  1. BTW, Buddy Bell was ejected on that BS call...in other news, walker quickly gives up a 2 run shot to Chavez
  2. So, assuming the Royals score some more here and hold on to win, the worst possible scenario going into the break is a 9.0 game lead on the Twins(who have a hard schedule after break) and a 10.0 game lead on the Tribe. We are still in good shape...dont get so done after this series, afterall, we are playing Oakland and we just swept the D-Rays.
  3. Royals with as many hits as outs here in the 6th. 15.
  4. Well, that should just about do it. Lets just try to avoid the sweep tomorrow and rest up the team during the break. Glad we are just about done with Oakland.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) They have a good bullpen. They had their chance with the 4 and 5 hitters and couldn't get the run home. Konerko should not be batting clean up. His average with RISP is horrible. I know they have a solid pen, but right now, wouldnt you want to face anyone but Zito the way we have been approaching him?
  6. That was a BIG opportunity missed right there. I predict we lose 3-1...just dont think we have it tonight and Zito has been on. Their bullpen is our only hope IMO.
  7. Royals in same situation....Long up. CMON FRANK!
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) I caught it. I dont know what I was thinking...
  9. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Percival gives up a leadoff HR then shuts it down... FINAL Detroit 3 Cleveland 2 Good. Now we just need Minnesota to lose. These are the games we need to win though. Playing a bad team like Tampa is a time to gain ground on Cleveland and Minnesota. We need a big inning. EDIT: lose
  10. Here are a few blurbs from Rotoworld. Nothing too new. Just felt like posting them.
  11. Just curious, how old is Jenks again? I want to say 22+
  12. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) And the live game Royals bullpen tryouts continue. Leo Nunez is in now You guys gotta check out his picture from gameday. He looks like an extraterrestrial! No joke. Check it out
  13. Double for Steward giving the Twins a 2 run lead. Should be enough for them. Now onto the Cleveland game.
  14. QUOTE(BurlyMan56 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) I got there about 10:45 today...the line was a breeze...They showed up around 11:25...I was out of there by 11:35...The line was a breeze. In fact, the people in front of me went back in line 3 times. I went in once...Freddy Garcia signed a card of mine..told him he pitched a great game and good luck....he said thank you.. Willie gave me one of those pictures...I told him nice play yesterday...He said thanks man but ozuna's was better. And finally Bmac signed a baseball in the sweet spot...told him I've seen a couple of his posts on soxtalk.com and he said yeah the sites great... Bmac is cool as hell... It was a hot but pretty good day overall... Just curious, but what is BMac's username? I'm relatively new to this site so....ya....
  15. QUOTE(go-sox05 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) I think if your gonna trade for someone like Lilly with era like 6, you might as well just have Mccarthy. Who i think with a few more starts and some more experince will be much better. Schimdt would be nice if he was healthy, but he will cost the sox some good prospects and a ton of cash. Buy low, sell high
  16. I came to thinking about the makeup of this team for the next few years and found something I really liked. Our starting rotation. Looking to 2007, our rotation will be filthy if Kenny can somewhere pick up a #4 or better starting pitcher. Our rotation would be rediculously good. Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, ???, BMac. One more quality starter in the mix and you can easily win any game of the season assuming BMac is not a complete bust. We have lots of young guys in the field too, assuming we can hold onto them until then. Dye can be replaced by Anderson and Sweeney and Rowand and Pods are hopefully here to stay. I'm lovin this team right now, but the future looks to be possibly even sweeter. Here's to the Sox of now and the future!
  17. Time for the media to have a hay day. I would not be surprised if we lost the next 5 games we play now. Thankfully we would still have the lead in the division, but come on guys. WAKE UP!!
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) Down to 10 you mean. This game is not over. Don't forget we still have two more innings of their pen. Yeah, I know. It is just so frustrating watching wall fly out after wall flyout. Let's hope they wake up from their slumber nexting inning. Cause right now they ahve no other option. I remember games earlier this year against the Royals where we were losing in the 8th and came back. It's still possible, just not likely with their bats right now.
  19. Well, our lead on Twins is down to 9.5, 10.5 on Cleveland. We have looked plain AWFUL today. Inexcusable play. I expect us to play hard the rest of this week against Detroit and Co. after another off day tomorrow. This type of play makes me feel sick.
  20. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) Anybody seen the lineups yet? As a matter of fact I have: Your Chicago White Sox LF Scott Podsednik 2B Willie Harris DH Frank Thomas 1B Paul Konerko CF Aaron Rowand RF Jermaine Dye C AJ Pierzynski 3B Joe Crede SS Pablo Ozuna Cubs Patterson Perez Lee Burnitz Ramirez Walker Barrett Hollandsworth Blanco
  21. 4 innings left to score 3+ runs. Still very possible, but we need to get to Maddux. He's getting into a groove.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) ...I'm beginning to get concerned about Contreras though. I am mildy concerned as well. It would be nice for Kenny to make a move and pick up a guy like Lilly or someone with the skills to be a 4 or 5 SP type guy to fill in for Contreras or El Duque if they really struggle or go down to injury.
