When has Floyd ever been good in the majors? Um, seriously... anyone? Stats or something? I've been wondering why we obtained him since the day we did. From what I've seen, he's shown very little, and he hasn't impressed me at all.

Javier Vasquez is awesome. With every win I eat more and more crow and actually enjoy it. I'm so glad I was wrong about his ability.

The .198 Hinske overshift, Ozzie's brilliance at work

As was I, and I'm sure everyone else. And like was said earlier, Ozzie most likely would have taken him out of the game if it had been Buerhle or Garland. -

Hands down one of the dumbest thing I've ever seen watching baseball. Has fathom posted yet? -
I want to sweep Boston badly. After that, I for one hope Boston wins the division, at least over the Yankees. If the jays took teh division (lol), that would be hilarious.

WOW. Bukvich came into the game, and I was ready to curse Ozzie, turn the game off, and deem it as surely another destined f***-up. I'm amazed (and happy) that I was wrong. And wow, for the first time, I'm actually a fan of Javier. Maybe he's finally figured it all out.

Is everybody suggesting Jenks could go for the idea of Lidge being our CLOSER? I don't know if I like that idea.
-
Frankly I'd rather have Ichiro, and Hunter would be awesome, but I'd have no objection to having Aaron back. He'll likely be the cheapest and we know what we'll get from him.

Is anyone from the Sox in it?

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 10:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think you are watching old footage from 2001 when you say "pretty good defense". So you're saying his defense wasn't good in 2005 and 2006?

What else is new. But hey, that would be better than coming back and having the same thing happen over and over again. Pods and Erstad are our Prior and Wood, not that I'm making a comparison

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Apparently Kemp really is injured. http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ml-dodgers Looks like we dodged a bullet. WOW, some of the fans on that board are idiots. Someone called Buerhle "an injury waiting to happen," and apparently no one there is aware that Buerhle has pitched in any year besides 2006 since those are the only stats they seem to look at. Many fans there are saying them trading Kemp for Buerhle would be idiotic. -

QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understand your message, and I am smiling, but I disagree he is a cornerstone. He is OK, but no ace. Just my opinion. He's been the closest thing to an ace for us in recent years, along with both Garland and Contreras (AT CERTAIN POINTS). But I'm not just talking about him being a conrnerstone as a player, but as a person and a leader, dude. We all want to keep Buerhle not only because of the great player he is, but the great leader and person he is as well. -

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We can only hope so. Or maybe he's injured and we dodged a bullet O_o BTW, quickman, pull the stick out of your ass, please. I can't stand it when people always have to be negative. One of the cornerstones of our organization has been resigned to a long, cheap deal. Smile, for Christ's sake. -
God, I miss Nuke.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 06:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After Buerhle throwing this gem versus the Twinkies- a game we needed to win after such a shameful display on Friday- I can't believe the Sox management would still be undecided about signing Mark to an extension with a NTC. I am disappointed in Jenks not shutting the Twins down in the 9th, A hit and a walk are not what you want to see your closer allowing in the 9th with a 3-0 shutout on the line. He didn't have a problem on Friday shutting the Twins down in a 12-0 loss. I'm sorry, but I am not all that happy with Bobby. Once again I call on Sox management to get off the bump and sign Mark. If you are waiting for my permission then I say do it. Complete agreement. And yeah, IMO Bobby just is not Bobby anymore. In fact, I think that's obvious.

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well if this is true and they trade MB, I believe this will go down as one of the dumbest moves ever made by this Org. The guy is giving you a great discount and you refuse to give him a NTC. It's just asinine to me. I have lost alot of respect for JR and KW and this Org. on the way this has all played out in the media and the way the Org. has handled this situation with MB. Whatever happened to loyalty to your players and allegiance to players that have been nothing but the model of consistency on and off the field. They expect the fans to be loyal, yet they aren't loyal to their own players. I could understand if what MB was asking for was unreasonable, but to lose him because he wants a guarantee that he is gonna be here for 4 years is a damn shame. Like I said I have lost alot of respect for the whole Org. and as far as I am concerned if MB is traded I believe I am gonna have to question my loyalty and allegiance to this Orginazation. I know I may catch alot of heat for that statement, but it's just the way I feel. I feel as a fan that JR and KW aren't as committed to winning as they say, allowing the face of your franchise to get away.

If Ichiro is ever on this team I will shed tears of joy. I doubt it happens, but it would be great.

"The fans are just a bunch of idiots" -Boone Logan
TheBigHurt replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What a personality. And yeah, after reading that, T-Boone HAS to be his official nickname, lol. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, so ignore his actual performance and stats whatsoever, and consider his velocity drop and an injury that happened years ago, and THAT makes him ineffective. My memory MIGHT be misinforming me here, but put THAT blown save with another he had recently (I MIGHT be wrong, though). In any case, yeah, he gives up hits and has no velocity. Realistically, what pitches does he really have to use effectively, at least compared to before, and his past performances? I'm amazed as hell he has this many saves so far.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> totally especially since hes been one of the best closers in the league this season. But yeah, good point On what are you basing that statement? He has no velocity anymore and really doesn't have much to go with. Everytime I see him on the mound he's giving up a lot of hits.
