  1. Let's see if Lovie has the balls to pull the great Rex Grossman
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) I love how we can draw these conclusions without any of you having listened to him calling a game. Farmer doing Play By Play is bad enough.
  3. The Sox might of just gone from best radio team in the AL to worst radio team in the AL.
  4. Saturday Washington Seattle New England Denver Sunday Pittsburgh Indianapolis Carolina Chicago
  5. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jan 12, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) There is a guy at my work that loved Fantastic Four and wanted me to watch it.....so I did...and i though it was a piece of s***...had some parts, but overall sucked. The thing that bothers me is that he said it was better than Batman Begins. And I'm serious when I say the he is serious about that. This is a guy that also said the Shield is hyped too much and has very bad acting...needless to say i don't take any film or tv advice from him anymore for what it was it was pretty good. It wasn't great but it was entertaining. It was a Summer Action Movie.
  6. Why not hire Stone? He is still under contract with the Score i believe and he did play with the Sox?
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:38 PM) Did you actually see all of these or is list this from a website? i saw them. Why would I lie?
  8. No! Lisa Dergan is to valuable to this franchise!
  9. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 07:54 AM) Jeffery Westhoff of The Northwest Herald had an interesting review of Brokebacl Mountain. Maybe one of you who have seen it can tell me how well he hits the nail on the head: I agree.
  10. I can't wait to see The New World. I am gonna see it opening night.
  11. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) The Straight Dude's Guide to 'Brokeback' Worth a read if you find yourself being dragged to this movie. The main reason being Anne Hathaway. if the girlfriend loves Gyllenhaal she should see Jarhead instead. He is much better in that and that is a much better movie.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) I don't know.. I think either of these guys in our pen would have us longing for Kevin Walker. Lopez is MUCH BETTER. He is a huge upgrade over Walker.
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) Randolph has major control issues. Over 600 walks issued between minors and the show. you know he is bad when the cubs got rid of him last year with their bullpen problems. I think Lopez is a good signing though.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) no. May I ask what prompted you to go to the gay cowboy movie in the first place? I mean, you had to know it was a gay cowboy movie before you went. So one would suspect that it wasn't the plot line that you found unsatisfactory. I know it wasn't the actors because you specifically stated. so It must have been the cinematography. Perhaps the musical score. 4 things: 1. The Screenplay was awful. It's like an over the top action picture. 2. We never get a reason why they like each other. They just fall for each other. There has to be a reason. We are just supposed to assume that they love each other. In a not so serious movie this might be ok but they are playing it off as a drama. 3. The movie is confused. I think it tries to send the message that being gay is all right and that you should follow what your heart does. However this almost sends off a message about how being gay is wrong and that you shouldn't follow your feelings. 4. They try to hard. It seems everything is set up. A good drama doesn't try to hard to be powerful. It almost seems forced. It trys so hard to be dramatic and powerful that it almost becomes comic.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) I thought they only showed movies that were out of the theaters on planes? I really don't know, though, since I've never been on a flight that was long enough for an in-flight movie. movies that are out but not yet on DVD.
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) 4th worst movie of the year. and 2. TWO! actors should warrant Oscar consideration? Pick a lane. Ever hear of not liking the movie but thinking the performances are very good.
  17. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) No mentions of the constant gardener, capote, proof, north country, good night and good luck ( and i hate robert downey jr... he should not be allowed to act)? All of these will be getting mentioned for something come the oscars. Straithairn may very well give phillip seymore hoffman a run for him money, I think Hoffman is a pretty safe bet.
  18. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) you seriously have "son of the mask" as better than "brokeback mountain"??? i mean i didnt particularly love brokeback, but dude, come on. the acting, if nothing else was pretty damn good. that alone should put it above most of those others you listed expectations. Only reason I saw son of the mask was because it was playing on an airplane. I had low expectations going in. Brokeback Mountain was a movie that I had expectations nad I thought failed more. I was more dissapointed in Brokeback Mountain than Son of the Mask because I expected nothing from it to begin with.
  19. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) Of the movies I saw, I thought Sin City was decent but grossly overrated. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was disappointing, and this is coming from a reader. Jarhead was yet another disappointment just because it had such a kickass trailer. I understand there are people here who will never like Brokeback Mountain and that's fine, but Heath Ledger should get some serious Oscar consideration for his performance. I agree about Heath Ledger and would also add Michelle Willaims to that. What did you expect going into Jarhead? An action movie right?
  20. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) i completely agree with your analysis of the movie. (still dont think its in the top 10 WORST) but yeah i had such huge expectations for the movie but i walked out with the same reaction you had. What I mean by that is if I were a movie critic I would give it 2 stars however I had such high expectations and it failed on an epic level for me.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) I was kidding about Get Rich or Die Tryin' but I was dead serious about the others. IMO, Transporter 2 was badass. Not necessarily the best, but one of my favs of 2005. And Four Brothers was an excellent movie. Have you seen it? Four Brothers was a great movie. However Transporter 2 was awful IMHO. I liked the first one but this had no plot. It was just there to give us a bunch of "good looking" stunts. Really stupid movie IMHO.
  22. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 06:03 PM) You would... it had an all star cast. Maybe it's because i am a huge fan of the game but I thought it was well done considering it was made on a really small budget.
  23. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) I know why it was so similar... I just said I didn't like movies that take 10 of the craziest things that probably happened at some point and assign those things to 6 people. It's just not realistic. those are what happened to this guy though. I didn't think they were all that crazy.
  24. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) Uwe boll will go down in history as the worst director ever once his new batch of movies comes out. He is already one of the worst so he doesn't have far to go... I thought BloodRayne was very good.
  25. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 05:31 PM) it's very much american beauty-esque... the craziest problems in the world happen to 6 people. C+ movie at best. Sam Mendes directed American Beauty so that is probably why that is the case. I don't think that though. I think this is a much better movie than American Beauty and I liked American Beauty.
