Oh, it does. But about year after the classy s***, it turns into a total flip-flop. The "Crede hate" is so f*cking stupid it disgusts me.

With all this terrible management I'm not as excited this year, BUT I am excited as all hell to see a season with Nick Swisher in a Sox uniform, I tell you that!

Maybe by general consensus? I've watched almost every Sox game since mid 2004, and Joe has always been impressive, with good range, quick reflexes, and amazing plays all the time. He was KNOWN as a GG caliber fielder. Hawk wasn't being a homer by saying that. That was heard all around baseball. And everybody here credited him for that, too. What has happened? Oh yeah, there's a LOT of contradiction on Soxtalk. Statistics? So you are one of those guys who bases everything on statistics? Given, they are important, but they don't dictate everything. And as far as what makes me think he'll produce this year based on Spring training... that's just a dumb question. I'm sorry but it really is. If everybody played the same in the regular season as all throughout spring training, we probably wouldn't need so many topics discussing players and managers' jobs would be a lot easier. Plus, remember that Joe could possibly improve, seeing as he is still recovering and has to try getting used to playing again. Never said he couldn't. I just find it funny that some people seem to compare Fields currently to Crede at his best, which is a colossal joke to me.

I just totally disagree, sorry. We've seen Joe play GG caliber third base much through his career, and especially 05-06. I'd call that more than just "above average." Comparing a current Josh Fields to a healthy Joe Crede defensively is no comparison from what I've seen. And since the return of his DL stint in '05, the time he has been healthy he has been hitting very well. Are people just forgetting about how valuable a healthy Crede is to our organization? I'm all for trading him right now for obvious reasons, but a lot of people seem to want to discredit him because of it and downplay his ability. It's so bizarre it amuses me.

The Cubs are about the best team in one of the worst divisions, and the Sox are one of the worst (perhaps) in about the BEST. Why WOULDN'T the Cubs have a better season?

I haven't watched much Spring Training, but what I've seen and heard about BA I can't imagine Ramirez was that good offensively AND defensively. IMO, this spot is Brian's. WTF.

The year any team besides the Yankees or Red Sox win the AL East is the year the world ends.

You can say what you want about his batting average and his DL/surger stint, but the idea (especially talking about his D) that Crede "is just not good" is a load of crap.

I just entered this thread for the first time, and I just remembered why I always stay out of Crede threads; having to read rubbish like this.

I'm confused. If Swisher is leading off, it would seem obvious Owens isn't going to play? Or is that just for the DL stint? Either way, why is BA NOT going to be in CF, especially while Owens is on the DL? It makes NO sense to me. Who the hell is going to be the third OF during this time???

I'm finally starting to really get fed up with this entire organization. With all the talent we managed to grab this year, you think we'd have more to cheer about. Instead I still see failed moves, terrible use of resources, etc. I like Ozzie and all, but I still am and always will be against him still being our manager. BA should be in CF. And IMO, Swisher being a lead-off is a waste, but I guess I can live with it. I'm finally beginning to think that '05 was our organization just getting lucky. The more time goes on, the more I feel the people in charge of the organization just suck.

Um, how is my disappointment that the Sox lost 4.5 million on him based on his DFA b****ing and moaning about Uribe being on the team? It's the OPPOSITE, and I think that should be clear as day to see. A stupid comment indeed.

Great post, and I'm hoping BA keeps it up and makes (and stays with) this team. Ever since I saw him for the first time in CF, I've been a big BA fan.

People always talk about how many HRs Swish will hit and his power. So why would anyone be happy about the possibility of him leading off if this is true? Seems like a waste to me. Thought OCab was going to possibly be leading off? I rather like the idea of Ozuna at Second and leading off at this point, as crazy as it sounds. Man, I hope Owens makes it. That said, I really want to see BA on this team, too.
