  1. Total agreement. "FIRE this guy and trade him because they SUCK!"
  2. I've got to admit, the lame jokes about Contreras being 50+ years of age annoy me after a while
  3. Anything suggesting removal of Paul Konerko after he starts the season slow, because it always turns into a 30+ HR and 90+ RBI season.
  4. How about 2005? Because Buerhle pitched very well then, as well. As I said, he's BEEN consistent. 05 and 06 were no mirages. Crede I disagree with to some degree, as he's had some good patches of hitting since 05. I can accept that point of view about Joe, though. But calling Beurhle's 2007 a "mirage" when he's had a lot of success seems kind of ridiculous to me.
  5. Late 2006? You mean the only truly rough time Buerhle probably ever had? Seems like poor judgment on your part to me. Buerhle has been very consistent over the course of his career, and you've had this attitude for this amount of time now over a PART of one year? Wow.
  6. All based on a few bad starts early into the season after he's had a lot of success and has been a consistent pitcher? Seriously, what the hell crawled into your ass? What exactly gave you reason to believe all of this before this season? And that thing about "long past their peak" thing made me chuckle a little bit.
  7. I'm at the point where I can't bear to watch OC at the plate anymore. I can't believe my heart sinks upon seeing the hitter who comes AFTER Uribe...
  8. Ditto. SO who did what today? Did we actually have some offense???
  9. Konerko has a hit in this game. The way things have been going, that counts for something.
  10. I never kept up on him back in Oakland, but my impression by everthing I heard about him was that Swisher was a damn good hitter. Great, NOW they start hitting...
  11. Thome, Konerko, JD, Swisher, AJ, Crede (maybe), are... or at least WERE at some point all very good hitters. Don't deny that this offense is way too good to be hitting this poorly.
  12. And yet, what REALLY are the odds that they will anytime soon? I mean, I've never seen a collection of such great hitters slump so bad. But I HAVE seen some of them hit well even with Walker as the coach. Is Walker REALLY the problem? IF he is, then please fire him and let's at least try something new. Something has to give. This is TOO good a team to be playing like this. I mean, I'm no longer feeling so safe about the 50 dollar bet I made with my friend that the Sox would finish better than KC this year...
  13. Why NOT? Anderson in his limited at-bats has hit better than anyone is right now and it's not like substituting a guy who's not hitting (which as far as I can tell Anderson IS hitting) for a guy who's not hitting is a big deal...
  14. Maybe I'm missing something, but what's with all this talk about how good Swisher can be at CF? So far this season, he looks terrible out there.
  15. Total agreement. I love that stuff. Especially those "Top 50" things Best Damn plays.
  16. DAMMIT. I REALLY wanted to see it. Oh, well. GREAT job, Gavin!
