  1. Should have been a double play, but Alexei puss armed it to first.
  2. So, none of you can watch this? Men on first and second, 1 out. There was a double and then a walk. Wells is now batting.
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 07:24 PM) GET OVER HERE!
  4. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 06:23 PM) Yet every game since April will have the exact same value in the record. We can't do anything about the games we've already played, though, can we?
  5. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) Did he really circle the bases after a homerun with a beer can? I believe that was after they clinched the division in Minnesota, during the celebration.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) wow everyone was fine with broadway after his first start this year - in which he was solid. now everyone's freaking out because he's had a bad one since. jeez people, relax. it's one game, and if we make the playoffs we need a healthy rotation. And this one particular game, no matter who starts, will not make the difference between whether we get there or not. I'd say it's a matter of how we do over the course of ALL the remaining games. but that's just me. Oh yeah? And if we finish the season one game behind the Twins? Every game is the most important game of the season from today until the division is clinched.
  7. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 12:33 PM) It is possible, though, that he is a freak of nature. His heart is 33% larger than the average man's. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/statitude.../armstrong_btn/ That gives him a pretty distict advantage athletically. Granted, I don't know how his heart compares to other cyclists, but it is possible that he has a God-given advantage. Maybe he's like cyclings version of Wilt Chamberlain - ahead of his time athletically. As stated earlier, he has been tested for all the banned substances - repeatedly, and the cycling organizations seem to be pretty good at catching cheaters regardless of their stature in the sport. That said, I wouldn't be totally shocked if he, or any athlete tested positive for PEDs. Sad, but not shocked. Sorry, what I was trying to say was that "Armstrong would have to be more than just a freak of nature to be so dominant in the sport." The guy was saying that he could be a freak of nature and he'd still not be as good as he is.
  8. I made this post years ago. I have a friend whose brother is a trainer for these bicyclists. He admittedly has never worked with Lance Armstrong, but he has worked with many of his teammates. He says that the steroid use in bicycling is rampant, and that Armstrong would have to be more than just a freak of nature to be so dominant in the sport.

    Sandwich

    Ham and cheese on white bread with mustard. I love me a normal sammich.
  10. Konerko's hurt. I'm turning this off and leaving before I throw a hissy fit.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) We really have to stop letting him start games. Who do we start, though? We have no good choices.
  12. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) Just playing so poorly against the hottest team in the majors. Not a good mix. It's also not good to throw AAA garbage against them, ha. Not too many choices out there, though.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) 1-7 with RISP tonight. Eh, Cabrera couldn't have done much more with that.
  14. Do we have anyone available to bench Alexei for a few days?
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) Wow, good job pitching over the error! He must've learned that from Buehrle.
