  1. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) At least you're consistent, Josh. It's pretty much a given that you'll always come out on the wrong side of the argument on here. He needs help, lol. He's only like the most respected guy on the team. I wonder why that is. Could it be due to the fact that he actually has a pair and won't let bulls*** fly? And for that, he is labeled as one with anger management issues? That's hilarious. And for all of your insanely laughable support of one Kyle Orton, guess who the dude credits more than any coach or player for his progress as an NFL starter thus far? Yep, one Olin Kreutz. People with "serious anger issues" aka "a chemical imbalance" do not get more respect than anyone else on the team, and they sure as hell don't go out of their way to help a rookie out as much as Olin has helped Orton. If this anger nonsense was even remotely true, Kreutz would have had numerous NFL incidents by now, what with all of the candy-ass motherf***ers in this league who just don't feel like putting forth the proper effort. Obviously, Miller said something that was out of line, and he paid for it. What, do you think that Kreutz just stuck him out of nowhere, just for fun? No. It doesn't really work that way, Josh. you don't know what the f*** you are talking about. Period! He has a problem. Yes he might be a leader but that doesn't make it right what he did. He has a HISTORY of Anger Problems. He needs help right now. Miller was the real man and he said he was sorry because he knew Kreutz wasn't gonna take responsibility for it.
  2. Dr. Buddy Rydell: Now then we need to go over some ground rules. You are to refrain from any any acts of violence including verbal assault and vulgar hand gestures. You may not use rage enhancing substances, such as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, crack cocaine, slippy-flippy's, jelly stingers, trick sticks, bing bangs or flying willards. Dave Buznik: How 'bout fiddle-faddels? Dr. Buddy Rydell: Under my supervision. Also, if you are unable to stop masterbating please, do so without the use of any pornographic images depicting quote, unquote 'angry sex.' That having been said, I'm a pretty good guy and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how much fun we can have together. Dave Buznik: Geez, without slippy-flippy's or angry masterbating I don't see how that's possible. Dr. Buddy Rydell: Sarcasm is anger's ugly cousin... from now on, unacceptable.
  3. I will say this about Krutz: he needs help. He has had a history of serious anger problems. Something is not right with him in the head and he better get help. Use anger on the field but not off the field. If this was the real world and he did something like this to a co-worker he would've been fired.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) I'd be willing to bet that the two Lawton trades happened when his steroid test results leaked out. No evidence, just a feeling. the pirates got rid of him to dump salary and because he was a free agent after the year.
  5. QUOTE(farmteam @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) What am I missing? yeah that's what I'm thinking?
  6. QUOTE(TLAK @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Was this the rant about how the post season pregames would be handled, using the network pregame instead of the Sox one? IIRC Levine was on from 6 in the morning with Jerk and Jerk in the morning to about 2 AM with Dolgin several times that week. He was on about once an hour all day with the local guys and also covered all the games. He was making less and less sense as the evenings wore on, During the 'rant' I remember him quietly saying 'well that sucks' as if he forgot he was on the radio. I think he was just worn out. The limit of Bruce Levine has been identified. yeah he probably got 3 hours of sleep per day during the world series.
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Yea, I know that the postseason isn't thought of when thinking of MVP, but without Paulie, we wouldn't have made the playoffs in the first place. we would've made the playoffs because our pitching was so good. When we were at our best Paulie was going through an awful slump. He was a non-factor the first 2 months.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Scott Rolen? Also, the Astros had a better pitching staff. did i ever mention Scott Rolen?
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) The Cardinals were injury plauged the entire year, and a pitching staff can do wonders, but it still needs runs to win games. Reggie Sanders and Jim Edmonds
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Yeah, since the Cardinals were so healthy all season. :banghead but the pitching carried that team. Not Pujols. THey had the best pitching staff in the NL and that is why they won.
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) And Andrew Jones' stats werent as good as Albert Pujols'. here is the difference. Jones carried that team through all it's injuries. Paul Konerko didn't carry the team. The Pitching Staff did.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) But that doesn't really answer my question. That just is who you think should have won it, not why Konerko didn't win it. (using your way of thinking for the MVP) Because his stats weren't as good as A-Rod's.
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) So why didn't Konerko win it for the AL? He carried the White Sox offense to a World Series title.. i thought Hafner should've won it if the Indians did win the Wild Card. However I thought Ortiz should've won it.
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) They have the power of SUPERSTEVE behind them this week. They will come through! here is a fact that will blow your mind from SI.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) What are your feelings on Paul Konerko? That he is better than Beltran. He might not have the overall skills that Beltran does but he has produced consistently. I was glad the Sox didn't try to sign him last off-season.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Did you watch the playoffs last year at all? What Beltran is capable of is just plain silly. capable of and results are two different things. Do it in the regular season and you deserve the love he gets. He is OVERRATED!
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Speed is overrated. Good baserunning skills are more important...and from what I have seen of Vlad, he's not the best baserunner in the world. Besides that - if you're talking best all-around player, you're still probably looking in the wrong place. Beltran is the best all-around player in the game, I don't care that he got paid about $1 mill for each homer he hit this year. The guy can hit for a very solid average, has very good power, can walk and get on base, has speed up the ass and puts it to very good use, has very good range in the OF, and has a strong arm. I'll take either Pujols or Beltran before I take Vlad in both categories. This is taking nothing away from Vlad - he's a very good player. He's just not Pujols. yes a guy who has a career .282 average is a great player. He hit .266 and last year he wasn't the reason Houston won the Wild Card. You know how great he was down the stretch: He had a stunning .235 Average in July, .257 in August, and .258 in September. He is the most overrated player in the game with the exception of Kerry Wood.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) So basically according to your logic, Podsednik was on base 300 times or so. no 200 or so times. Not always Pods though. Whoever was on 1st Base he moved over.
  19. QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) i'd say thats a long shot honestly. he plays in one of the best Home Runs parks in US Cellular Field and he probably only got 300 at-bats where he wasn't trying to move Pods over and focusing on hitting to the right side or giving himself up. Yet he still hit 15 Home Runs.
  20. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) Pujols doesn't need the arm...he possesses a good enough right arm to throw accross the diamond from 1B to 3B, he has versality, and can play both on all 4 corners, while still putting up ridiculous numbers. And since when does Vlad have speed? A 40 for 60 campaign in stolen bases a couple years ago makes him fast? I guess Sosa's pretty fast then too. Pujols is the best pure hitter in the game, and has an unbelievably smooth and powerful swing, where as Vlad just hacks and swings hard as hell. Pujols reminds me a lot of Thomas in his younger days in that it doesn't look like he's a guy that can ever get into a slump, he puts up a gawdy average, hits for a ton of power, and walks more often than he strikes out. There is no hole in his swing, and he is just fundamentally sound all around. I'm not sure it's possible to convince anyone one way or another that Pujols is worse than Vlad. In fact, I'd say Pujols is the best player in the game by far. Have you ever seen him play?
  21. Iguchi should be the #3 hitter because he is the best All-Around Hitter on this team. If he was a #3 hitter he could probably hit 30 Home Runs and 100 RBI.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) That's your opinion, but you won't find many others that agree. Pujols is possibly looking at a HOF career. So is Vlad.
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:24 PM)Vlad is the best player in baseball. Pujols doesn't have the arm and speed Vlad has.
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) White Sox Josh, I used to think Jones deserved it more, too, but not after reading some of the stuff in this thread. f***, this guy is nothing short of amazing and is, hands down, the best player in baseball. I agree Pujols is great and probably the best player in the NL however that is not what this award is about. It is about which player did the most for his team and IMHO Jones fits that category. Nothing against Pujols.
