  1. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) First of all, don't tell me to use my brain for 5 seconds. Second, I am not an Iowa fan. Never have been, never will be. Third, this world and every business functions on being held accountable. College football is a public event. Just as public corporations are required to make aspects of their company known to the public, college sports should make aspects of their operation known to the public. Officials are an integral part of sporting events. Just like, say, expenses are an integral part of a business. When people screw up and overspend, you're damn right it's made known to the public and there are consequences. Just as there should be consequences for these officials. A simple press release stating: So and so was relieved of his duties as an offical for XXX Conference would be easy enough. Again, there should be accountability. How's that for using my brain? How about just not having Sun Belt and Conference USA officials calling games if neither a Conference USA team or a Sun Belt team is in it.
  2. Iowa was the one down 31-7. Next time don't wait 3 quarters to play well. The refs didn't help and i thought it was an awful call however the refs weren't responsible for Iowa getting down 31-7. Although Conference USA officials calling a game between an SEC team and a BIG 10 team is a joke.
  3. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) Ok, I need to hear Jason and Cheat come out and admit they were cocky and wrong about their s***ty Iowa team. I'm so sick of hearing about how Iowa finally has everything in gear and they can play with anyone in the country. BULLs***. It's a bad Iowa team that had no place in the top 25 or on a New Year's Bowl game. Thank you Florida for beating the living s*** out of this joke of a team. Do you think Michigan who beat Iowa at home should've been in the Outback instead. I think Michigan would've provided a more competitive game. Even their losses have been very close. I knew Florida was gonna blow Iowa out.
  4. I doubt he retires. He has a ton of money on his contract and while he might not be one of the very best QB's around anymore if he has more talent he can still be a damn good one.
  5. Finally saw 40 Year Old Virgin. It is funny as hell. What he says to the Asian woman during the body waxing scene was just priceless.
  6. That Orioles-Cubs trade was the opposite of the Podsednik-Lee trade. It was awful for both teams. Jerry Hairston still doesn't know how to read signs and one of the players the Cubs got in return retired. Sosa was a huge bust for the Orioles.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) That movie was mostly made up if you ask me. I saw it. First R Rated movie that I got into by myself. It wasn't scary at all.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) In 2004.... yes in 2004.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) According to Arnie Munoz's minor league numbers at Charlotte in 2005, he started 18 games but pitched in 40 total games. Does anyone have his 2005 stats as a reliever? he had a great september when he was called up by the Sox and used in the bullpen.
  10. Mr. & Mrs. Smith was very entertaining.
  11. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) We will pull what we did last spring. fine with me.
  12. What is the point of trading Contreras unless it is for an impact player? I mean honestly. I think having Contreras for 1 more season gives the Sox a better shot at repeating instead of having a Brandon McCarthy in the 5th spot. Let Contreras walk and in 2007 have Brandon be your 5th starter.
  13. The only teams that do well in ST are the teams that have a ton of holes or aren't that good. Teams like the Royals will probably do very well in ST. Reason why is because they will be playing at lot more MLB players to try to fix the holes and see which guy should play which position. Teams like the White Sox who don't really have any holes right now will just play their regular players for a couple innings and go straight to the young prospect who could get a look in the middle or end of the season.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) He isnt, rumor has it he doesn really watch sports. He was an update guy. Mike Murphy would be perfect. On second thought I don't even want to imagine what a Post Game show would be like with him hosting it.
  15. Just saw Domino. Very weird film however i enjoyed it.
  16. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) Don't I know it. However there were a couple nights.... I was doing this Europe project in 7th grade. It is where you like fake travel to Europe. You print a flight schedule out and you do research about the city and country you are flying to. You have to keep a certain budget. So they suggested you stay in Hostels. I looked them up and one of the hostels didn't have a bathroom. it was a pretty fun project though.
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:06 AM) BEST.QUOTE.EVAR. Somebody search through this very thread. 30 or 40 pages ago, Breston was walking on water to make catches. If you ever watched a Michigan game you would realize that Breaston isn't a great receiver and isn't even the best receiver on his team. BTW the second best receiver in the nation according to TSN is Ted Ginn. Wow they need to get their heads checked.
  18. My parents are going to a wedding on New Years Eve.
  19. I saw Syriana and I loved it. I was lost in the first half hour of the movie however from where Matt Damon was drawing in the sand I finally figured out the plot and had no trouble understanding it. This is a movie that needs good acting and that is what it had. George Clooney was great, as was Damon, Jeffrey Wright, and the Supporting cast was great. The last half hour of this movie is probably one of the most powerful movie endings I have ever seen.
  20. I will also make a prediction that USC won't get to the BCS next year.
  21. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) There is plenty of blame to go around. Let's keep in mind that in Alamo Bowl, Michigan started their 6th different combination on the offensive line. Anyone who thinks a lack of continuity on the offensive line will hurt a team on offense if overlooking a very important part of the game. Massaquoi was hurt for several games this year, including last night. Hart was hurt most of the year. The offense was adjusting after losing Braylon Edwards at WR. You could say that Steve Breaston never really stepped up as a WR threat to help that transition. Guys like Arrington, Tabb and Dutch never stepped up to play a significant role. When you are Michigan and you are playing at least four freshman significant minutes (three on offense) something isn't going right. They don't have the necessary depth at WR right now, when that looked like it was going to be a position of strength. They are losing their top two TE's. I don't think Henne is the big problem here. A lack of depth and injuries hurt this year as much as anything. I could be wrong here, but how many of the QB's in Michigan's "NFL Pipeline" started as a freshman and were expected to be a star as a sophomore. I would be willing to bet the majority of them were eased into the system much more than Henne has been. As frustrating as they were at times, growing pains from Henne should have been expected. Michigan's play calling will always be a bit conservative for me, but I'm no Offensive Coordinator so I won't claim to be an expert on offense. The biggest problem of all for Michigan this year was that the combination of all of the above kept them from developing an ability to put teams away, to win games they should win (Minnesota) and games they should have been able to win (Notre Dame, Ohio State and Nebraska) with less mistakes and taking advantage of opportunities. only guy who stepped up on offense was Jason Avant. Of course Mike Hart did when he was healthy but he wasn't healthy very often. I have said it once and I will say it again: Steve Breaston is an average WR. He is a very exciting player to watch however he has yet to make the leap that most people expected him to make. Did you know who The Sporting News ranked as the #1 WR in the country before the year started? It was Breaston. I was shocked to see that. He is a great KR or PR but he isn't a great Wide Receiver. He needs to step it up and become that #1 Wide Receiver. I think that Michigan has a very good shot to win the Big Ten next year because of how improved their defense is and how weak the Big Ten will be next year. Mike Hart has to stay healthy and if he does he will be a player in the Heisman race. They have some great recruits coming in so that should help things. Henne needs to step up also and if that means having a QB competition so be it.
  22. I am watching the 2004 Michigan State-Michigan game right now.
  23. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) you have never done that before? s***, I do it all the time when I watch college sports. Its an impossible urge to deny. Still though, Nebraska? Michigan shouldnt have been in a position to have to come back with that ninny Callahan on the sidelines. no i never do it. If Michigan loses I will blame Chad Henne most of the time. However they played well and even the broadcasters (I thought Kirk Herbstreit was gonna knock out the refs) were all over them. Did Michigan play perfect? No they made mistakes but all teams do.
  24. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) I'm a Michigan fan. We've sucked all year, that's why this game did not surprise me. This was a team we should have beaten easily and we blew it. I didn't see the whole game but all accoutns say the officiating sucked. Doesn't matter, Michigan sucked this year. Lloyd is probably another bad year away from early retirement. And hopefully Henne removes his head from his ass this spring. you think they should play Gutz? He was supposed to be the starter last year but he had a problem with his arm and he got surgery for it.
