  1. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Whoa, nevermind the last post. My internet just pulled some kinda crazy trick on me. It pulled up a non-refreshed page so it didn't show any of the new posts! Either way it was a nice summary of what has happened so far.
  2. Ahhhh! The Jr. madness is back again. We have 4 days left to get him for the playoff roster. He has been hot as hell lately which can either hurt us or help us. Jr. would obviously be a BIG boost right now and bring more fans out to the park IMO. At least we always know that KW is trying whether or not he gets things done.
  3. It's mind boggling to see a 19 year old throw the ball like this. I am just amazed. HE IS A TEENAGER!!!
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) Why is Dye playing Iguchi so deep? No way did I think the runner would be able to get to 3rd base on that liner. You mean Ichiro? Anyways, looks like that HBP is going to come back and haunt us.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Pods goes on his rehab assignment tomorrow. BEST NEWS OF THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Thanks for the advice guys. Right now I might be leaning towards University of Michigan or U of I because they both fit a lot of things that you all recommended. Thanks again for the help.

    Career Tossup

I am at the point in my high school career where I begin to apply to various colleges. However, I am not yet sure just what exactly I want to do. I have one of three options as I see it. I can either go into A. Engineering school, B. Med school, or C. Find a school that has a good sports management program (Miami, FL?). My head says I should go into engineering or med school because of my high school success(A's in honors math and science courses). My heart says I should go into sports management because that is my greatest passion of the three. I know that I would personally be happiest getting a job in sports management, but I am not sure how the job outlook is for that. Another problem is finding a good school somewhat close to the midwest that has a good sports management program if that is what I choose to do. So, my question is, just how important is it to really enjoy what you do for a living down the road? Also, any advice on any career decisions/information(good colleges for eng/med/sports management) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice/info.
  8. Holding the Yanks to just 5 runs in 3 games....YES

  12. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Thing is, we shouldnt even be playing now. Uribe has really kept this game going. The error in the first, then he couldnt get the runner on 3rd in with 1 out. Oh well. Lets hope for the best. You are forgiven Juan. God bless you.

  14. I hate Rivera. I think this game is going to be won by a solo shot. Im glad freddy lasted 8 innings today.
  15. We are just one impact bat away from being a lot better then the Red Sox/Yankees. I really hope we can get a big bat through waivers but I dont see it. Too bad the market really sucked this year.
  16. Matsui pops out to Pods to end the inning. BTW how the hell was jeters little grounder ruled a HIT??? that was an unusual play by juan and came back to hurt us. lets get us some runs!!!!
  17. QUOTE(beck72 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) FWIW, GEorge Offman said this AM that 3 sources confirmed that a Griffey trade was in the works, with Griffey agreeing to waive his no-trade to the sox You gave my stomache butterflies
  18. Is an official list ever made of who has cleared waivers? And if so, when does it come out?
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) I'd be thrilled with this move. Burroughs will never develop into the player the Pads thought he was, but he's still capable of turning into a good role player and could still turn into an average 3rd baseman. Not a bad insurance plan, especially since Borch will be leaving the org at the end of the year. Very interesting on the Griffey front. Giving up Young would of sucked, but I think I'd of made that deal, especially since they were getting a decent portion of the contract paid. Who knows, it could still happen.
