QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:19 AM) I'm catching up on The Walking Dead (now just one episode behind), and I have to say it's getting pretty stupid. You find a zombie in a well. It's not really causing any harm. Drink water from well and you may or may not = zombie (they didn't really establish that... is the water contaminated? Is it not? Have these people been selectively ignoring that well for months?) Either way, no harm was coming to any one. So let's send our token Asian who looks like he's trying out for a Temple of Doom sequel and send him down the well. Why? I guess the water in this well (1 of 7 on the property), that has gone ignored for quite some time, is now precious. Of course 7 people can't properly lower a 150 lb dude down the well to TIE A F*CKING ROPE AROUND A WATER-BLOATED ZOMBIE. The fact that while dangling and freaking for his life after the fountain breaks this dude was able to lasso our zombie friend is stupid enough, but also they showed the group gain at least 10-15 feet on the ground pulling the rope up, while Glenn isn't being raised at all within the well. So then they raise the zombie out, and the zombie breaks in half. Nice effects, pretty nasty stuff. The reaction? "Well, we should definitely seal off that well." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You go through all this crap, happily endanger Glenn's life, in order to save a well that apparently no one cared about until that day, and then the "rescue" goes so terribly you "should seal off that well". Genius. The well should have just been sealed immediately and a pulled put in the zombie's head. Other Notes: Lori is knocked up. Like I give a s***. Just let your husband raw dog you like you let Shane and act like it's his kid. We're to believe it hasn't been that long since episode 1, so it'd be within the realm of possibility that it's Rick's when the little bastard is born. The Charlize Theron lookalike (Lauren Cohan, must have gotten a nose job) banged Glenn. This is the first time I've wished the show were on HBO or Showtime so we could have seen her boobs. Lori is to The Walking Dead as Gemma is to Sons of Anarchy. Crazy theory coming. Hershel and his family are actively turning people into zombies. The daughter pointed the survivors to the well with the zombie in it. There are 7 wells on that property, and the zombie in the well had clearly been there a long time. Once infected, the new zombies are corralled into the barn. Not sure why they would be doing this, but my guess is that it's some crazy religious thing. We're already seeing that Hershel isn't the sweet old man that he originally seemed to be.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) I feel like half of the posters that have signed up lately are just trolls. This guy's a special case. He absolutely despises the team/owner. I can honestly say I haven't seen him say a single positive thing. -
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:40 PM) Yes. Definitely. He's not Batman in real life you know. No s***, but he's jacked. And I'm willing to bet that he's gotten some pretty decent training in martial arts, military training, and boxing from all of the roles he's been in. He's notorious for getting very into his roles. So now that I've explained why I think he'd probably destroy you, can you explain why you think you can "definitely" kick his ass other than him not really being Batman?

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 05:46 PM) Thanks. Actually yes that I would. You think you can beat up Christian Bale?
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) I'd rather have it the other way around, honestly. Though obviously I'm a "die Sox White fan", I greatly enjoy the strategy that comes with the pitcher hitting in the NL. Huh?

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) I think the characters are each one emotion personified and it's not giving them enough range. Daryl is the only character not in the comics so maybe the writers feel like they have to follow the comics. The problem with that is comic book characters always have exaggerated traits to get the point across in a couple sentences of dialogue. I don't think T-Dog is from the comics, either. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) 'Homeland' seriously is the best show on television. Better than Breaking Bad? Or are you saying "currently" on TV? You do seem to jump from one show to another kind of quickly QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) Remember, Carrie's not exactly all there. She's on anti-psychotics and clearly on many occasions has lacked proper judgement. I think it's entirely appropriate given what we've been told about her character. I haven't watched the show yet (I plan on it), but wouldn't the CIA have pretty strict standards and not allow a person on anti-psychotics to be employed by them?

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) Can they please write Andrea out of the script, there is at least one moment in every episode that I actually yell how much of a b**** she is to the television. Please kill her off already.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) Yep. He's pretty far up the list of people I wanna get in a fist fight with. And I'd beat the brakes off his ass. f*** that makes me not wanna pay a dime to see ANY movie that he's in. What a complete asshat. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) OOOOOOOOOOOooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh GOOOOOOD for YOUUU That. Plus, no you f***ing wouldn't.

Is De Aza an ideal lead off hitter?
Milkman delivers replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) I want De Aza leading off and playing CF too. Keep Quentin add Viciedo. I agree completely with your first sentence. And while I agree with your second sentence as well, it's not going to happen as nobody will take Rios and no team will bench a guy earning that much right out of the gate. -
This is certainly not your problem, but I have this urge to read every post and article in threads that I'm reading. The only way I don't compulsively read those articles is when they're in a thread I don't care about at all.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) Not too long after La Russa retired, I thought I read something about Reinsdorf wanting him on the Sox in an advisory position of some sort. Was this just wishful thinking/fluff on Jerry's part? This just gave me the biggest craving for a fluffernutter sandwich. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) Ellis going to get 4.5 million a year....awful deal by the Dodgers. I've always liked him. Thought of him as underrated.

Sorry to hear about Kamala. -
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 09:35 AM) I really hope they are gonna have all kinda crazy stuff happen the second half of the season. Cause this is just boring at this point. It should start getting better with Daryl (who it seems the writers really like, and someone they will push) realizing that he's pretty well-suited to lead the group and beginning to think that Carl is ineffective. Plus, that barn full of zombies has to lead somewhere very interesting. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:32 AM) I'm still really liking it. However, I think we were spoiled by the 6 episode first season. So much was packed into those episodes, and now it's slower paced and a lot more character building. I am hoping for more stuff to begin happening, but I'm nowhere near giving up on it. They're doing a piss-poor job of that. Even I can admit that as a fan of the show. The majority of the characters are shallow cardboard cutouts of characters. Daryl is very easily the best character, and he's even stronger after the last episode. Rick is obviously going to get the most depth as the main character, but he's coming off pretty weak because they're trying to make him perfectly moral and just. It seems like Shane should be a better character, but I think it's the actor holding it back. So besides Daryl, I think the only other characters that really worked so far were Dale and Glenn. And both of them are becoming stale as of this week.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) Can we just a thread just for article dumps? I always think Southsider is bringing up a topic he just thought of and had an opinion, but instead it's just a long article I don't care to read..... Haha, I have to agree with this.

What is your favorite Ventura moment?

I voted for the grand slam, but I was tempted to do a write-in for the ankle injury itself. -
Mike Matheny is the NEW Cards Mgr..
Milkman delivers replied to SOXOBAMA's topic in The Diamond Club
Plus, he's a former catcher. I obviously know that that doesn't automatically make someone a good manager, but national writers don't always seem like the smartest guys. -
It sounds like Wilson doesn't even consider Texas as an option. And I'm surprised he's less than two years younger than Buehrle.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 08:17 AM) Buster_ESPN Buster Olney There is enormous skepticism around MLB about Marlins' offer to Pujols. He would cost them $25m+; highest payroll in their history is $60m. He'll surely cut his demands to roughly 1/3 of that in order to play for Ozzie. Hell, I'm sure he'd pay the Marlins for the chance to have a beer with Guillen.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) I have hated Andrea the whole time, she is the biggest b**** on tv. The characters overall just suck. Even Glenn and Dale took steps back this week. I liked the homage in Dexter as well.

I would have stopped watching if they killed Daryl.

Milkman delivers replied to SOXOBAMA's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 06:18 PM) "Matheny, 41, doesn't have managerial experience but is no stranger to the game." White Sox are terribly run. I wonder if he'll have an experienced bench coach, at least.
