  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) Don't overreact about it. It's not going to be the difference between losing and winning a championship. Raines may have been a benefit at first base, but then again, anyone whose a good basestealer knew the art well before talking with Raines. he was more than a benefit. Plus we will miss him trying to beat out the throw at 1B.
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) why is that Josh. Any real reason besides you dont like it? Because Rock Raines is in the top ten in stolen bases in the history of the game. I thought he had a big impact with the sox being one of the best base stealing teams in the league. Sure you can talk about Pods but it happened with other guys to. Jermaine Dye had 11 stolen bases. People in Oakland were comparing him to Konerko in terms of speed. Plus I think Baines is a pretty good Bench Coach. So there is your f***ing reason.
  4. I really hope this article is a bunch of crap or a misunderstanding. This is not a good move.
  5. 1. Scott Podsednik, LF 2. Juan Uribe, SS 3. Jim Thome, DH 4. Paul Konerko, 1B 5. Tadahito Iguchi, 2B 6. Jermaine Dye, RF 7. A.J. Pierzynski, C 8. Joe Crede, 3B 9. Brian Anderson, CF
  6. I think using Mackowiak in CF is a big no-no. He isn't here to be a CF. He is here to be a super sub and he has been one of the best utility guys in the game the last few years. Let Anderson play center. We don't need him to set the world on fire. Just hit .250-.270 with 15-20 Home Runs and play good defense.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) As long as the Widge doesn't catch Jose. For some reason he just never clicked with the Cubans all last year. The Widge also did a dandy job of catching MB last year. He was the catcher for that 1:43 game if I remember right. yes he was.
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) http://www.nps.gov/liho/slavery/al01.htm I have read a couple biographies on him and he discovered Slavery when he was in his 20's. He hated it. He never talked about it when he was running for president because if he did he would of had no chance at being president.
  9. If you are registered before hand is that ok? I registered like 2 years ago.
  10. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) Actually Lincoln didn't give a s*** about slavery... He didn't really free anyone... In fact he was actually a racist... As for Washington... Well I just never liked the name... really? Why was he in support of starting the Civil War and in support of the north? Have you ever studied him or read about him to know why he hated slavery?
  11. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) I would think so. He had 8 saves for the World Champs, and was with the team for more than 1/2 the season. Thanks again, Shingo, and GOOD LUCK back in Japan! GONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!!!!! he did contribute. So obviously he has to get a ring. He was always a class act and it was so fun to watch the hitters look like retards in 04 and parts of 05 with the frisbee. When they got him I predicted he would be the closer even after ST.
  12. There were so many however I would have to go with either the dual performance of Buehrle-Shingo on Opening Day or Buehrle's 1 hr 39 minute game against the Mariners
  13. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) You are a total f***ing idiot. Back in your bubble dumbass! :rolly i agree Bush is an awful president but Lincoln and Washington? WTF is he smoking. I hope this was a joke.
  14. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Top 5 worst presidents: 5) Abarham Lincoln (thank god the bastard was shot) 4) Ronald Regan 3) Andrew Jackson 2) George Washington (so overrated) 1) ..... and GEORGE W. BUSH The W in his name stands for WORTHLESS PEICE OF s***! I guess slavery was a great thing. Are you out of Your f***ING MIND!
  15. Why isn't George W. Bush on there? I am not sure whether I would vote for him but he has f***ed things up pretty bad for 2 countries. You guys really think there were Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq? What about the CIA agent who had her cover blown because her husband (who worked for the President) discovered there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction and that this was all for oil? The only reason Bush is in office is because his f***ING BROTHER IS THE MOTHERf***ING GOVERNER OF FLORIDA!
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) Honestly, what History classes talk about Sierra Leone and Liberia, especially long enough to devote entire classes to the showing of Lord of War? my history class did Freshman year. I did a whole report on Blood Diamonds.
  17. Good Widger should the personal catcher for Vazquez. Give Pierzynski a day off
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 01:31 AM) The Exorcist is the one movie that flat scares the hell out of me. Simply because I've done a little reading and listened to people detail some supposed true exorcisms and well quite frankly the fact that some of the stuff seen in the movie has been documented by the church as to happen (not in the setting of the movie or anything, but they claim some of the symptons of the girl have happened). For example...IIRC there was a person supposedly posessed in a farm in Iowa (I think thats where it was) and the person ended up throwing up this film all over the church and it was documented into the records. I have no idea how true it was and it was part of an art bell series on exorcism I heard a few years back (back when he was doing the show full time). It was interesting stuff and after hearing all about that I saw the movie for the 1st time (when they brought it back to theatres) and I must say I had trouble sleeping. Not since I saw "it" when I was like 8 or 9 had I been that scared, and yes, I realize that was a totally lame movie, but it scared the hell out of me and my friends (first horror I ever saw). for me a very very scary movie is The Others and Silence of the Lambs. Both movies don't have a ton of violence (Hannibal was not scary) however they are great at Psychological Horror. The Exorcist is another movie that is great at Psychological Horror. Not over the top violent but the topic is scary enough.
  19. I saw Lord of War on Saturday and I thought it was one of the best movies i have seen this year. It is so powerful especially the scenes in Sierra Leone where they show in detail the Blood Diamonds. One of the best anti-violence movies and a movie that needs to be shown in history class when they talk about Sierra Leone and Liberia. I also liked the dark humor and there are some scenes that are funny. A very brave performance by Nicolas Cage and Jared Leto turned in a great performance.
  20. I saw the Island. Thought it was a very good movie. This is a must see for Sci-Fi fans.
  21. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) He has said his star ratings and thumbs up mean very little... it's just something he has to do. To get how he truly feels you have to read his reviews. He has some of the best reviews out there because he describes what the movie is about so well. I know the majority of the time how i will feel about a movie by just reading what he says ( even if i disagree with him... because there are certain things he does not like that i do). he reviews the film based on what the director intended to do and what he and the audience going to the movie expect.
  22. Jai Eugene isn't going to Michigan. He is going to LSU. He selected Michigan however he decided to go to LSU instead at the last minute. The reason was because he has a baby and he wants to be closer to the baby. He lives near LSU. I respect his decision.
