  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) It's funny how the only Texan who did his job has the least job security. I agree they shouldn't draft him. NO should. he is a mobile QB. BTW check out the David Carr Game
  2. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) That's cool to see Illinois in the top 25 for you Fighting Illini fans. 4 Big Ten teams in it. yeah. Make your reservations now for the Fiesta Bowl Illini fans. BTW you know who has the #1 recruiting class in the Big Ten.
  3. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) College Football is over................... recruiting season starts. Here are the Rankings so far from Scout.com: 1. Florida 2. Texas 3. Georgia 4. Notre Dame 5. Pittsburgh 6. LSU 7. Oklahoma 8. Michigan 9. Miami (Fl) 10. Florida State 11. USC 12. UCLA 13. Clemson 14. Arizona 15. Auburn 16. Penn State 17. Ohio State 18. Oklahoma State 19. Alabama 20. Texas Tech 21. Texas A&M 22. Mississippi 23. North Carolina 24. Illinois 25. Kentucky Also the East-West game is next week.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) If you're gooing to take that road...did we really need any upgrades this off-season? I mean, we won the World Series. I'm sorry but you don't pass up opportunities to significantly upgrade you're team. Even though we'd be paying a pretty penny, we get the top SS in the MLB. And don't doubt KW getting some kind of prospect or reliever from them either. I'm on the Get Tejada bandwagon. the sox needed a left handed power hitter and they needed to get rid of Marte. They upgraded the Rotation (you can never have enough pitching). They don't need Miguel Tejada. They should be the favorites to win the AL with or without Tejada.
  5. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) What about Kyle Orton? had he stayed healthy last year he probably would've won the heisman (if you recall everybody was making him the favorite by week 6 to win the Heisman. He would've probably been the 1st pick in the NFL draft.)
  6. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) Yeah no kidding. That's a tough call. Stay and be the feature back or leave while you're stock could be as high as it will ever be. he will be a 1st round pick either way but he may slide into the Top 10 instead of going in the late 1st round.
  7. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) Lendale has 26 TD's on the year, and almost 1,300 rushing yards. I don't think his stock will be higher. Other Steelers fans are clamoring for him, atleast up until the last few weeks when Willie broke out again. yeah but he wants to return to school i guess. That is what ESPN and the Newspapers have been reporting. The spotlight will be on him now with Bush gone.
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) If Young goes in to the draft, do you think he could go #1? No. Houston doesn't need a QB. If David Carr had an offensive line he would be a pretty good QB. Draft Bush and use him the way USC used him this season while still having Davis be your feature Back.
  9. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) Is he a senior this year? If he is he'll get drafted probably in the first 2 rounds. If the back up QB from USC who never threw a TD (and I have no clue how much he played) gets drafted by the Patriots, this guy will be fine. nope he is a junior and I think he will stay even though his stock will never be higher.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) Man how f***ing cool and composed is Vince. 4th and 5 with the f***ing national title on the line? Pocket breaks down he stays cool and runs it in? DAYUM the one to get them within 5 was even better. I know because I saw it happen last year against Michigan. I always thought Texas would win it because of Vince Young.
  11. I am gonna ask this question right now: Do we really need Miguel Tejada?
  12. LENDALE WHITE=Most Underrated player in College Football.
  13. Tejada is not needed here. He is the best Shortstop in the game but the Sox have a good SS in Uribe and I hope KW doesn't give up any of the pitching to get a guy who is an upgrade but not needed. Don't trade JOSE CONTRERAS!
  14. Players from Japan are better at the fundamentals and could probably beat a team like the Yankees who aren't very fundamentally sound. If you guys really think the Sox would into Japan and crush them you are high. You aren't giving Japan enough credit.
  15. Reminded me of the 2000 Orange Bowl between Michigan and Alabama.
  16. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) It just baffles me that any ND supported I have encountered and talked about this subject with goes off and attacks me for my opinion about MSU. All of this when I have consistently said that ND, while not one of the top 6 or 7 teams in the country, is certainly one of the best 10 or 15 teams in the country. And that is an amazing turn around by Charlie and they should be thrilled their program is obviously headed in the right direction. Yet they refuse to even look at the facts when analyzing MSU. It was pretty much if they didn't score 40 points to win, they couldn't win. Look at the Michigan game. When Sparty finally faced a good defense (which Michigan did have) they couldn't score enough points and Michigan State's defense really couldn't do all that much.
  17. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) I did watch the games and I was never too impressed with MSU. This is why I generally don't talk college sports on message boards...people get way too emotional about it and resort to telling people they are idiots when, in fact, they just cannot accept that there are many different opinions out there. As usual, no one can actually back-up the fact that MSU was good except by saying, "Watch them play some s***ty teams or see how they hung in a game with tOSU for a half." Well, I got news for ya, IU hung in with tOSU through 2 1/2 quarters and that don't mean s***. It's unfortunate that this cannot be a mature debate without resorting to implying people are stupid b/c they don't agree with you. neither was I. I said it was the usual MSU hot streak and they would cool down once they played somebody.
  18. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) No because I think that Leinart is oen of the rare guys who a fanbase will not allow you to pass on. If Leinart or Bush fail, fans will understand. If you pass on them and they turn out great, your fanbase will never allow you to forget it. I know thats probably not the best way to go about making a pick but it is indeed a factor a lot of people are saying that Leinhart is the next Tom Brady. I am not sure about that but he will be a very good QB.
  19. This is gone turn into the kind of game i hate. High scoring 49-42 games. I hate those games. Give me a nice 24-17 game instead. This is not well played at all.
  20. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Yes! sort of how i feel. I guess i am rooting for the Buckeyes because they are a Big Ten team. I hate both of them though.
  21. Was the officiating fine except for that one play or was it like the Michigan game where they were missing all of the calls?
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) And if they had a Big 10 of Big 12 official doing your game, someone would be b****ing about favortism. The same goes if there were SEC or Big 10 officials doing today's game. You use SEC officials. They would know how to use replay at least. I also highly doubt that they give a f***. They would call a fair game.
  23. I want them to take the Pope and a WR. Probably Jason Avant will still be there in the 2nd Round.
  24. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) I don't think anyone is saying the game was lost b/c of the officiating. Just like Michigan, Iowa pretty much sucked for most of the game. But blatant errors by officiating crews are all too common and they need to be held accountable for their erroneous actions. i agree but these refs weren't put in a good situation to begin with.
