  1. also, generally there will NOT be that many people down there. There was only 40 or so people total looking for tickets, and since we got lucky, I'm assuming more people got tix after we did, although when we got in there it didn't look like there were many more empty seats. As soon as first pitch rolled around, at least 10 of those people gave up. I think they got down there early for some reason. DON'T GO EARLY. you won't get anything early. Time your arrival for right around 15 minutes before the first pitch. It's going to be EVEN colder tonight, from all reports, with temps dipping down to the thirties. It's also a weeknight. It's also game 2, not game 1. That's going to favor the buyer. If you want to go, and brave the elements, my gut feeling is that you will probably have a chance to get in at around face. I'm not sure what that chance is, but it's a chance.
  2. here's what you have to beware of - they don't rip the tickets. So someone could go in, scan it and then pass it back to a buddy and it would appear to be an unused ticket. Once it's scanned - it's done. Make sure whoever sells them to you is going into the park with you. That's what we did. Also, just make sure the dude who's selling looks legit.
  3. also, I'll give the full scouting report of what went down near Sox park tomorrow, when I'm significantly less drunk
  4. we were in section 534, row 20. Second to last row, just behind home plate a little bit to the third base side.
  5. some guy pulled up just before the game, offer two for 100 each, we happened to have $100s while everyone else was fumbling counting 20s. It was unbelievably lucky.
  6. before first pitch. best game I ever saw in my entire life. that is all.
  7. I'm really excited. It's been hard to wait a week for this.
  8. what are some good bars around that area east of the "bubble" (in case I don't get lucky)?
  9. oh we definitely will. my buddy and I aren't thinking we're definitely going to get in or anything. But I'd shoot myself if I didn't try. I've tried literally everything else. I've got to try this too.
  10. take the train to the cell at 6:30, wait until 7:30 or bottom of the second trying to get in at $250 or less lower bowl, face or just above it for upper deck. We plan to hang around just east of the cordoned off area, between the green and red lines and on the expy. if we fail, take the red line back up to downtown and scramble into a bar to catch the rest. is this hairbrained? bound to fail? genius?
  11. I've heard that the .375 batting average in the series is kind of skewed, like he didn't hit for squat with men on base, and that his hits mostly came when the games were already well decided.
  12. he was joking around when he said he was close to picking the sox. That whole segment was a joke, IMO
  13. if Konerko leaves for the Angels?!?!?!?
  14. Two players share the birthday May 27th, 1968 Unbelievable coincidence that the other one is Bagwell....
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) He said they asked.. not confirmed. my bad.
  16. It had to be a '59er, in my opinion. Those guys played in a series, and are a notch above anyone else in the last 80 seasons of Sox baseball.
  17. this is especially good because Silvy and Carmen were ranting and raving this morning that the due date was in the middle of the series... thank god for modern medicine...
  18. per Bruce Levine on ESPN 1000 just now, they induced labor and had the baby already...
  19. can we camp out at the park and wait for that time? can we stop by the box office? Are we relegated to just calling a busy signal for the rest of our lives? what actions can be taken!??!?!?
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Good question. I'm sure a very small % get rejected for bad cards, duplicate orders etc. When and where do those go back up? Yeah, that was my main question. About duplicate orders/whatnot.
  21. do they hold anything back to sell day of game? What about any cancellations, etc. Do those tickets get released? Can you camp out? Etc. etc.
  22. How f***ing hard is it to put a one-paragraph update up on whitesox.com "we're working on it you'll get your tickets." I STILL don't know how many WS tickets you can buy either, and it seems like that info is still completely vague across the board. Anyone know for sure?
  23. QUOTE(Funkman7 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) Yeah that's a good point. Why didn't the White Sox have a lottery? I guess our franchise isn't exactly experienced with these things. More like wasn't prepared for this type of thing
