  1. QUOTE(Yoda @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) That’s horrible. Imagine how many RBI’s Jones would have had if he had hit better with RISP. Congrats. to Pujols! He plays excellent defense and the offensive production that he brings to the team, since he came up, has been nothing short of excellent. and Jones doesn't play excellent defense?
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) And the Cardinals would have made the playoffs without Pujols? the Braves would've been in last place without Jones. Especially with all the injury problems. The Cardinals won because of their pitching staff. Not because of Albert Pujols.
  3. Jones deserved it. Sorry but he was the reason that the Braves made the playoffs. I don't care what his BA was he deserved it.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Except for the fact that Garland has always been an innings eater and Williams has never pitched more than 131 innings. Oh yeah, they are identical twins. Yeah that's the only difference between the two.
  5. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Why was the trade for Jerome Williams bad? When a player is hated as much as Hawkins was, I don't fault the gm if he gets rid of the guy. To get someone with Williams' upside, who did a pretty decent job for them, looks to me like a pretty good trade. Hendry's had his share of head scratchers, but I think that, ARam + Lofton, Lee, and Garciaparra were pretty good moves. Jerome Williams is Jon Garland in his early years.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) After a dissapointing Season, both team on both sides of town try to reconstruct their teams. KW picks up Pods, Dye, AJP, Gooch, El Duque, Count (last year), Jenks, Viz. Hendry picks up-Burnitz, Blanco (?), Hairston Cubs get worse Sox win WS Hendry sucks. than he got robbed on the Farnsworth deal. He would've helped that bullpen for sure.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) Hendry is one of the most overrated GM's. The guy have pretty much made 2 good move trading with the cubs minor league affiliate the Pirates, and aquiring D Lee. The rest of his moves have been terrible. Look at what he has done to a team that had pretty decent chemistry, an OK bullpen, and a good shot at the playoffs. The cubs have been in free fall for the last two years, and I see the trend continuing. He carries much of the blame. Until he adresses his real weaknesses-fundamentals, BULLPEN, Starting rotation, defense, the team will continue to struggle. agreed. Everybody kisses his ass for no reason. Give me KW anyday.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) I'll admit that I actually loved the moves. I have no idea about how good Berg is - but, to me, I think he viewed Dubois as useless in the NL. I didn't understand the Gerut at the time, but Lawton had been huge all year up to that point, probably a top 3-5 leadoff hitter in the NL. He put his offense in a positoin to go on a roll. Lawton sucked, and when he found his team dead, he ultimately got a young pitcher for a player in the beginning he felt had no use for. We all know how the Lawton steroid s*** occurred later on, and so by trading him, whether he knew Lawton was on roids or not, he avoided any potential controversy within the clubhouse. Yes but Lawton was such a bust that they had to trade him. Had he played well he wouldn't be traded.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Um, yeah it did. They have been in 16 bowl games. A conference title as recently as 1994. They were a respectable team in the SWAC. Yes I do on K-State. What is your point with that? no i was agreeing with you. They did yet they have just tubed.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) LOL...f*** sausage races....we could have the comedy of AJ, Crede and LeCroy racing before the game. For once, I think Joe would have his speed to fall back on.... don't forget to add in Konerko.
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Didn't used to be. I'm pulling for Kansas State this weekend. I absolutely despise how the Big Ten is on nearly every football channel on Saturday mornings. No it didn't. Remember when Kansas State was a powerhouse program a couple years ago.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Because I like the Big 12. There's really no other reason for me to have a Baylor avatar.... It'll be changing to Peyton soon, though. boy what a bad football program that is.
  13. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) How many UM games you been to at the BIG HOUSE? Just curious, I have never been there. 2. One against Syracuse and the shutout against Notre Dame in 2003.
  14. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) You refuse to tell me? Im an OSU Alumni, that may be why I like OSU so much. Im not sure?!? Because my Dad went to Michigan and my cousin was a backup LB on the football team.
  15. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) white sox josh...question for you...why are you so big on Michigan? THEWOOD why are you so big on OSU?
  16. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) you could say exactly the same thing for holmes or ginn :headshake Ginn isn't even a good receiver. He is a great player to watch and a great Return Man however he IS AN OVERRATED Receiver just like Steve Breaston.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) He want's to play for Puerto Rico. I think it's the Dominican Republic.
  18. A-Rod seems like a nice guy. I mean a lot of the yankees seem like pretty likable. Rivera, Derek Jeter, Matsui, etc. I just don't like The Boss and Gary Sheffield.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Avant won't even be the best WR in that game, regardless of what numbers I know you will throw at me, Santonio Holmes is better.....a lot better, than Avant (although Avant is a Chicago kid and I really like his game). Avant is so much better than Holmes. He has 900 Receiving yards to lead the Big Ten and would probably have over 1,000 if he had a better QB throwing to him. Plus he plays in a run-heavy offense.
  20. I grew to like him. I didn't at first but in the end i thought he did a good job. He is way more hip than Dave Wills. So I guess this means that Mike North will be doing the Pre & Post for the Sox. UGH. I wonder what Bryan will do if Notre Dame plays Miami because that is where he went to college.
  21. QUOTE(BMac41 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) Come on Buckeyes.Kick Michigan's ass!!! not gonna happen. Not with the Best Wide Receiver in the Big Ten burning up the OSU defense, not with a healthy Mike Hart, and not with this new and improved Defense of Michigan. GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) And last season and leading up top the Superbowl, which they clearly indicate is the time frame they are referring to.... he was. didn't he get into a verbal fight with McNabb before the Super Bowl?
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Michigan will have no shot unless Hart plays and is actually Mike Hart. Grady has done well considering he's a true frosh, but Hart is the guy that makes that team go, and with a healthy and fresh Hart, they have a great shot against TOSU, but otherwise, they will have major issues. yeah I think Hart could've gone if they had played a top team saturday. However they want to make sure Hart is as close to 100% as possible.
  24. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) As an impartial observer, I'd say OSU is definitely a better team than Michigan. There isn't really any way you can argue that Michigan's defense is better than that of OSU, and I'd say their offenses are comparable. Both have mediocre QB's with playmakers at WR and passable but not stellar RB's as long as Hart is out. However, you can throw out opinions and records, whatever happens on the field is what matters. Also on NU and their bowl situation, regardless of low ratings and poor attendance, they always travel well. They have fans that will fork over serious amounts of cash and easily sell out their ticket alotments, no matter what bowl they go to (they even went to the Motor City Bowl!), unlike some other teams with higher profiles. Hart is back. He will be back this weekend and he is a stellar RB.
