  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 22, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) That's what I'm leaning towards Seems like the only logical choice to me. Walker has had no use here. Viz just has been sucking like no other. Timo may have friends, but he's of much less use than Willie and Ozuna.
  2. Can everyone at least agree that it should be a combination of Walker, Timo, and Vizcaino?
  3. Now it looks like the loss might hurt us. You would think that Ozzie and KW would smarten up and send Viz to the minors, but the more I think about it, the more I know Ozzie will trot LV out against the Angels the first chance he gets.
  4. I'm happy, too. I can think of another positive: maybe Ozzie and KW realize how bad Viz is and send him to the minors. That's be a huge positive. The starting staff is solid (especially with McCarthy backing everyone up!) The hitters are finally here The bullpen is solid, minus Viz (Cotts isn't great, but he is perfect for mop-up duty) Get rid of Viz and hopefully Baj can help, then we're set.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 22, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) For the most part it's not a bad idea but with Brandon it is. That's a good way to do it for a pitcher to gain confidence and realize he can pitch in the show. Bmac knows he can pitch here and he needs to be taking the ball every 5 days to improve even more. 6-man rotation, let's get it done!
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) I watched the game with my buddy and I had to get something out of my car. When I came back I asked my buddy, "So did Vizcaino give up a bomb?" Yep, I knew it was going to happen. Vizcaino is indeed a bum. I saw him warming when the Sox were still batting. Knew that couldn't be good. When he came in, I asked my brother why they were doing it and said he's going to give up a homer. It's too easy with this guy.
  7. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) Still looks like we will have a 6 game lead, and we took 2 of 3 from the Cubs. Bad loss, but nothing to hang our heads about. Could and should be up 7 games. We need every win.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) come on people, he gave up a pop fly homer, it wasnt a bad pitch, and any other day that would have been in the mitt. Great game by everyone, good series, lets take em at the CELL It's not just about one game. LV has sucked so bad this year. He is hurting the team.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) If Viz could throw his fastball for strikes he'd be a lot more dominate, unfortunately the only thing he throws for strikes is his slider and pitchers just wait for him to leave it up (and he does it far too often) and bam...HR. Let's send this bag of s*** to the Cubs, they could always use another BP arm. Sure, he sucks, but he's better than most of their guys. This is the first guy that I've said we should trade for anything. He truly is worthless here. Get a prospect or something out of him.
  10. I think this is the one player on this team that deserves his own thread that says he needs to go. This whole year, we've had thread on just about everyone, PK, Dye, Contreras, Garcia, Timo, etc. But, all of those guys have been good for this team at some point. They've all come out of their funks. Vizcaino has not done this. He has sucked on a consistent basis this entire season. He hasn't earned a spot on this club. He always lets runners score and he can't hold a lead or last more than 1 inning without sucking. This guy is pure garbage now. He can't survive on two pitches. It's time to say goodbye to Viz and bring up Bajenaru.
  11. Cub "fans" celebrate like they won the World Series. A big f*** you to Luis Vizcaino. I hope you never pitch for the Sox again because you certainly don't deserve it. A big congratulations goes out to Brandon McCarthy. You really stepped up in a pressure-filled situation and flat out performed. You have an extremely bright future. In conclusion, f*** Vizcaino. He needs to go. Absolute hot garbage.
  12. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) here's to hoping prior's arm falls off since dusty dones't have a bullpen. I was thinking that exact same thing. Let them get a cheap win off of us to appease their fans and screwing up Prior in the process.
  13. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) It always seems like we give a game away to the Cubs. I don't know if you would call giving this away, but there shouldn't have been that homer. I'd call it giving it away. Viz had no business touching the mound in a close game. Pretty much any other reliever (besides Cotts, who lets all inherited runners score) would have gotten the job done.
  14. Alright, no more optimism. This one's over.
  15. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Carl would be the best option. With the way he's been batting from the left side recently? He looks like a pitcher when he's batting LH now. I'd much rather have Harris, as long as he kept the ball down.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) I sure hope we pinch hit with timo again like yesterday. If Prior is still pitching, it actually might just be Timo. I'd rather have Harris, though, if it has to be a lefty.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Vizcaino has had excuses all year. I wonder now if he should be gone with Timo when Frank gets back. How much is Viz making? At this point, he should be paying us to pitch.
  18. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Terrible inning for us. I think a L is in the cards today. We're going to PH someone to start off the next inning, then it's the top of the order. We're definitely not out of it, yet. They just have to shut down the Cubs' offense for a few innings.
  19. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) i agree, vizcy has been downright awful, no idea why ozzie still believes in him, he tends to do that with some guys (ie: timo). Pulling Bmac was the right move though No doubt about pulling McCarthy. Just should've used someone else. Damn it, Uribe.
  20. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 22, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) no, i'm not mad. 1) we already won the series, i don't expect my team to sweep every series. 2) I wasn't expecting a W today, with a ML debut AND prior on the mount. 3) That ball was a flyout in every other park. 4) we're the best team in baseball, i'm not gonna flip out after a loss, we're due. I wasn't expecting to win at all, either. And I'm happy that we won the series, but I'm not mad that we might lose this game. It's how this happened. Viz is downright bad this year and he had no right to be in there. When I saw him warming up the last inning, I was wondering why he would come in. Oh, well... First two men on, Dye up.
  21. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 22, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) i'm starting to agree with you, way too many drama queens. You're not mad? I can honestly say I haven't been this mad the whole year. McCarthy was having a great game. Vizcaino has been truly awful this year, and he had no reason to be in this game. He can't even be a mop-up guy because he can't last more than 1 inning. At least we can still win this game. f***in Viz.
  22. What is wrong with Ozzie? It's clear that Viz sucks this year, yet he brings him into close games. f***, I'm so pissed. I threw my coke off the wall.
