I simply don't understand posts like these. We need better players. Rowand is a great cneter fielder and a great person in the clubhouse, and look what he's done in recent years. You can't tell me you'd be happier with Jerry Owens playing center. Only drawback is leadoff. Will we get a leadoff hitter? If we can get ANYONE decent to lead off, I will be VERY happy if Rowand is signed.

Maybe something is wrong with me, but if we signed Rowand, why would we platoon him with Anderson/Owens???

Not sure. I've come close. But in some situations I've changed my mind. We'll see. I just don't see trading a solid starting pitcher for a player who will be a free agent after one year. It seems to contradict Kenny's usual strategy and also seems fairly illogical.

My heart just sank. If we end up with Owens playing center I might officially denounce KW.

I give you that. And on a side note, I'm actually excited about getting Orlando Cabrera. I just don't think Cabrera and Linebrink even together can account for the problems having a good starter in your rotation can solve, especially with THIS team with the condition it's in right now. LOL.

I'm not saying that. Just understand that the idea makes me nervous as hell, as I've sure it makes MANY others nervous as well. We are talking about Contreras, Danks, AND another possible AAA baller. Try telling me that doesn't scare you a little.

And who would you want? I don't mean to nitpick, but it's been a long time since I've heard a player mentioned in serious trade rumors that a majority here has agreed upon, for whatever reasons. Pods was the best we had (LOL) and he's gone. We need a leadoff man. Crawford would be fine with me (IF we could get him). What other good options are out there (serious question)?

As much as I despise Mariotti, he's kind of right. The Sox, like Chicago teams in general *COUGH*BEARS*COUGH*, are cheap (Cubs excluded, lol). At least fairly. The Sox are really never that team to dish out a lot of money for a big star. Not like this is anything people don't know.

Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't much of this site wishing the Sox would get Linebrink a couple years back? Or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?

I'll be the first one laughing when people start once again complaining about Kenny and Ozzie being horrible. On the other hand, the idea of Mariotti being right about anything (although he is right from time to time)... *shudder*
