  1. You should say he pitched a bad game because he gave up 6 runs.
  2. And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. Garland was garbage, just like he's been the rest of the year.
  3. Haha, Garland pitched like s***. Jeez, does he have to give up 9 consecutive homers to have a bad start?
  4. Yayyyyy, a scoreless inning from Garland. That's like 3 today. He's getting better!
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) How do you know Crede would have been thrown out last night? Gomez ain't exactly an all - star out in LF, and doesn't have the greatest defense and arm out there by all reports. Cora likes to be aggressive because it puts pressure on the fielder to make the play. If Crede is held at third, and doesn't score, it's still a 3-3 game, and we could have very well lost last night. You take the good with the bad, but in no way is Joey Cora as bad as Wally was. I'm not going to argue this with you, because basically everyone but you and jphat admits that it was an awful decision. And don't put words into my mouth. I didn't say Joey Cora is as bad as Wally was, but those plays were.
  6. I'm glad to hear the fans booing Garland. He deserves every bit of it. I also hope they let Mackowiak hear it when he comes up to bad.
  7. Forget this game. Wow, what a terrible display.
  8. Haha, that was pathetic. f*** you, Rob Mackowiak. This is on you.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) Joey Cora's always been aggressive and that's never going to change. That's how Ozzie likes to manage. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. If Cora doesn't send the runner last night, and we don't end up scoring, people here are going to be second guessing him for that. It's practically a no win situation. I don't know why I'm going to argue this, because everything you're going to say is "it's a no-win situation because we'll complain either way," but here I go. Cora sent two of the slowest guys on the team in situations where they would be gunned out. These were ridiculously obvious choices. I could understand if it's someone with speed, or if our guys weren't so f***ing far away from the plate. Those were terrible decisions and they were waving wallyesque.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Exactly. So going up against a good pitcher who normally does pretty well against you, wouldn't you want to be agressive and try to get all the runs you can? THey ahad a good relay play. A hell of a lot of times it isn't a good relay play. I updated sometime a thte end of may. Jeez, he was out by a mile. The relay man had the ball basically while JD was still on 3rd. The LFer had the ball as Crede touched 3rd last night. Those were two absolutely terrible decisions, and he got lucky on one of them.
  11. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) nice job by garland, it seems that the tigers only hit hr's, they havent done a good job scoring runs w/out the long ball in this series That reminds me of a certain team from a few years ago. You know what I just realized? I feel the same way the Yankees' fans did when Rowand played well against them last year. I see this great player in a position which is extremely weak for us, and I really want him on our team.
  12. Nice inning to pitch over the leadoff double.
  13. Pitchers somehow settle in all the time when an offense lets them off the hook. Jphat, I know you're going to argue this because it has a shred of negativity towards the Sox, but it's a normal occurance in baseball.
  14. The Gambler has settled in. Thank you, Joey Cora.
  15. So that's what a good offensive and defensive CFer looks like.
  16. I think a lot of people complained, because it was a terrible decision. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he sent him in retrospect, but he was out by a mile if their LF didn't just f*** up.
  17. At least we got to feel good about Garland for 2 innings. I know I'm late for this, but Joey Cora might be legally retarded. That was terrible, and I'm tired of Hawk defending him.
  18. They said on PTI yesterday that the first game of the Women's College Softball World Series got higher ratings than game one of the Stanley Cup Finals. Yes, hockey has fallen off. I just realized the question was how far has hockey fallen off, and not whether or not it has. The answer, then, is "laughably."
  19. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) Somewhere Jabroni is crying. So, what was your favorite moment of the Jeff Nelson era? His stay here is almost as memorable as the immortal Jose Paniagua's stint a few years back. What happened to him?
