  1. I actually felt comfortable with the lead, too. It was probably a mix of Contreras, not being in the game thread, and changing the channel between pitches.
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Pods, LF Ozuna, 2B Everett, DH Konerko, 1B Rowand, CF Dye, RF Blum, 3B Widger, C Uribe, SS Garcia, RHP Oh man...I hope Freddy pitches a perfect game. Also, Ozuna shouldn't be that high in the order. He doesn't take pitches.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) Jeff Bajenaru and Ross Gload would be the obvious options. Of course it would most likely end being Joe Borchard and Dave Sanders or Kevin Walker knowing how KW rates some players in the upper levels of our minor league system. I'd like to see Anderson get called up though if there if a vacancy, but I doubt that will happen before September anyway. It is kind of funny how a lot of the people that defend Ozzie (saying that he knows how to manage better than any of us) also criticize KW/Ozzie for never bringing up Baj.
  4. Favorite Rice Crispies Character: Crackle, oddly enough
  5. I remember when KC and TB had a series against each other a couple weeks ago. When the idea of those two titans clashing, I could'nt wipe the smile off of my face. There can't be a reason to go to a game like that.
  6. HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was much easier on the nerves to switch channels between pitches. I feel a lot better than I usually do.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) BTW, Heads, yes, once I start filling out applocations, sending essays, asking for visits and info, no doubt in my mind my desk will be piled up with letters. You actually keep those? I kept them for a while when I was a Sophomore, but it gets annoying when 10-20 pile up on your desk every single day.
  8. QUOTE(Molto @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) You didn't really make a point there. He said he went 2-for-4 and was blamed for the loss and because he will be playing a loss is expected. some of you guys really need to stop being, what's the word ... dumb. Whether Perez bats 5th, 9th or on the bench, this offense is struggling, with Perez being the least of their problems. Timo was the least of their problems last night. His .21something average is certainly not the least of their problems for the entire season.
  9. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) Btw, Griffey just hit another Dong, this time of off Prior. Everyone's hitting homers off of Prior recently. But let's not start making fun of the Cubs, lest we get a stern talkling-to from someone ( ) around here.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) I would say that's fairly accurate. In the heat of the battle, you feel certain ways, etc. Could I express myself better in the gamethreads? Of course I could. However, I'm going to stand up for what I say in the thread if I really believe it. The fact that I don't consider the Sox a lock to make the playoffs shouldn't make me a bad fan. I'm a soldier! I'm a soldier! /Kellen Winslow II
  11. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) and with those god awful averages we're still 4-4. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) I guess the good news is that even with this funk we are 4-4 in August....
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Wow, another negative thread from "Greg Hibbard", why am I not surprised? 11 of your last 15 topics have been negative. You'd think we were 13.5 Games back instead of 13.5 games up. 12.5
  13. That's f***ing horses***. Now I really hope we hit one of their players...and hard. It would've been sweet for Jenks to throw some heat at Arod's melon yesterday.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Because Buehrle and Garland haven't done anything whatsoever to keep the Sox in contention or win ballgames for them. No, the offense is winning games for the White Sox.
  15. Wait, the fans punched Pods in the face?
  16. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Thanks for the help, brother. Any other tips on how to be a jackass? There's this place in Boston called Fenway park. I'm sure they can teach you there. They seem to be awfully good at it.
  17. Wait, who was their other guy? I know Ryan Franklin.
  18. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) when is carl come back? i had to admit having Timo hit in the 5th slot is kind of a joke. and as much as i love A.J. he doesn't belong in the 3rd slot. hopefully ozzie learned from tonites lineups mistakes. but as far as the 1st base umpire goes :finger you were terrible in Oakland and your terrible in New York. Does he have it out for us or something? Did he grow up a Cub fan? Did Ozzie screw his wife? Podsednick was safe at 1B and A-Rod clearly interfered with that play. Carl coming back isn't going to help much. We need another offensive threat.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) If it's so s***ty, stop watching. Do us all a favor. I said something good about Jenks. Take it easy, killer. 2 outs.
  20. Ahh, Bobby Jenks shines hope on even the s***tiest of games.
  21. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Think Ozzie well tell Carl to get off his ass and pitch hit for Timo? Carl is awful from the left side, but he's better than Timo. Ugh, whatever.
