  1. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) I think the Bears will draft a WR (the wrong one; e.g. Dez White) or probably trade down for multiple picks. It's the Jerry Angelo school of thinking. I hope the take Avant. They would be able to get him because they will be drafting in the 20's. If not with the first pick, IMHO you draft him with your 2nd pick.
  2. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) If you seriously think Orton's problems revolve around having no WR's to throw to, then you don't know much baout football. He's a rookie and struggles are to be expected. However, this team is winning in spite of him and not b/c of him. With Orton, you know you're getting the league's worst QB statistically. With Grossman, you don't know what you're getting. The question is: is he worse than Orton. Common sense says no, but the coaches will determine that. no they are winning with Orton. Did you see what i posted? Grossman isn't even ready to become a 2nd String QB yet. He is ready to play in an emergency. If he did come in probably every play would be a run and he wouldn't pass the ball.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Ok Mrs. Orton Shut Up! All of you blind Grossman supporters should realize that he isn't even healthy enough to start. You want Jeff Blake over Orton? Because Grossman coming in right now isn't even a f***ing valid option. Grossman is healthy enough to be a 3rd String QB that is it.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) I got 50 bucks says they draft another running back. why?
  5. Anybody who thinks Rex Grossman is a big uprgrade over Orton is delusional. How do we know that Grossman isn't a clone of Josh McCown. You know maybe throw for a ton of yards but also throws a ton of Interceptions. Grossman's stats are a lot like McCown's. I am sorry but Rex Grossman is not a saving grace for this team. He isn't even 100% healthy.
  6. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) I have been an Orton supporter for much of the year, making excuses for him, "he's a rookie, managing the game well" etc with the only game that I had a real complaint about was the Bengals game. Today however I cannot make excuses for him. This was not managing the game, this was the defense bailing him out over and over again. Now, I am not writing Orton off because rookie QBs do struggle in the NFL, but if the Bears make noise in the postseason it will be in spite of Orton not because of him. who does he have as a Wide Receiver? Moose will be double covered. This is why the Bears need to draft a Receiver with the first pick. He has no Receiving talent around him if Moose is double covered and that is what has been going on.
  7. QUOTE(SouthPaw @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Well i'm done with the page, this will be going in my bro's highschool yearbook.... NICE!
  8. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Yeah he'd be a good fit as a Tatum Bell with a few more carries and heavy involvement in the passing game. If I'm the Jets, I love the idea of Martin and Bush in my backfield. In SanFran, there won't be that luxury He would be a great fit in Houston. Davis could still be your #1 Running Back however you can use Bush as one of your starting Wide Receivers and than use him 10-15 times a game to run the ball.
  9. The Dodgers overpayed but Furcal is pretty good. I wouldn't bat him leadoff. When he struggles it's because he gets "Home Run Happy" and his swing gets really long. I think that Izturis is a better fielder than Furcal. JMO. The ideal spot when Izturis gets back is to bat Furcal either 2nd or down in the lineup. Izturis should still be in the #1 slot.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) Can ND take credit for beating Michigan then? At the time they beat them, Michigan was a very average team. No Michigan was ranked really high. Look Notre Dame was much better than Michigan this season. If there was a fifth bcs game this year Notre Dame would IMHO deserve to go.
  11. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) Josh, let's widen the view here. Michigan State was playing very well at the time they played Notre Dame. You can't with any logic or fairness call that a bad loss, just because Michigan State tanked their season after losing to Michigan. If you did, that would be like Auburn fans taking credit for killing South Carolina, a much improved team at the end of the year. But when Auburn played them, SC was terrible and without their starting QB. Can't count that as a "good" win, nor can you count Notre Dame's loss to Michigan St a bad one. The bottom line is, that like it or not, Notre Dame has a deal with the BCS and will get in because of it. If you think the deal sucks, then why not crow just as loudly that the Big East gets a bid? The BCS is what it is. It is designed to do the best possible job to pick the top 2 teams. Anything beyond that is nothing really different from the old days when the conferences were tied to bowls without the BCS. The BCS just puts the top two teams together rather than having them play in separate bowl games. That's it. that deal really sucks. The Big East one. That is worse than the Notre Dame deal. Look Notre Dame was way better than Michigan this season. This has nothing to do with Notre Dame-Michigan.
  12. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Selection show is tomorrow at 4pm central time... I think the Fiesta Bowl should be Oregona vs. Ohio State. If you look at it Notre Dame had one of the easiest schedules in College Football. They played 3 bowl teams. Michigan: W USC: L Navy (average team): W The only above average teams that are going to a major Bowl Game in that Schedule are Michigan and USC. Michigan will be playing on January 2nd and USC will be playing for the National Championship. Other than those 2 teams that's it. Plus they lost to Michigan State. Any team that can't beat Michigan State doesn't deserve to go to a BCS game. Oregon played 4 teams that will be going to bowl games. UCLA only lost 2 games and if USC isn't in the Pac 10 they win the conference. Plus the Fiesta Bowl loves Pac 10 teams and Oregon travels well. Ohio State deserves to go period. I am not trying to take anything away from Notre Dame. Charlie Weis did a great job and i think he is a stand-up guy. However if you take strength of schedule into the grand picture Notre Dame shouldn't make it.
  13. QUOTE(hi8is @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) you don't mind if i use this as my avatar?
  14. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 05:10 PM) Ahh I'm born anew in the genius of Reggie Bush. Never seen a player quite like him it's like a video game.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) And what about their own crap defense? it's over now. UCLA's defense does suck. Most of the Pac 10 teams don't have any defense.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Stop making f***ing stupid decisions UCLA They are still in the game with USC's Crap defense.
  17. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) Josh good to see you back!!! GO BUCKS!!! i am rooting for them in the BCS. My rule is you root for the Big Ten teams in the bowl games. So will you be rooting for Michigan in the Capital One Bowl.
  18. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) If you're going, DO NOT forget to bring a camera. I read in the paper today that you'll be able to take a picture with the World Series trophy, but it specified "with your own camera". I take that to mean that there won't be anyone taking shots with a Polaroid for you to purchase. First showing of the Sox Pride DVD, a copy of it to take home, a picture with the trophy, Sox players attending......I dunno, worth 30 bucks to you??? It sucks that I won't be able to attend. sweet. I saw some of the World Series DVD on CSN yesterday. It looked great. Also how much of this money goes to charity?
  19. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) If we got Pierre, still a possibility how about a 4 man ad with 4 faces. On the left you'd have Thome and Konerko with THunder written underneath and on the right you'd have Pods and Pierre with lightning underneath. Just a thought than it would look like an ad for Star Wars: Episode III. I like that idea.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) I wonder if Heads is mad that he can't watch his team get beat down on a national stage today. Did the Longhorns 2nd string play well. That is really the most important question. How many points did the Longhorns 2nd string put on the board.
  21. I will never forget that game. I thought Illinois had no shot to come back because of how the lived off the 3 Pointer (I thought that was a reason they didn't win the National Championship) but it just shows you the heart that they had.
  22. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Yeah, well, it's no "Where there's thunder, there's lightning," but, I'll take it. it looks like one of the ads I saw for Kill Bill.
  23. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) Congress should worry less about Iraq and Hurricane Katrina and poverty in this country and more about whether Penn State or LSU steps in to face USC if Texas loses this weekend. Right. Jesus Christ. Sometimes I'm just embarrassed about this country what you mean College Football isn't more serious than poverty? I agree with you 100%. Also let's see how this 5th bowl game works out. It might solve some of the problems. But Congress has other things that they need to worry about. Let College Football solve this themselves. The BCS needs work done on it but i think they might be smart enough to know that. Like I said let's see what the 5th BCS Bowl game can do. This will make sure 2 more teams get into the BCS.
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) I must've been out of it that day, because I can't remember that at all. It's also a pretty useless move, though. Don't think he is gonna have a great season in that Ballpark.
  25. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Wait, when did Castilla get traded to the Padres? I can't remember this at all. that was the first move of the offseason.
