Introducing the "new" Oklahoma City NBA franchise
Every name they were considering sounded like a WNBA team name.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) So I'm listening to Pandora while I'm at work..Journey, Don't Stop Believing, started playing. How can I possibly concentrate on anything but the 05 Sox now. The Sopranos finale actually took over that song for me.

Ozzie Says Crede May Be Out for the Year
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:14 PM) Agreed, I think it will be Blalock or Melvin Mora over there. You think so? That'd be an awesome stop-gap.

Ozzie Says Crede May Be Out for the Year
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) This team was rolling before Crede came back, and then slowed as he adjusted, and now he's out. Him coming back and being thrown right into the lineup, which I complained about at the time, probably cost this team 3 games considering how it messed up the good vibes. I called the crap out of that one.

White Sox Winner!
Vazquez pitched very well today, although I did not get to see the game. It's like I said, I really shouldn't watch games that he starts, ha.

Ozzie Says Crede May Be Out for the Year
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) I dont think Juan has the range that Joe Crede does. Joe makes stops that Juan simply cannot make. Juan is a very good defensive 3B, but Crede seemed to come up with that diving stop, or short hopper exactly when it was needed. Outside of that, he didnt bring much to the plate this year though. 3B is an obvious hole on this team. You are talking about seasons past. At no point in this season has Joe Crede's defense at 3B been better than Juan Uribe's defense at 3B.

Sox @ Indians 9-3-08
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:25 PM) pretty scary QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) It's ludicrous, isn't it? Well, as my signature says...

Sox @ Indians 9-3-08
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 12:18 PM) i get the feeling TCQ might be hurt worse than I thought. You wouldn't believe the push that Pedroia is getting for MVP out East right now. If it's true that Quentin is hurt, he is in serious jeopardy of losing to Dustin.

Sox @ Indians 9-3-08
Whoa, this is honestly the lineup we're trotting out there?

Ozzie Says Crede May Be Out for the Year
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 10:37 AM) The bad thing is that Crede will definitely get starts when he returns to try to prove that he is healthy. He, of course, will not be healthy and will likely hurt the team during a crucial time of the year. So, those obligatory few games where we "have" to give him a chance, before we decide he's not our best option and still clearly injured, will end up being negative for the team.

9/2 SOX @ Cle 6:05 PM CDT - CSN
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) t-minus 90 seconds to ozzie meltdown.... That'd be great. I don't remember him flipping out at all this year. I want him to go absolutely ape s***.

9/2 SOX @ Cle 6:05 PM CDT - CSN
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) this team looks like s***, but I still gotta feeling they're going to pull out the division. Like Sunday in BOS, tomorrow will be a win they need to have and they'll get it. No, see that's the problem with this team. We don't have to win the final game of the series, we have to start winning every f***ing series.

It's not like we're in a playoff race or anything
Plain and simple, my signature says it all. Plus, it's become abundantly clear that this is not a playoff team. They are fading down the stretch to the Twins, just like EVERY OTHER YEAR they've had a close race with Minnesota.

9/2 SOX @ Cle 6:05 PM CDT - CSN
It's like we have to pinch run for Konerko as soon as he gets on base.

Chat Crew 2008
Anyone in for tonight?

Glass half empty or full; Pessimism/Optimism?
Optimism doesn't work for me. I've seen this team lose the division down the stretch to the Twins too many times to think this has to be different.

So... what are our options?
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:40 PM) Exactly. Ram is a wild card for next year IMO. He has no other way to get on base other than with his bat. At some point, some of the balls he puts into play are going to start finding gloves. It's just bound to happen. I'm not saying he has been lucky, or he is a bad hitter, because he isn't either of those, but he certainly isn't a sure bet for next year. If someone told me Lexi was going to bat .245 next season, I would be upset, but not surprised. Same reaction if someone told me he was going to hit .320. You'd be upset if Ramirez hit .320 next year?

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 10:39 PM) You mean the "In a wooorrld..." guy? The same guy must write all the trailers too, cuz they all start with: "In a world..", or "In a town..." Yes, him.

It's going to be weird watching trailers without his voice anymore. RIP. Strangely, I found this out by looking up the Family Guy episode that was just on. I clicked on his name, as he was one of the guest stars, and I see his date of death listed as today. Crap. I didn't even know he was sick, or was it sudden. I love the "trailer" for The Comedian he was in. I guess he went into the hospital because of a blood clot in his lungs. His death was from complications during surgery.

ChiSox @ Tribe 6:05 PM CDT
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) You thought we would pull away when we had to go on the road to boston and cleveland? As bad as we are on the road? While they played Seattle and Oakland? We're lucky it wasn't worse as bad as we are on the road It seemed to be the consensus that the Twins would fall apart on their long road trip, and that the Sox would be able to put some games between us.

ChiSox @ Tribe 6:05 PM CDT
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) Well both team had long trips and both teams sucked on them This was also supposed to be the time where we pull away. But, we're tied.

WHITE SOX WINNER (8/31)
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) I am going to say something that may surprise everyone. I think we are going to take it to Lee tomorrow. And this is why I never say optimistic things about the White Sox.
