  1. I've been distracted the last half hour or so. I look up and I see Uribe, Cintron and Mack in the same game. PLEASE don't tell me Mack is in center or I will seriously kill someone.
  2. Still no info? Anyway, if it's true, my heart goes out to Jose becausthe idea of this is sad.
  3. Uh, the TV Guide has me mixed up. Is the game on LIVE at 1 or 7 PM?
  4. Brian MAKES the team but ends up being a backup to Erstad? WTF. This is so ridiculous. This is all because of Ozzie???
  5. I'm so pissed. WTF was he doing playing 1B, anyway???
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KW goes out and makes one of the best signings of his tenure as White Sox GM and it takes Ozzie less than 3 weeks to f*** it up. Super.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually Brian is hitting .303 right now. But still. If they trade Brian then everything they told us about building for the future is full of s***. They should of trade Crede the minute he hit .234 and should of sent Garland gone a while back. They told us for years to wait on these guys, and now we are ready to jetison a 1st round draft pick who plays great defense and has some potential so we can put some < 700 OPS hitting old guy in CF. Give me a break. The thing about Crede and Garland, I don't see how you could possibly be serious. But what you said about Brian, I agree 100%
  8. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I kinda hinted this in a previous post, but can't we wait until the season is two months over before we crucify everyone? All I have seen on this board so far is Pods sucks, Erstad sucks, Ozzie sucks, KW is an idiot, the 5th spot in the rotation is a disaster, the bullpen is a mess, Iguchi can't hit unless he is in the two whole, Perez and Anderson are gods (I guess that counts as positive though), etc. Why must we cruscify the whole team before the season started??? For all we know Pods will return to 03/05 form, and Erstad can put up 2000 esque numbers. Stranger things have happened. And what if Iguchi puts up massive power numbers being able to be a free swinger again? And what if John Danks wins ROY or Gavin Floyd becomes lights out? And maybe Nick Masset/David Aardsman/Charlie Haeger/Whoever, become good solid bullpen arms. And I bet there were more question marks about the 05 team then the 07 team. The real point of these thread is to bring some sanity and maybe some optimism to the board. I have no problem with some pessimism, but it is getting ridiculous. You know what, I am not that optimistic right now either, and I am not that positive of a person, but I have faith. Faith that the coaching staff, Ozzie, Kenny, and all of the players will bounce back this year with a great season. Have a new hunger, and shutup all the doubters. Right now the White Sox are considered to be like how they were before 05, a mediocre team, but I for one think this team can be the best team in all of baseball this year, if the ball bounces our way. Keep the faith (that is what this years slogan should have been) Thank you.
  9. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 09:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh, trust me...its not the outfield I want. Was a bit of sarcasm there. You won't find a bigger supporter of an Erstad/BA/Dye OF with Pods on the bench than me, but its not happening. Anderson is going to Charlotte, injury or not. Alright, I haven't been on here much lately, so forgive me ignorance. WTF is all this s*** about BA not starting? Is it that stuff about him partying or what? I'm really puzzled as to why the hell Erstad would be starting CF instead of BA (not putting this injury into account).
  10. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whatever team pays him that is nuts. Not really the amount per year but the length. Whatever team is paying him 18 million a year when hes in his late 30s is gonna be hurting.
  11. You know, I haven't spent as much time on this site lately, and now I'm coming here and hearing stuff about Brian likely not making the team, and Erstad getting the starting CF job and all I can say is WTF.
  12. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> White, slow, not-talented-enough-to-make-it-on-talent-alone, dives, crash into walls ....... that's called a GRINDER. One other thing, GRINDERS usually come cheap. I want talent. Honestly, I love Aaron and all, but Anderson IMO deserves the job much more, and it would just be another item that wouldn't fill any of the holes we have right now.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 01:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Luis Terrero is taken over him in order to get BA 'consistent ABs in AAA' because he's just not good enough to make the team out of Spring Training. I admit I don't know much about some of these prospects, so I'm wondering how exactly these candidates compare to Anderson, because my only question regarding Anderson in terms of making the spot is how his defense is. I don't see how Brian shouldn't make it (just based on what I know).
  14. How the hell does Anderson not make the 25-man roster?
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not really sure where I said I didn't want Mark. However Hideaway brought up the point, if Kenny can give Vazquez a new deal, why not Mark. My point is, why would any GM rush to give a new deal to a pitcher coming off a 2nd half that was the worst in baseball? Point taken. But I think Javier is much more a risk to be signed than Buerhle, based on what I said. Buerhle had a bad year, but overall he's been consistent, whereas Javier has not, unless you mean consistently dissapointing.
  16. So you'd rather have a starter with one (correct me if I'm wrong) great season and plenty of bad ones than the exact opposite?
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 01:01 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because Vazquez had a much better season than Buehrle.... As it stands right now, I am very happy the Sox don't have Mark locked up. Mark had a bad season. He's proved himself over a NUMBER of seasons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Javier has NOT.
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Frank has not always been nice to the media, but I have never once heard that he was a bad teammate. I love the man and always will, he will always be my favorite player in a White Sox uni and favorite baseball player ever. Can't wait till he is enshrined in Cooperstown. Most people, at least as far as I know (myself included) don't really look forward to getting older in general (getting that much closer to the end of the line), but if there's one thing I'll enjoy other than (hopefully) marriage, children and a good career (hopefuly accomplishing my dreams), it will be seeing that happen.
  19. I hope we don't become the next Kansas City Royals.
  20. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't wait for some baseball. can't believe P&C is only 5 days away. Snuck up on me this year. I guess that's what happens when you have a good college basketball team to follow. Yeah, so much for the Bears...
  21. I remember people saying left and right that Floyd wasn't very good at all and had no control or something similar and that Haegar was the man for the job, so I'm a bit surprised at these poll results.
  22. QUOTE(Damen @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but it wasn't until Miller Lite came along that I'd have to listen to morons sputter on about how i'm not allowed to drink good beer properly, because apparently that makes you gay. Anytime I hear someone quote a "Man Law" seriously, I hope for the day they drown in a lake of pig s***. In general, I agre. But dude, it's just advertisement. It's all humor. I'd feel bad for any moron that takes all that s*** seriously and spouts it off.
