  1. Soxtalk tired of Garland
  2. What the hell are we supposed to do with Sanders or Soriano? Soriano's production would be nice, but we need a CF.
  3. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) Dick Butkus was always my personal favorite hard ass SOB. This automatically eliminates Butkus from the argument. The cast of "Hang Time"
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) And he can fight too, LOL! That avatar's hilarious. Where did you get it? And is it from something?
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) I guess he was before my time. I know some stuff about him but don't remember much. From what LCR says, the guy is a beast. He's still around. His time is pretty much Foley's time. He was just never in WWF, so he's not known as well.
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) I understand that, I didnt call Funk a druggie. A good portion of that show was about those two, and I just mentioned he was in bad shape because, like you said, he shoulndt be able to walk because of his hardcore persona. It is sad to see a mans family cry because he wants to have another match. Jake has really lost it. I remember him at the height of his mullet-ness, and I loved watching him wrestle whether he was the heel(most of the time) or the face. Trust me Trust me Trust me Trust me EDIT: And I'd like to mention that Earthquake is responsible for the quickest elimination in Royal Rumble history, when he threw out one of the Bushwhackers in about 3 seconds.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) If your talking wrestlers, can anyone beat the grittiness of Mankind Mick Foley? Also, from what I have read and seen, Ty Cobb was one BAMF. Others that come to mind: Pete Rose, Ronnie Lott, Jack Tatum, Jack Lambert, Brett Favre, and Deacon Jones. Yes, and LCR named him. Foley is nuts, but I don't even know what to call Sabu. I saw that barbed wire match, and I still can't believe that he tore it out of himself and continued that match.
  8. I wish he would just get a couple of hits a week. Man, he is so bad offensively. You'd think he'd just run into one every once in a while. I am definitely glad for his defense, though. But, remember when a lot of us thought he could hit 15-20 homers this year? Ha, were we ever off.
  9. That was a nice, nice win. Makes me feel good. How about Cotts getting fired up after giving up the HR? I think that might be one of those things to get him going really well again.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) The Twins are rumored to be looking to dump players soon. Let's get us some Lew Ford or Torii Hunter. I'd be extremely happy with either one.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 06:29 PM) It's usually pretty hard to take a knuckleballer seriously when they don't fit into the usual tools people scout for. But then every so often a good one comes along, and winds up winning a lot of games, and no one has a clue how he does it. Which is why I think Haeger should be in the big leagues pretty soon...he's not going to learn much more in AAA than he's getting right now. I just hope someone out there is willing to take a gamble on him, since he's on the one team with the least amount of room. I just don't think we'd get anything very good for Haeger, the more that I think about it. There's only a successful knuckleballer once in a long while. I doubt a team would give us anything of value for what seems to be a long shot in Haeger.
  12. I just feel like nobody really takes Haeger seriously. I mean, people here probably don't really believe he'll actually succeed on a long-term basis in the majors.
  13. Anyone think Broadway would be the pitcher to go in any deal?
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) Goldberg. I don't think the people who responded actually got this joke. Anyway, I would much rather they let Julie "The Cat" Gaffney play, but they don't let women on the team.
  15. See, I'm starting to think of Garland's contract as a sunk cost. Throwing him out there every fifth day isn't going to make the contract more worth it if he continues to pitch this way. The money is his no matter what, so why not go with the better start if it is possible?
  16. Didn't Lofton have a problem in the Sox clubhouse?
  17. What would people say are the actual chances that Garland goes to the pen? I really never even thought of it as an option, but it seems to be becoming more and more believable.
  18. He actually "killed" Damien. What a sad day that was...
  19. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) So what are his options? I have no clue. I can just see him making him the starting CF, but then retract that after having about a full week of Mack in center. It would be a catastrophe.
  20. I refuse to believe that Ozzie is stupid enough to actually make Mack the starting CF and keep him there for any real amount of time.
  21. Man, do we ever have a problem in CF. That makes me believe KW has to be doing something soon. I mean, it's not just a bad problem, it's horrendous.
  22. You should say he pitched a bad game because he gave up 6 runs.
  23. And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. Garland was garbage, just like he's been the rest of the year.
  24. Haha, Garland pitched like s***. Jeez, does he have to give up 9 consecutive homers to have a bad start?
