QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Ok I'll bite, how did that happen? Your wallet was probably in the back pocket of your pants, which are around your ankles near the floor. You were sitting on the toilet, so it's probably air tight, with no room for anything to fall into it. Please explain. I'll bet that he went to stand up to grab some TP, and the pocket got caught on the seat, thus allowing the wallet to slide out. That's the best I can come up with. That, or a mugger came in, took the wallet, heard a cop coming, the guy tried to wrestle the wallet back away from the mugger, the mugger pushed him away and let go of the wallet which fell into the toilet, and the mugger jumped out the window and down the escape ladder. I've been watching too much Monk recently.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) FWIW, GEorge Offman said this AM that 3 sources confirmed that a Griffey trade was in the works, with Griffey agreeing to waive his no-trade to the sox Soxtalk, WSI, and the MLB board

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) Ouch. Even though Crede isn't all that great with the bat all of us realized how important he is when he went down and we had Ozuna there. Crede has saved the sox a lot of runs out there with his glove and once I realized that I am ok with him. I can't really think of anyone who could replace him that wouldn't cost us much talent or money wise. Which is why I said s***ty hitter. Not player, not defender, but hitter.
-
I'm sure Crede realizes he's a s***ty hitter. It feels like the guy's having a career year, and he's batting .248.

They've now got 2 wins with me in attendance. Geez, I must be a terrible jinx. Great job, MB, Gooch.............PK. We need some offense, though. This is just a really bad offense. -

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) LOL, I think you just described the majority of the NFL, especially with the pothead/narcotic thing. I'm sure those are also widely used in MLB (we don't need the NBA lesson on this subject), well speed/greenies are widely used, and pot is just used by a lot of people overall (90% of my high school, but not me ), and there have been rumors that Buerhle and Garland are big potheads, but I don't know, from my experiences, it could be anyone, may not be those who would be obvious candidates, but may be those you don't expect I've heard the Garland thing, too. A girl friend of mine, who is also a big stoner, hung around with him a few times. She could be lying, of course. And I've also heard that he's cleaned it up since getting a girlfriend or something like that. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Thats another thing thats doubtful. 4 of UNC's top recruits were kicked out of the program for using pot. That was 4 4 star recruits that helped make up a top 20 class in the nation. They have very strict testing and don't show any favor to "star" players. UNC lost Adarius Bowman who was a top 10 receiver in his class, Puff Thomas who was a top 15 DT in the same class, Terry Hunter who was a top 25 DE, and Fred Sparkman who was a top 25 LB in the same class. Listen, I'm not saying you are lying, I just know of facts that refute what you are saying. I don't doubt that Julius has smoked pot, as I would say over 50% of college athletes probably have unfortunately. I do know that there were never EVER any rumors of anything more with Julius. Rumors like that get out pretty easily, just 2 years ago rumors were abound that Jeff Smoker was a big cocaine addict. Also, the message board that has the info is far from afraid to report the truth. They reported all the time that Julius was lazy at UNC and that Jaworski Pollack a UNC receiver slept with a teammates girlfriend and the former teammate caught them together and beat the crap out of Jawarski, yet the teammate was kicked off the team and nothing happened to Jawarski. Lots of crap has happened in the program, but nothing has ever even been insinuated about Julius. Thats why I'm such a big fan. I'll be the first to hate on Julius if he is indeed found to have used steroids. I defended Marion Jones to "The Cheat" on the board for the longest time, but now I see its kind of "funny" that Marion can't run for crap now after the allegations came out. But its been the opposite with Julius, he's actually become a much better player and even a better athlete AFTER the allegations and the increased testing occured on him. Listen, I'm just going with what a teammate of his told me. Let's put it this way. If everyone on Earth told me that Frank Thomas was clean, but let's say Mark Buehlre tells me he used steroids, I'll believe Buehrle. That's just all it is for me. -

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) I don't know how anyone is defending the sox right now, they are hitting like s***. Tip your cap to the pitcher when he deserves it but today he deserved to get rocked and that didn't happen because they just can't stop trying for that god damn home run. I also hope they won't be doing this crap in the post, its gonna be a lot different knowing they can't lose so it will be a lot more intense but doing good going into the post wouldn't hurt. Joel Piniero sucks. He flat out sucks. Anybody who says differently is wrong. He sucks right now, he might've been good at some point in the past, but sucks now. This offense sucks. I can't even expand on that. It flat out sucks balls. -
We need somebody, and fast. This offense is eerily similar to that of years past. Score an ass-load of runs in one game, offense disappears for the next 2 or 3. Carl Everett was a s***ty #3 hitter to begin with. Now we don't even have him for a few days.

Oh, and we really, really need a f***ing bat in this line-up. This offense sucks ridiculous ass. There's gotta be a bat out there. There just HAS to be. This offense is pathetic. I can't wait for more solo homers. Those are great! -

Another piss-poor game that I made the mistake of attending. God, I'm sick of how bad they are when I'm there (sick of how bad they are at home in general, too). It always feels like they lose because I'm there. 1.) Maybe we should swing for homers more. That seems to work very well. 2.) When's the last time Garcia even had a good game? Even though today wasn't as bad as he has been, it still wasn't good. 3.) Wasn't Joel Pineiro gonna be designated for assignment like 3 days ago? Yet he beats the s*** out of the White Sox. I swear this team isn't the same team from the first half of the year. Man, I hope this is just a slump. JOEL f***ING PINEIRO? That's pathetic. There was also one good thing about today...Bobby Jenks. I cannot wait until this guy finally comes completely together. He's gonna be one of the best closers baseball has ever seen. I'm talking Eric Gagne-type closer. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) If it is Giambi, he should be suspended longer than the first offense of 10 days based on his testimony. Yeah, but there's not a chance in hell that they'll do it. If it's Giambi, he should be shot in the head for being such a dumbass. -

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) easy....people can like multiple teams...as a kid and still today I am a HUGE White Sox fan but the Red Sox were always my second favorite team. I don't see anything wrong with that. The Red Sox were my favorite team...until I went out there for school. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Like I said in the other post, it probably won't be announced until Monday. Somebody said it might be a joke, so I just wanted to see if it actually ended up being one. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a joke before I anticipated this on Monday. -
QUOTE(Balance @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) So we've all still got a shot with Kate Hudson! I know you were making a joke, but this quote says otherwise. It seems we've got a better shot with her husband.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) On my way to lunch today, Dan Patrick said another large fish has been fried, and MLB is just waiting to release information. I have no clue how credible he is. So, has Patrick said anything else about this? Did it end up being a joke? -

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) What if someone is selling a parking pass to one of the Red lots? I was told by a season ticket holder that this was a possibility. Don't know about that one. I just park on the streets because I can. I never park in the lots unless I'm with someone with season tickets, and then I just don't pay attention. -
Congratulations. And here's to many more Paul Konerko still sucks, though

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Really? Didn't know that. Have to take that into account next time I go to the game. Thanks for the advice. If you're talking about the Sox street parking passes, then yes, it's illegal to sell them. And a word of advice. If anyone tries to make you pay to park on a certain stretch of curb and you already have a parking pass, don't pay them. They have absolutely no legal right to tell you to pay them or park somewhere else. -

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) You can only park in the green lots if you don't have a pass. To park in the red lots, you need a red coupon. You can always get off at 31st street and see if anyone is selling parking passes on the street. Illegal.
