  1. If you're not on hold already guys, don't even try to call. I've called almost all fifty states several times. The phone is done.
  2. I couldn't figure out anywhere HOW MANY WS tickets I could've gotten with Season Tickets. Was it ONE ticket for four games? FOUR tickets for four games? ONE ticket for one game? That's part of the reason why I didn't jump onboard, but it was mostly cuz I couldn't get a hold of ANYONE because the line was busy and I didn't trust this whole process to get worked out correctly. Plus, I can't really afford it and I couldn't go to even 20-30 games next year much less 80 and I would feel uncomfortable scalping tix to recoup costs.
  3. on whitesox.com the offer is no longer available so I'm thinking they got all the orders they care to get....
  4. if this series goes seven, it'll be such a blessing for the white sox in terms of f***ing over the opponents rotation. I'm so happy it went at least six, because if it ended at 5 the Astros were going to be able to set their rotation any way they wanted to.
  5. 25,000 people in the park for a Tuesday game vs. the Royals? aren't we being a little naive? Sure, the paid attendance will be 25,000, but....
  6. The Cubs have a lot of long term problems. They shot the wad in terms of payroll in the last couple of seasons and are fairly tied down in terms of contracts right now. They have literally no flexibility. If Wood and Prior continue their "OW OW MY ARM" routine, there's no way they'll even be competitive the next few seasons.
  7. when he said that, I think all of us were thinking of retiring as Sox fans, we were so sick with disgust at what was happening to our team
  8. Nice job working the numbers, but I don't think Paulie gets anything less than 5 years/65 million (13 million per) with back to back 40 hr season and an ALCS MVP on his resume I also think they give Frank a 1 million offer to see if he can make one last comeback.
  9. This was a Sox town from 1991-1994, that's for sure. I'm not saying I would want an explosion. It would suck to have to worry about tickets for the game and whatnot.
  10. I was just thinking last night about how the Angels really overshadow the Dodgers in the LA area these days because of the Angels recent success and the Dodgers piss-poor general managing and underacheving on the field. Do you get the sense that the White Sox could enjoy a similar type of swing in terms of popularity? It seems as though the Angels were relatively the lesser team in the LA area for years and years, and all of a sudden they are the more popular franchise for the past few seasons with more of a rabid fanbase. Could Chicago experience a similar effect?
  11. Anyone have an idea of how much extra revenue the White Sox will generate with this Postseason windfall, in terms of ticket sales, concessions, and especially merch sales? I read a ballpark figure in the trib last week that said that they stand to make an additional 15-20 million if they make the World Series, but I think there's SO MUCH MERCH being bought right now that the figure MUST be higher. How high could the payroll be next year? Is the 100 million mark a possibility, or is it something more along the lines of 80-90 million?
  12. Not to be a downer...but the thing is...other than Frank Thomas we really avoided any kind of major injuries this season, and that's not guaranteed to happen next year or any year down the road. Also, doesn't Contreras' contract come up after 2006? Doesn't Mark's and A-Row's come up after 2007? Even if we resign Konerko I hesitate to say we'll be set for "4-5 more years".
  13. I swear to god this guy is smack in the middle of every celebration photo I have ever seen since the 2000 division title He always looks like he's partying his ass off in those photos
  14. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:10 AM) Too many Miller Lites... Is this Dave Wills? hopefully you didn't drive your new South Oaks Dodge Minivan home afterwards...
  15. You know what? I think he's pissed because our fans aren't stroking his cock because he's throwing them a national coverage bone. Our fans have let this guy have it for trying to hop on the bandwagon now and I think he's seething about what people were yelling to him at the park on tuesday.
  16. he backs up Eddings. Patrick is obviously furious
  17. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) anyone else looking on craiglist? there are some real assholes posting tickets, some of the posts you just have to laugh at though that one long-winded one is obviously a ruse to get people to believe that they can't sell their tickets for too much above face
  18. I have tickets to both game 6 and 7, so I'm kind of hoping for a long series.
  19. I may just go down before the game and see if I can score some
  20. you guys are acting like the Angels scoring a couple of runs off of Garland early would be insurmountable. Our offense has been really clicking in the last 8 games. Have some faith that we can give our pitcher a cushion and he can get into the groove. He did win 18 games this year. I know he was 0-2 against Anaheim, but I believe he can pitch well enough to get the job done. Again, Garland or Contreras is going to pitch game 1 and game 2, in some order. Why does the order even matter?
  21. I'm with whoever said Garland/Contreras and Contreras/Garland makes no difference. We have 4 aces on this team, and we have to keep that mentality. Garland is our fourth ace, and he gets the ball next. We have to keep his confidence sky-high. If we DON'T start him on game 1, that sends a no confidence message to him, something Garland has never responded to very well. In this case, Guillen knows he needs to ride the horse that got him there, and that's JG. 18 victories. Yes, Game 1 is a tone-setter in 5 game series. A 1-0 lead in a seven gamer doesn't mean nearly as much in my opinion. Game 1 in a seven game series can ultimately make a difference, but I like our chances against anyone as long as Count and Mark are both starting two games each and Freddy is on the road.
  22. this is the best day of my life as a white sox fan
  23. I don't mind keeping Marte on to face exactly ONE left hander with the bases empty. If he does the job, great, if he doesn't, yank him. The fatal flaw Ozzie has is leaving him in to face a "stretch" of lefties...even when it includes a righty. To be totally fair, the ump WAS squeezing Marte a bit. Don't get me wrong...I'd love to see him out of here but I honestly think this is what will probably happen
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) hey, dont tell anyone about my secret ticket place Wait, let me get this straight...I can buy two "fan forwards" which aren't even TICKETS for $1100? That's what they're offering me?
