater and Bernie lover and Republican. If you call yourself a Republican, then that means you care about something the Republicans are doing more than this, and you are willing to be ok with this in exchange for whatever that is. Preventing investigations, deporting people who look the wrong way, dismantling climate change regulations, whatever it is - you're ok with this because that is a higher priority to you. You are allowed to make that choice. And I'm equally allowed to call you on it. The Republican Party has been saying this ever since 2009 - if you aren't wealthy and you get sick with something you can't afford, you don't have the right to make other people pay for your treatment. You should have either been wealthy or not gotten sick, and it's your fault if you can't afford your treatment. If you call yourself a Republican, that has been your party's defining statement for 8 years, and therefore it's a statement you are ok with.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) What I never understood about trickle down economics and putting more money in the rich's hands is if they are just going to pass this money along to the middle and lower classes, first, why not just give the cut to those classes? If that doesn't work, why would they suddenly start spending more money? They have a lot to spend on workers now that they aren't using. Giving them more isn't the answer. It boggles my mind how non rich people could be republicans. Unless it's a real moderate guy like Kasich, there really is nothing in it for you. The only trickle down the Trump Corp. ever did was trickle down bankruptcy. Don't pay the workers, take your money out, declare bankruptcy and make the little guy do the same. Then talk about how rich you are and what a genius businessman you are. Because they don't actually care about whether or not anything trickles down.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:31 PM) Makes sense. I can accept that line of thought. Remember all those times last year we kept saying at you "What policies of his do you support?" and you never once answered? This was what you were not bothering to look into. So that's where I can come by and say you were ok with it - health care policy wasn't worth you caring about, it wasn't going to decide your vote, you were ok with whatever they did.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:16 PM) Who they hell did you want me to vote for? Hillary? Cmon. Trump? Cmon. So I wrote somebody in. That's my right as an American too if they give me these kind of candidates. My selection would have a good health care plan. I will take a lie detector test to prove myself if that's what you all want. You pay for the test and I get 1,000 dollars if I pass the test. You just said you were ok with having this health plan - you had other priorities. So congratulations. You were ok enough with this to look the other way. It is absolutely your right to look at a person and party who says "If you get sick and aren't rich, you are on your own paying for healthcare" and say you're ok with that because you have other priorities. And you did that. And again just now. And you should pay for all tests yourself. That's the health care plan you were ok with last November in a nutshell too.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 10, 2017 -> 12:00 AM) Not sure I understand your point. I never said I didn't want people with preexisting conditions to not be able to get health care. I never said I wanted people to have to deal with a lifetime cap on health care expenses. It seems to me like the government just wants everybody broke and in bankruptcy. Let's face it, people are getting sicker by the year. Hideous diseases and it's only going to get worse. And the government wants us all broke and without health care so we can just die away. Sad. Bernie did not want this. Cmon Hillary was as bad as Trump in terms of taking care of the rich. No, you just didn't care enough when we were screaming at you to pay attention to policy matters to let it affect your vote. So yeah, you had bigger priorities and you said "Yeah, I'm ok with all these things happening" when you made your vote. Congrats.
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2017 -> 09:53 AM) Well I'm not an expert on these matters, but we know that the case is already in the hands of a grand jury (at least one) which has issued subpoenas. That means a case, with facts and evidence, is being presented by lawyers in the US Attorney's Office. This is not just an FBI investigation anymore. Trump and the Republicans can't control what's about to happen. Comey saw to that. Any Republican still covering for Trump is probably implicated, since i have no other explanation for their actions. I seriously think the number of people who know the facts is getting too big to ever control. Then there are the rumors that sealed indictments have already been issued. We will see about that. QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) The meeting for more resources is being confirmed in several outlets now. Still unclear what day it was, but the timeline of "last week trump started asking for rationale to fire Comey" and "last week Comey asked the DAG, who wrote his letter of reasons to fire him, for more resources to investigate the Trump campaign" is ... not a good look. It would be an open and transparent attempt to thwart an ongoing investigation into the presidency, and something that should require an independent congressional investigation. So, the idea that they won't be able to quash this legally - the US Attorney's Office that you note...those people serve at the pleasure of the President. So to state that the White House can't control what is about to happen...The White House has already removed nearly all of the US Attorneys appointed under the previous administration, and when the NY Attorney refused to resign on the grounds that he was investigating the person who was asking him to resign, he was fired. On top of that...if I have this correct, the US Attorney for Alexandria Virginia, the person who would be responsible for the location where the Flynn investigation is taking place, he is the same person who Trump put in Sally Flynn's place after firing her in January and was the only US Attorney kept on. So even though he's a career prosecutor, on paper there's like 9 different conflicts of interest right there. Furthermore...follow this timeline. Per multiple press reports, the Assistant AG Rod Rosenstein is the guy that the Russia investigation fell to after Sessions recused himself. He is also the guy who affixed his name to the letter firing Comey. Per press reports, he received a request for additional resources for that investigation last week, and WHILE HE HAD THAT REQUEST ON HIS DESK HE FIRED THE GUY WHO MADE THE REQUEST. Read that again. I don't care how "professional" your career looks otherwise, you do not do that - that is a clear conflict of interest and you cannot do that. That should be a fireable offense as well.
  14. R-MI. Member of House Oversight Committee. Slow clap.
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 9, 2017 -> 06:30 PM) Time to step to the plate ha.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2017 -> 04:52 PM) We've got to pray the Senate does the right thing and flips the bird to the bill. Why don't our government officials want to HELP US??? Mr. Brownback?? Others? WTF is this with not helping fellow Americans? Will the Senate do the right thing or not? They don't want to help you because people like you didn't feel like it was a big deal that they spent years telling you that poor people should not have health care. Her emails, you know. You had your priorities and they're acting on them, just like you told them to do.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 4, 2017 -> 01:25 PM) Jokes on you, nobody dies. Yes they do. They don't go to the emergency room or they're not cared for there because it's a chronic condition and they wind up turned away. Having dealt with a chronic condition and uninsurable, yeah it is lethal.
  18. Congrats on killing so many undeserving!
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 07:16 PM) And that's why players accept these team friendly deals. Excellent point. Good work by Adam. Walks away with $22 million in his career even if this doesn't go well.
  20. Sorry Adam. Love that you still hustled on the play dude. Don't stop that.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 07:05 PM) Dang, that really sucks for the guy. Hopefully he heals up well. Ditto. He had his issues, but he always ran stuff out. I really don't like how it happened while he was hustling. I wanted success for him.
