  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) If he throws his slider low and away to righties on 2 strikes, he would be getting him. He loves his curveball and throws it on 2 strikes a lot. A curve can hang a lot more, a slider just flattens out. Its easier to hit a hanging curve than it is to hit a flattened out slider away. He clearly doesn't know how to pitch. The talent is all there, though. I think he gets to much say when he's on the mound. AJ should call the game, down to every last pitch.
  2. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) There's a difference between legitimate criticism and saying "Maybe we can package him and Anderson for Vizcaino". I can see that one, yes. But, we'll catch s*** for pointing out that Vazquez has no idea how to put hitters away with two strikes, or that he blows up when one thing doesn't go his way, or that he's done this s*** his entire career and it doesn't seem that it's changing.
  3. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) I wish soxtalk posters would learn how to stfu and let the game happen instead of constantly crying about how everyone on our team sucks, but what are you gonna do. The starting pitchers deserve every criticism they get. Two, maybe three, of them have been awful, and one of them is on the mound right now.
  4. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) He's throwing strikes so far and not putting guys on via the walk -- which is more than can be said for Garland in the early innings yesterday. Most of the hits were bloop little b**** hits in this game. Until he served up the meatball that Ramirez crushed. His problem is that he explodes because one thing goes wrong for him. This guy has had years to prove he's worth something, but he just continues to suck. Hopefully the offense is going to score a lot today. Good start this inning.
  5. Javier Vazquez is a thrower, not a pitcher.
  6. Is anybody else convinced that Vazquez will never become a good pitcher? This guy was a mistake. One of very few that KW has made in a while.
  7. I don't want him because I don't want to hear opposing fans chanting, "STER-OIDS STER-OIDS STER-OIDS." And I think he'll eventually be caught.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) Whose spot would Figgins be taking on the 25 man roster then? Well, I guess probably Gload. Hey, don't rain on my parade here.
  9. Stop and think of our bench if we made this trade (considering Figgins might not be used as a starter). Mackowiak, Figgins, Cintron, Ozuna, Gload, and I guess you can throw in Widger. That's an awesome bench.
  10. Funny, but I get a feeling that BA will come up huge on offense for the playoffs.
  11. I've been saying that all I want out of Uribe is to finish the year with a .250 average, and he's just about there. So, great job to dig yourself out of that extremely deep hole, Juan. And Garland. He had a great start after that awful 1st inning. I hope he doesn't have a relapse like he did the last time he had a great start. Just get that ERA into the mid-4's at the end of the year, and I'll be satisfied.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) Do you hit Barrett now even though it wasn't intentional. No, can't give them runners with Garland pitching.
  13. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Jon you f***in loser!!! Why weren't they all strikeouts. The cubs offense sucks, they shouldn't even be foul tipping your pitches...go back to california asshole!!!! If he keeps up this pace, he may get his ERA under 5.5 today. That was unintentional.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) I'm all about honoring the Classic Hedberg jokes. We got spaghetti...and blankets.
  15. Damn it, Dye. This offense really spoils us. I just realized we have a run for each inning we've played, and I still feel like we should have more.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) An escalator never breaks, it just becomes stairs. Mitch Hedberg...nice.
  17. He gets through another. Just a few more, and call it a day.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Garland is a pot smoking, walking tampon, bastard. The first part doesn't need green.
  19. Glad we answered back there. Gonna need a whole lot of runs to win this one.
  20. I absolutely f***ing hate Jon Garland. Go back to California, you f***ing burn out pot head.
  21. Doesn't Marshall have a nasty curve? I hope he doesn't get it over today.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 10:41 PM) Rowand's play does not compare to Iguchi's, I love Row and all but it wasn't an amazing grab, just a tragic ending. It's pretty much what happened in Naked Gun 33 1/3. An infielder catches an pop up, then is hit by a car...or mauled by a tiger.
