  1. Vick Breaks Leg Doesn't sound "OK" to me.
  2. "Could have scored"? Um, no. Willie Harris, maybe. Brian Daubach, no.
  3. Whew, what a play, heh. Can we get a 2 out f***ing hit, please?
  4. He's just kidding, FBI, he's just kidding.
  5. Colon strikes out the side!!!! Take out the 2 walks, 3 hits, and 5 runs, and it was a great inning!
  6. There's always tomorrow. Afterall, we have Cy on the hill, so we should win fairly easily.
  7. Great 2-1 pitch. Ate him up. C'mon Bartolo.
  8. Walking Blalock to get to A-Rod -- that's a formula for success.
  9. God dammit, Texas announcers. *Muting TV and turning Farmer and Rooney on*
  10. Why is he batting 5th. For the love of God, JM blasts Thomas in the papers then benches him and puts this dope 5th. . JM CANNOT say what he said about Frank and then not play him in the next game. That is unacceptable IMO.
  11. Because people generally only remember the "You can put it on the boooooard, yesssss"'s. People who watch Hawk on a regular basis know what he's all about, and know that he is truly one of the best sports (not just baseball) announcers in America. I'd rank him in the top 15 or so.
  12. Hawk has always been critical of the Sox. Last night he was especially critical when the Sox pitched to Raffy twice with 1st base open, and both times Raffy came through. He kept saying "I don't understand it".
  13. Unless Dusty runs him and his arm into the ground.
  14. Yeah. Mark Prior. You all can take your always-on-the-DL Pedro. I'll take my staff ace of the future Prior. I'll glady take a guy who, over the last 7 years, is 112-35 (take a look at that, and just think about it for a second...77 games over .500) with an ERA of 2.21 and 11.33 strikeouts per 9 IP. Prior may one day reach that status, but until then, he's barely qualified to carry Pedro's jock strap.
  15. Something amazing -- the Sox still have the best record in the majors since the ASB, at 18-9. Considering we've lost 4 of our last 5, I was shocked to read that. Hopefully we can win today, and if we do, we'll just be 1 game out. When you look at how we've played lately, possibly being just 1 game out is pretty incredible.
  16. He's probably talking about Steve Physioc, Hudler's "partner" (hopefully only in the booth and nowhere else ).
  17. Um...umpires RARELY reverse their call. The only ones that have the integrity to do it are the solid veteran umpires, because the young guys have too much ego to admit they made a mistake. I don't know how long the ump in last night's game has been around, nor do I know how long the ump in that Baltimore game has been around, but I'd be willing to bet they were among the young ones in the game.
  18. I'd say the call at 2B was worse, because the umpire was 5 feet away. At least with the foul ball, the ump was 50-75 feet away. That was MONTHS ago dude...get over it.
  19. You're still dwelling on that Crede non-HR call from months ago?
  20. I LIKE when they explain the simple stuff like that. 99% of it I already know since I've been a baseball fan for my whole life, but every now and then I learn something new. And also, as an announcer, you can't just assume that everyone listening has been a baseball lifer. Especially with the Angels, there are many new people who have just recently started following the sport, and explaining the little stuff like what a 6-4-3 is or what a sacrifice fly is makes them feel more into the game and will keep them watching.
  21. Yes, only 2 games back -- but the way KC has been playing lately, we should be 3 or 4 games UP. That's why we're concerned -- along with the fact that the Sox look horrid over the past week.
  22. LOL, yeah, I know, sorry for the jinx!
  23. Vegas.... If I lived there, all would be right in the world. *sigh* One day...
