  1. Does anyone have any ideas why sportsline don't have any pics up at the moment? They have loads of the Yankees and Braves.
  2. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) yea, the 18-20-20-18 weekends are the worst... then it gets easy right before your marathon. I ran one in Orlando in 1999 - the Disney marathon and did it sponsoring the Leukemia Society. The day after I signed up, litereally the day after, I broke my foot playing softball. I couldn't even train for the damn thing so I just walked/ran it. But hey, at least I finished! Managed 21 miles on Sunday, only just coming around from it today! The hard stuff is now over and it looks like I'm on track to break 4 hours and get a PB. Here's hoping.

  5. Thanks guys (and girls).
  6. Daylight saving time is messing me up here. What time is it in Chicago please?
  7. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 03:03 AM) Starbucks Yankees or Red Sox Red Sox, I wouldn't know how to wear Yankees. T or A?
  8. QUOTE(sti3 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) I'm into hip-hop, trance, techno, but also some rock. Thanks for the link! You'll probably do better with this link. One of the girls that I coach vouches for this place on a Wednesday night.
  9. QUOTE(sti3 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Ras Kass sucks. Hey DePloderer, I'm going to Leeds for work at the end of April hopefully. Having seen JD live you might be a little old to ask this but are there any good clubs to hit there? Or even just Pubs with DJs? Ah yes I only have my memories now. I'm told that there's a great nightlife in Leeds these days, I'll ask around. How old are you, what are you into? You might like to look at this link.
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) you saw them live? Lucky bastard, i've been trying to find that live vinyl for a couple months now...i hate ebay so no to that. Thats so cool. I don't know if i've mentioned this yet but Jose` Gonzales' cover of Love will tear us apart is pretty good ...so many terrible covers of that song (square pusher LOL) that he really seemed to nail it. I went through a period of weekly gigs when at Art College, right time right place. Saw everyone from Souxie and Banshees (including Robert Smith, he of the Cure) through The Police and on to Genesis. Cosmopolitan or what! Didn't know Jose Gonzales had covered Love', will have to look out for it.
  11. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) closer was the first JD album i heard and as soon as the drums came on in Atrocity exhibition i was hooked. I saw them in Sheffield and Love Will Tear Us Apart just blew us away!
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) sweet... haha, they were fascists... DePloderer, which do you prefer, closer or unknown pleasures. I think i'd like warsaw the best if the sound quality didn't bite the dust. I'd have to go with Closer, Heart and Soul and Isolation are tops. Although as an album Substance wins out for me.
  13. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) I've been to Manchester . . . so it has to be Liverpool! But cheers to Manchester for keeping some dark mild brewing tradition going. Ahh, IPA or ESB? Ohh, IPA anytime. Apples or Oranges
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) Oceans, natch. L.A. or San Fran? Can I jump in? LA Manchester or Liverpool.
  15. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) i could totally google this but i'll just guess there was some gay french government division of jo.y... hehe, i'm laughing at how terrible a guess that is. it could only be correct. Shame ian curtis killed himself. I never could get into new order Illustrating the state of Curtis's mind he changed the bands name from Warsaw (this came from the track of the same name on Bowie's album Low) to Joy Division after reading about Nazi concentration camps, where groups of females were kept especially for the "entertainment" of the guards. These poor ladies were collectively known as the Joy Division. From time to time the name change to New Order has caused the band some trouble, with minority groups believing the band had leanings towards Fascism. Something constantly denied by the band.
  16. Trivia Time Can anyone tell me where they got the name Joy Division from?
  17. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Where is the jump through the window emoticon? Didn't want to be too hard on you mate.
  18. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) yaay, i just went and bought the tenth anniversary stone roses s/t at the record store...and while a great record there was really no point in me buying it. They didn't add anything that great. I shoulda just stuck with my original copy and saved the 16. I love the stone roses. Can't believe they only lasted one album Come on Bmags, it might not be as good as their first album, but The Second Coming was their second album. Ian Brown (lead singer) released a "Best of" of all his solo stuff late last year.
  19. I'm re listening to some of my older stuff while training and can't get over how good the Stone Roses were. If you haven't listened to their blend of 60's guitar riffs, 70's smooth jams and 80's dance beats you just haven't lived. Check out Waterfall or I am the resurection. ENJOY!
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) so have you done any of your 20 miler training runs yet? 18 miles last Sunday, 21/22 this Sunday! I swear these are harder than the actual Marathon.
  21. Cheers Chisoxfn, thanks for your help.
