Thome diffuses restaurant misbehavior

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://dugout.progressiveboink.com/archive/b90.html I like the Nick Massett one- MassettByThatMuch: one time David Glass tempted me with the ability to throw a goddamn strike. I laughed so hard while reading that. -
I f***ing love the Cubs.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> this Chicago sports mentality "fire the coach. fire the coach!! It's really old and tired. If Mac and Ardsma strike out everyone they face, ozzies a god. Where do people get off saying stuff like that? NO, he WOULDN'T. He MIGHT be a bad manager who somehow made a good move? A God... ROFL. We wouldn't know anyway, would we?

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/30/07 (L)

QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, it was serious. There's no way we're bringing back Buehrle or Dye, and moving Iguchi could allow KW to go out and try to find a more athletic 2nd baseman. Thome is an interesting case, but I'd lose no sleep if he was dealt. I sense some very dark times ahead for the Sox. 10 to 1 instead of the Sox becoming really good in the next few years with this focus on getting younger, they become a constant 3rd-4th place team, perhaps the next Kansas City Royals. I sure as hell would be pissed about losing Thome, who do you think we would get to make up for his loss? And this situation with Mark not having a contract pisses me off to no end. I'm not quite as fond of KW and especially Ozzie as I used to be. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We really should be looking for people interested in Dye or Iguchi or Buehrle or Thome. Why? I hope that was an "invisible green" post. -

Why the f*** were Mac and Aardma pitching in the 9th with the game tied??? This is an absolutely INEXCUSABLE loss. -
Ozuna fractures fibula, tears ankle ligament

I'm a huge Pablo fan, and this makes me sad. I sure hope his career isn't over. -
That thing with AJ was retarded.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 28, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't really mind if the Bears went 0-16 and Brian Urlacher was stricken with a particularly seepage plagued case of syphillis, but I guess we're just different like that.

KILL everyone in our bullpen. This is now BEYOND pissing me off. No one we call up will make any difference. Our pitching situation, bullpen wise, is like that of the Cubs. Great market strategy, KW.

QUOTE(greg775 @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Face it ... unless the Sox come out and bash 2 or more homers in a game, they are cooked offensively. It's a home run hitting team nothing else. LAWL.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rich Hill getting hit hard this night keeps getting better.

Holy crap, I just realized something. Aren't we 4-1 against the A's this year?

Danks! Offense! Bullpen guys not named Crisco! THOME IS BACK!!!

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Blew an opportunity to lower the ERA. Acording to Hawk and DJ DiNardo is Koufax Terraro has incredible power Stewart is the right handed Tony Gwynn/Wade Boggs Lob it over the f***ing plate asshole! I'm probably the biggest Hawk fan on this damn site, but he really makes me laugh somtimes.

Dammit, Crisco!

Off topic, but what's going on with the rotation (Garland)?

I really don't get how anyone can talk negatively about Erstad.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ May 20, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> crede again with the tightness in his lower back. Only took until mid-May. Good call, Borass. Cisco + Macdoogal = nitro + glycerin Nice misspelling there. It gives me a great idea. I propose a nickname for Andrew: Crisco.

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ May 20, 2007 -> 07:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stop with your man love for Sweeney. He is not ready to play everyday in the major's, thats why. I'll admit I'm more among the casual fans than the fans that know everything about the game, but I saw great defense from him and some good hitting for a while, so I fail to see why he's not a better option than Mack or Ozuna, much less why he's not ready to play in the majors. And as far as platooning goes, that's already happening, so I don't see much of a difference there. Anderson played about a whole year and impressed with his D, and didn't hit at all, which in my estimation makes Sweeney a much bigger opportunity as a full-time OF or even the same platooning that was done. If Anderson was considered ready, why not Sweeney? And I'm obviously not the only one with "man love" for Sweeney, thank you.

QUOTE(spiderman @ May 20, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would give it a shot because he is definitely better than Mackowiak or Ozuna Fixed for you

Masset has impressed me since day one, and this helped. He's one of very few guys in the pen that don't make me curse when I see him at this point.
