  1. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:51 AM) Griffey in center is still leaps and bounds better than Swisher in CF. Hahahahaha.
  2. I saw Unforgiven for the first time in years earlier. That is such a great movie. Nothing goes better with drinking than Western and Mafia movies.
  3. QUOTE (alexgtp @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) Sheesh ppl. Lets see how we progress the next 20 games or so. As said before many veterans on this team. All we need is 3-4 runs per game.which we are fully capable of doing. FOR GOD SAKES PLEASE BUNT AND GET THE RUNNERS OVER!! I DONT CARE WHO IS AT BAT!! What I really want too see is our pitching and defense really suck it up and give us their best performances for the rest of the season/ and post season. Heck now that I think of it the Sox were not even suppose to be in 1st place. So whatevere they accomplish this year I will be more than satisfied. But winning a WS champioship would truly amazing! You have to be kidding. That is the quickest way to lose games. Are you Ozzie Guillen?
  4. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) Here is the story from the Sun-Times. Obviously, one of the Sox players told Cowley that CQ punched a locker. I fear that's what really happened. BY JOE COWLEY Staff Reporter Carlos Quentin's season appears to be over as the White Sox left fielder and MVP candidate suffered a fractured right wrist that will require surgery Monday, according to sources. It's not certain how Quentin suffered the injury, but speculation is he punched a locker in Boston. He was a late scratch before Monday's game in Cleveland and hasn't played since. Quentin has 36 home runs. The Sox have options to replace Quentin, including moving Ken Griffey Jr. from center to left field. And Nick Swisher would move to center. If this is true, I lose any respect I had for him. That's not passion. That's being a f***ing idiot.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) i can't imagine anyone feels worse than this guy - CQ fought hard to overcome injuries and show what he's about. s***...i feel terrible for him. He's clearly someone you can never fully rely on to stay healthy. How many seasons in a row is this?
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 12:45 PM) What did you guys think of "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devils Rejects"? I caught both yesterday ON DEMAND. I enjoyed "1000" much better, as I liked the more campy style to it, but both were entertaining. I never saw House of 1,000 Corpses, but heard nothing but bad things. I really liked The Devil's Rejects, though. I'm still not exactly sure why. The soundtrack was probably the best I've ever heard before, too.
  7. I don't know if it's been said, but...THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD?
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) So I'm listening to Pandora while I'm at work..Journey, Don't Stop Believing, started playing. How can I possibly concentrate on anything but the 05 Sox now. The Sopranos finale actually took over that song for me.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:14 PM) Agreed, I think it will be Blalock or Melvin Mora over there. You think so? That'd be an awesome stop-gap.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) This team was rolling before Crede came back, and then slowed as he adjusted, and now he's out. Him coming back and being thrown right into the lineup, which I complained about at the time, probably cost this team 3 games considering how it messed up the good vibes. I called the crap out of that one.
  11. Vazquez pitched very well today, although I did not get to see the game. It's like I said, I really shouldn't watch games that he starts, ha.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) I dont think Juan has the range that Joe Crede does. Joe makes stops that Juan simply cannot make. Juan is a very good defensive 3B, but Crede seemed to come up with that diving stop, or short hopper exactly when it was needed. Outside of that, he didnt bring much to the plate this year though. 3B is an obvious hole on this team. You are talking about seasons past. At no point in this season has Joe Crede's defense at 3B been better than Juan Uribe's defense at 3B.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:25 PM) pretty scary QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) It's ludicrous, isn't it? Well, as my signature says...
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:18 PM) i get the feeling TCQ might be hurt worse than I thought. You wouldn't believe the push that Pedroia is getting for MVP out East right now. If it's true that Quentin is hurt, he is in serious jeopardy of losing to Dustin.
  15. Whoa, this is honestly the lineup we're trotting out there?
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 10:37 AM) The bad thing is that Crede will definitely get starts when he returns to try to prove that he is healthy. He, of course, will not be healthy and will likely hurt the team during a crucial time of the year. So, those obligatory few games where we "have" to give him a chance, before we decide he's not our best option and still clearly injured, will end up being negative for the team.
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) t-minus 90 seconds to ozzie meltdown.... That'd be great. I don't remember him flipping out at all this year. I want him to go absolutely ape s***.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) this team looks like s***, but I still gotta feeling they're going to pull out the division. Like Sunday in BOS, tomorrow will be a win they need to have and they'll get it. No, see that's the problem with this team. We don't have to win the final game of the series, we have to start winning every f***ing series.
  19. Plain and simple, my signature says it all. Plus, it's become abundantly clear that this is not a playoff team. They are fading down the stretch to the Twins, just like EVERY OTHER YEAR they've had a close race with Minnesota.
  20. It's like we have to pinch run for Konerko as soon as he gets on base.
  21. Optimism doesn't work for me. I've seen this team lose the division down the stretch to the Twins too many times to think this has to be different.
