QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) sorry but it doesn't seem like consolation at all. Hope Jim gets it though, and here i know what you are saying. Would you rather see Frank retire or hit 500 in another uniform.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) It's not the fact that people don't have faith in Anderson it's just the fact ozzie would like to add a number 2 hitter to move Tad down. No offense to Wilkerson at all but I don't think he's what Kenny and Ozzie are looking for in a 2 hitter. he takes a ton of pitches. Everytime I have seen him against the Braves and other teams he is taking a ton of pitches. He is an ideal lead off man. His at-bats usually last around 11 pitches and he can get on base.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) it seems to me that no one on this board has any faith in anderson...yet i get the impression that in a couple years these same people will welcome young owens and sweeney. just out of curiousity, why? young is a better power prospect and owens is fast, but why couldnt anderson hit 280 20 70? yes but Wilkerson is a Stud.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) I think he has a season of 130 or more games left in him. I really do same here.
-
QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) That's not up to him. He'll probably go in as an Indian, since he spent so many years in Cleveland. yeah but we will still see a White Sox break 500 Home Runs if Frank doesn't come back.
-
Jim Thome should hit his 500th Home Run in 2007 with the Sox assuming he stays healthy. He has 430 Home Runs in his career and if he breaks 500 as a White Sox, has 3 or 4 great seasons, and finishes his career with the Sox he might go into the HOF as a White Sox.

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) I thought the problem with Munoz is that he has control issues. He really has been in the distance lately though, I doubt he he pitches for us again. Same with Diaz (although he is not a lefty.) he pitched well out of the bullpen in 04. Just forget about that start against Montreal. He wasn't put into a good situation.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) That authority is 100% correct. Kenny tried to trade Frank.. Jerry slapped his hand. From what I know Kenny and Frank have never been "friends". Jerry and Frank have been extremely close his entire career, and got even closer when Frank's agent was killed - Jerry set him up with Arn - and even closer still when Frank's father passed away. I read they were good friends and that was when Kenny was running the Minors. I think Frank even recomended Kenny for the job.

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) Hmm... I don't really agree with what Ebert said because I love movies and I have seen many many many! that I have liked. If I don't like a movie I don't watch it anymore or "learn" to like it. I am not saying I have watched more movies than Ebert lol, but if I don't like a movie that's it nothing else to it. To add on to this list though of a movie that got bad reviews but was fairly decent was The Jacket. The story was ofcourse unoriginal, but there were a few things I liked about it. i think you misunderstand what I am saying. I am saying that you have to have a different mindset for each film. You can't just judge movies by one thing. For example if you go to 2 Fast 2 Furious with the same mindset as the Godfather. If you did that you would hate it. However if you go in not expecting a really smart movie but an entertaining movie with great action scenes than you will like it.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) LOLOLOL... smart thriller for a retard maybe. You have to have a seperate mindset going into Action/Thrillers. This one for a Thriller was smart and the idea was pretty cool. The action was great. It was great entertainment.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) And what I am telling you... is that where Frank is concerned Kenny has nothing to do with it. Frank deals with Jerry. their relationship is that strong? I knew they were friends but wow. How does Kenny feel about Frank? I know he used to be friends with him before he took over as General Manager.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Um, it would be absolutely pointless to sign Frank Thomas to a bench deal. He would help our team in no way. i agree but you never know.
-
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Anaconda and Congo! I loved Anaconda. I thought it was a very smart thriller and Jon Voight was great.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) Good point, but the Sox would be down to Cotts if Marte was dealt. I'm not a minor-league guru, so I have no idea if any lefty relievers ( or starters like Cotts was ) are ready to contribute soon. Any lefty arms growin' on the farm? Munoz is probably better against lefties because of that big Curveball he has

QUOTE(AirScott @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) my understanding is that he's a good defensive CF, so Pods would stay put. my worry is that he's never really hit for average and strikes out a lot. not only that but he can play anywhere. He is the ultimate team player from what I have heard.
-
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) That banner could be perfect if you would add the Big Hurt next to Aaron... because hs isn't gone yet. In other words while it will probably not happen, stranger things have happened.
-
Terminator 3 I should've added that.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) The fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter what Kenny or Ozzie think. If Frank can play.. IF.. Jerry will bring him back in some capasity. The fact right now is that Frank is still walking around in a boot and is still in pain. If the season started tomorrow he would retire. And it's my belief that that's what will happen. Yes but I am saying Kenny would've never done it even if he didn't get hurt. At least IMHO.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) ASSume much..? He is the offender in this case. Common sense.. That phrase needs to be used more. My freshman teacher taught that to me. to Assume means it makes u and me an ASS.

I got to thinking that there are so many bad movies that are out that you like. Roger Ebert explained it best when he said in his review of The Fast & The Furious "There are so few great movies that you have to learn to love the great trash." That is so true in so many ways. Here are my "great trash" movies: Bad Company Tomcats Big Daddy Blade III: Trinity Resident Evil Scary Movie 3

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) This is why I laughed at Konerko saying he wants to be a Sox player forever. Doesn't happen in real life. Loyalty just doesn't happen in baseball. No but this time Frank was loyal. The sox weren't loyal to him. I have a feeling that Frank would've taken a big paycut to stay with the Sox. He wanted to stay on the South Side. I have a sick feeling that even if this injury hadn't happened Frank would be gone. KW never liked him. I like Kenny but i think he should've given Frank a second chance. Everybody screws up. He gave A.J. Pierzynski a 2nd chance and look what he has done. When Ordonez didn't show up for those practice's that Ozzie had for him KW didn't go to the media and yell at him. I wonder what Ozzie thinks about Frank being gone.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Go back a page or two in this thread, and see Hahn's quotes. I think the answer is no. And A.J. Pierzynski would never come to the White Sox. Yes it is hard but Frank would get at-bats. Do you guys think that if Frank had stayed healthy he would still be a White Sox today?
-
Thanks Big Frank. You are the greatest Right Handed Hitter I have ever seen.
-
Is there any chance that Thomas could be back with the Sox next year? Not as a bench coach but as a player.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Ding, ding, ding, ding... plus he has a new wife and kids. Why mess with something especially considering he won't want to walk around as a cripple while his kids grow up.
