Steff, he said that there were "at least 10 people" who he felt were wishing for Koch's failure, but he did not mention any names. I'd be willing to bet that there were far more than 10 that, when they saw his line from his 1st rehab start, got very happy -- and I would hope you'd agree that is just sick and disturbing, and that in all likelihood, they have some deep-seeded issues.
You could be right.. but I hope that isn't true. I think we're an emotional and passionate group about this team. And we are vocal when things go wrong. I'd like to think that once people sign off here after voicing their opinions they don't walk around talking about how Koch sucks.. but then again, maybe they do. I know when I sign off here I don't think about baseball as far to have to talk about it again until I am watching it on TV, at the game, or back here or on WSI posting. Although, maybe I'm the weird one..?
I don't know anyone on here in a "real world" setting (eg, face to face), but based on some of the comments I've read from several people on here, it would not shock me at all to learn that they go around all day telling people how much Koch, Konerko, White, Ritchie, Jimenez, and whoever else the Sox bum of the week happens to be, sucks. There seems to be so many insecurities around here that such behavior would be the norm. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think I am.
And I'm like you -- outside of this board and outside of a TV/Radio, I don't think about baseball much. And also, it's one thing to be passionate and emotional about the Sox. I think we all are, otherwise we wouldn't spend the time that we spend on this message board discussing things. But, to take it to the extreme that someone is wishing for a player to fail to satiate their own sick desires is just flat out wrong.
