  1. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) Poor Josh.Can't handle the fact that your Michigan Wolverines lost.Blow a 15 point lead to Nebraska.Perfect day for me when Michigan loses.Get over it.You're a whiner when something doesn't go Michigan's way.When they lose,take it like a man. shut the f*** up. Get your facts right. It was an 11 point lead.
  2. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 05:40 AM) The officials did not fumble twice with the lead in the 4th quarter. You can thank Avant and Henne for those give-aways. Bottom line is this was a pathetic, underachieving Michigan team. Has been since the NIU game. Avant's play had nothing to do with it. The Michigan defense held them and forced a punt. That henne play was not a fumble. The replays will show this.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 06:20 AM) Michigan never established a ground game. They didn't score after Nebraska turnovers in their own territory. Michigan turned the ball over twice in the 4th quarter with the lead. The officials were terrible, but they did NOT cost Michigan the game. That game should never have been close. Michigan should have been up at least two touchdowns in the first half and running away with it. b**** about the refs all you want Josh, but Michigan did not play well and the referees were not the reason they lost. that Henne play was the wrong call. It looked like to me that he had thrown the ball and that his arm was hit while he was throwing. I thought that they were gonna call intentional grounding on him because he was just getting rid of the ball. The Avant turnover was stupid however no points came out of it.
  4. QUOTE(Fotop @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 03:19 AM) Michigan lost. You can talk about officiating all you want, but really...it was NEBRASKA. If a team like Michigan, with all the talent they have, can't get in a strong position to win over a down Nebraska team then they're in trouble regardless of bad refs. I don't know what calls everyone is complaining about (I didn't really watch the whole game; I heard it was pretty darn bad though), but the last play of the game was a s***show. No way you can penalize just Nebraska for illegal participation, since Michigan players were on the field as well. However, regardless of the referees, Michigan should have played better; plain and simple. Btw, I REALLY hope they don't fire Lloyd...it'll make ND/Michigan that much easier for Charlie in the coming years. no i am not talking about the last play. This was the whole game. These were Sun Belt Refs. Michigan played a good game IMHO. Henne played well, Avant got to 1,000 yards, Mike Hart showed what he can do when healthy, the pass rush defense was scary good, and Lloyd coached a very good game. This was officiated like a junior high game. And this is the first time I have ever blamed the refs for a loss like this but it just makes me want to hurl.
  5. Keep Palmer and keep Johnson. Even if Holmes comes back he will probably never be the feature back for Kansas City again.
  6. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) I've been hearing that one of the Cornhuskers who helped make the tackle might not have been in the play when it started. There's nothing that can happen anymore but it was #21 supposively. These are Sun Belt refs. You would think the Alamo Bowl would have Major Conference refs just like almost every other bowl game has but no. You know no disrespect to Arkansas State or UL Lafayette but those teams are just not as good as Nebraska and Michigan. These refs have never called a game with that much talent on the field and the game will be harder to officiate for them because of that.
  7. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) wat u mean bout mariotti it was a joke.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Did Michigan get screwed? Yes....but lest we forget that Penn State was screwed out of a perfect season by the clock operator at the Big House. This is just a case of things being evened out by those b****es known as the sports gods. um It should of been more like 4 extra seconds put back on the clock. Penn State didn't get screwed. Trust me I have the DVD of the game and I watched it today. Penn State DID NOT GET SCREWED!
  9. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) You honestly dont think its time for him to go? I mean come on, he is old school. Obviously it isnt working there anymore for him. I really think Michigan needs to find a new coach, Mr. Carr's time has come and gone. Maybe they can hire Cooper.... he won a big ten championship 2 years ago. I blame the players for this season (would've helped if they had a healthy Mike Hart but they still f***ed up) and the refs for this game. I thought Lloyd coached a great game and I thought Michigan played well. That Henne call was awful. The defense looked good at times and the offense seemed to be clicking. Henne looked great and showed his speed for the first time. Plus another 1,000 yard receiver this season. These refs were Sun Belt refs. SUN BELT! GMAFB!
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Talk about a rough bday Josh. Aside from the Michigan game, I hope it was a good one. You were only 20 yards away from a miraculous final play comeback though. i have never done this before but this is the first time I blame the refs. These jackasses were Sun Belt Refs. I have seen High School Refs call a better game. This was on both sides. Michigan played a very good game and they had the Nebraska QB on his ass all day.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) How could they be worn out? Nobody sat in them for years. Jay Mariotti really is on this message board.
  12. I think that the AL Central will be the best division again in the AL. The Red Sox have downgraded and the Yankees IMHO aren't that great (they overpayed for Damon). The Blue Jays have improved but again overpayed for a lot of talent. The Indians will be a threat again and the Twins have quietly improved with Castillo.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) It was for 1 year, or year 1? for year 1 only.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) I think they pulled a fast one on Jon.. He wont have 5 years of service until the end of '06.. per the CBA, no no-trade clauses, no free agency. The team owns your rights 100%. I bet the NT is for year 2 and they are reporting it wrong. Garland said himself that it was for 1 year.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) Source? He was just on ESPN 1000, didnt say anything. he said on ESPN 1000 that he wanted a no-trade clause for the first year and he got it.
  16. Garland won't be traded now. He has a no-trade clause in his first season.
  17. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) You think they are going to pay Javier Vazquez that much money and cause him to upset the lockerrom by having him as a long reliever. Be serious. Also, we can't trade Garland because who would sign an extension with us if we traded them 5 minutes later. Maybe after this year but not now. Lastly, how does traidng Mac and Count for Tejada solve anything? Then we'd have 4 starters! I don't think Contreras and McCarthy are going anywhere.
  18. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) getting Vazquez does not mean he 100% absolutely has to still be a starter by midyear. if McCarthy is what everyone is so sure he'll be (and fast)... then he'll be the #5. Vazquez to long relief. Ozzie will have no problem making that switch if it makes the team better. even with this in mind, Vazquez is going to be more reliable for a whole year than the 41-yr old Duque. Viz was loseable, and Young was behind a lot of OFs in the organization. i dont read this as pushing Contreras out at all. he doesnt make that much next year, so i believe we'll go into 06 with these 6 guys, and then the year after we'll be prepared for one of them leaving. I don't think we will be seeing Vazquez in long relief. All Vazquez has to do as a 5th starter is have a 4.50 ERA. Keep the team in the game. I think he can do much more though especially with Coop as the pitching coach.
  19. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) True, but if we dont make any more moves, he will throw out of the pen and do some spot starts for players who are injured or tired, its nice to have that insurance exactly. Plus he probably won't be used as a Setup man or anything like that. I think he will be used like was whenhe came out of the bullpen last year. He will be a long reliever and ready to go into the rotation in case somebody gets hurt.
  20. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Mccarthy still could use some more games out of the bullpen, i dont think hes ready right now agreed. They will use him like they used Buehrle in 2000. That is the right thing to do.
  21. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) seeing as how we didnt give up anything irreplaceable for Vazquez, i'm liking that one too. if mccarthy is now the long reliever, he's gonna be better than Vizcaino. and then we'd likely need him year after next in the rotation. it all still makes sense. Agreed. As the Sox showed last year it is all about pitching. And the Sox have 1-5 the best starting rotation in baseball.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Any chance KW moves Jose now or does a sign and deal with Jon? Jon isn't going anywhere. I think that Jose will be back and that if they can't get an extension done they will play out the year with Jose and wait for Jose to test Free Agency.
  23. Wow. How far have we come from 2004 when Danny Wright was the 5th Starter and Scott Schoeneweis was the 4th starter.
