Alex Rios OBP = .299
I am not so sure people realize that Rios has only played in 17 games for us. Not sure how anyone can make any sort of judgment on him.

Alex Rios OBP = .299
one has a history of being good the other has a history of being pretty poor.

Weirdest Baseball Moments
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Pablo created a whole bunch of great/weird moments... --The swing after the catcher caught the pitch --Throwing out a batter at 1B from LF --I was at a game when a squirrel got on the field, and there's Pablo chasing it around with his glove and bare hand extended (I have no idea what the hell he'd have done if he actually caught it) --Pablo volunteering to warm up Jenks when the catchers weren't ready, only to have Bobby's first warm up pitch sail right past him to the backstop I was really disappointed when I saw he tested positive for PED's, because I always liked him. Just seemed like he really enjoyed being out there. I was at the squirrel game, it was the return of Thomas. That was a great game. Pablo won it with a suicide squeeze if I recall. Pablo warming up Jenks was awesome. Hawk was laughing his behind off. It sailed passed his head and he stood up and looked at the backstop, then back at Jenks, and just walked off the field

Thome with a minor left foot injury
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 01:31 PM) I love the thought of Blaylock, but then the chain of events to follow would push another lefty bat out - Getz Although it's gonna be all the rage next offseason to get something for the Cuban Miss-SS-ill, as in his misses at SS make me ill. I will be here all week. I find him to be intriguing too but I'm not sure if he can play 3B as a full time player anymore. Having him and Konerko as our 1B/DH wouldn't be so bad.

Note to all you youngsters...
Played first base once without a cup. Scary. Only time I ever forget it.

Cub Fan Incident with Beer

Cub Fan Incident with Beer
QUOTE (YASNY @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) Would it have been funny if the beer distracted him enough to where the ball hit him square in the face? That was a definite possibility. well, that was the douches intent

Cub Fan Incident with Beer
well it is just such a typical cub fan moment. Remember the near riot when fans stole the hats of players in the Dodger bullpen several years ago? Or the fan that charged towards the mound to kill Howry? Or how about the countless times that they have thrown trash on the field? I don't have a problem with most cub fans but this behavior seems to be encouraged by the fan base.

2009 Cubs thread
yeah that was a pretty dick move by that fan

Chicago @ Seattle Gamethread
Ozzie never seems to like to juggle his regulars around. Otherwise we would have seen Beckham at ss when Alexei was out. I don't blame him though. No reason to move them around. If he is your left fielder, then that's where he should play.

We love you Gordon, oh yes we do
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) If he changes it, I want to see him wear 2, 6, or 80. 2 is retired and I think that only Ricky Seilheimer has worn 6 since Jorge Orta. so that seems like a long shot.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) So does the man we all love give up #15? I hope not since I have his jersey shirt. I didn't get one for this very reason, seems a lot of rookies change numbers before their second year

Nice to see that Brent Lillibridge can get help from Beckham for his Boy Scout food drive

We love you Gordon, oh yes we do
I heard that Beckham is gonna start batting left handed just so he can have a little bit of a challenge at the plate

Mark Buehrle Enjoys Hunting
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 01:44 AM) -License expenses help keep recreation areas clean, healthy, and most importantly protected. It's a lot harder to develop a natural area when hunters and fishermen are protesting against it. in addition to that, fishing and hunting license sales account for the majority of funds for DNRs.

Mark Buehrle Enjoys Hunting
QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 11:00 PM) MB is productive how when hunting? whatever sheeple... just off the top of my head... One aspect of hunting is that it helps reduce overpopulation. Over population can increase the spread of diseases such as Chronic Wasting Disease. A disease such as this could have drastic effects on populations in the future. Also, it has the potential to be transmitted to livestock. Overpopulation also has a drastic effect on the ground cover in areas. This can affect many other creatures who then have to deal with less food, in turn, so will the deer and starvation takes place. In addition, a lack of ground cover can lead to erosion and effect the ground water and water ways of the area. These water ways became overrun with silt, sand, and gravel thus destroying natural spawning areas and habitats for fish, frogs and turtles. Also, as mentioned prior in this thread, there a millions of auto collisions with deer each year. For all these reasons, and more, if people like Dye, Buehrle, and others did not hunt, districts would have no choice but to hire sharpshooters to have to reduce the population levels. This costs money. All this costs money. Thats how he an be productive. I am not a hunter, but I am a Natural Resource major.
