  1. Sorry fella's, too busy tonight (marathon training again), should be able to get my first one done, correct lettering and size tomorrow.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) Ya, if you could make it 325 width and Who's that would be sweet Deploder. And the one that is the current size may be able to work for something else (if you can switch it to Who). Otherwise cool stuff. I'll get on it tomorrow.
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) If you can buy better seats from someone, you may be able to sell your extras outside the ballpark the day of the game. Just had a PM from Chisoxrd5, so it looks like I'm going to be OK. Cheers Chisoxrd5
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 10:22 AM) I'd keep bumping this thread about once a week. As the time gets closer, someone will realize they just can't make the game. Thanks YASNY. Just to clarify though, I do not want something for nothing. I am looking to SWAP my tickets for some better seats and to pay the difference.
  5. I'm a little short on decent pictures of the squad and was asked a while ago for an Ozzie wall, so here goes nothing. and one for those with a 1280x1024 screen;
  6. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) http://www.stubhub.com/chicago-white-sox-t...event_id=223575 Thanks Steve, but I'd prefere to swap with someone I "know", if you know what I mean.
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) Why not fly Southwest? You can fly out of Wash DC or Norfolk to Chicago's Midway Airport. Cheers, definatley flying!
  8. As you might have seen in another topic I'm finaly going to make it to a game. Trouble is the only tickets I could get are for; Seat location: section BOX542, row 13, seats 14-15. As this is our first ever game (probably the last for a while) I was hoping for better seats. Would any season ticket holders mind swapping these for better seats, hopefully in the lower level. Obviously I'd be happy to pay whatever was required. The game in question is Detroit Tigers Saturday August 12, 2006 6:05 pm Thanks.
  9. Thanks to all who have offered advice, I'll be printing it off to use nearer the time. I do however have a further question; it seems my lovely wife isn't all that keen on the 10 hour drive, so does anyone know if there are any train services between Chicago and the Bristol end of Virginia, failing that Washington DC? I'll post my request for swapping tickets in the Ticket Exchange.
  10. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) Agreed, BlackAdder is absolutely hilarious. Which one is Hugh Laurie in Black Adder though? The prince? Bolrick? Anyone know if BlackAdder is available on DVD in the US? In Blackadder series 2 he plays Simon Partridge and Prince Ludwig in Blackadder series 3 he plays George, Prince of Wales in Blackadder's Christmas Carol he plays George, Prince of Wales and Lord Pigmot in Blackadder The Cavalier Years he has a walk on part as a Roundhead and in Blackadder Goes Forth (final series) he plays The Honorable George Colhurst St. Barleigh. and yes I am a bit of a Blackadder anorach!
  11. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) "House" is really not that great of a show, but the character House is probably the best character on tv. He's great. If you want to see Hugh Laurie (House) in a very different light and can get to see older British TV, look out for Jeeves and Wooster or better still any of the BlackAdder series'. BTW in case you are not aware BlackAdder also starred Rowan Atkinson in the leading role. A far superiour show to Mr Bean, which I am told was very popular in the US, although I'm not sure why.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) If you do, get tickets ASAP as they are going INCREDIBLY fast. Unfortunatly I snoozed. Lost those tickets but managed to get 2 tickets for Sat Aug 12, Box 542 row 13. So I guess I'll be there. Question to all season ticket holders. Would anybody agree to swap their better seats for these. Obviously I'd be happy to pay the difference.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) This thread is kinda funny...you know how much of 'information overload' this must be for someone who has never been to chicago? Eat here, u have to eat this, go there, do this, we'll tailgate, sit in the lower deck, blah blah blah. hehe..well at least we all mean well The more info the better, I've already googled Steff's pizza place, looks good. It looks like it'll be the Detroit game on Saturday. i'm looking on the sox site and can still get tickets for BOX149 row23 Lower Box Left Field Lower Level . Am I being stupid thinking I can get seats nearer the diamond. BTW I can't believe how cheap these tickets are compared with UK sports tickets.
  14. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) Get this man an Italian beef sandwich before he leaves Chitown!!! Italian beef sandwich sounds good. BTW what is a tailgate party anyway.
  15. Calm down calm down, lets not fall out. I was thinking of fast food style before the game, pizza sounds great and something better for the evening before, price for this is not an issue, we'll be on holiday after all. I can't think of any style of cuisine we don't enjoy, I was hoping for something away from the tourist trail.
  16. Sad to say that it's reported over here that he'll be deported back to the UK around December and they are NOT sure if he'll be imprisoned here when that happens. I realy realy hate this man. Obviously because he is a depraved animal but also because he has robbed me of many memories. I was the biggest Gary Glitter fan as a young boy you could ever meet, all his singles and posters on my wall. I now can't listen to the opening bars of Do You Want To Be In My Gang without feeling sick.
  17. You guys don't rake your sons then? It's the only way to keep them tidy. As long as the food is hot and tastey I have no preference, fast food is fast food. I suppose I'd prefere something that might be typical to Chicago, not available the world over,deffinatly not Mac's or Subway. As for the family night out, where do you fella's with families take them when eating out?
  18. I've finaly convinced my other half that a 10 hour drive from Chicago to Virginia is a great way to see more of America than we usualy get when visiting my in-laws. So this coming August we're flying into Chicago, spending a couple of days there and then driving down to her family in Virginia. So to all you regulars I need some help. Where are the best seats in the stadium? I'll be raking my son (13 yrs) so please bare that in mind. When watching football over here there are certain areas of the ground that I wouldn't want to take him. Are American stadiums similar? Where's the best place to buy tickets? Best place for a beer? Can you drink inside the stadium? Where's the best food located? Which is the best fast food outside the stadium/ To sum this post up, where should we go, what should we do to experiance a typical White Sox ball game? While your at it, any suggestions for a great family night out, restaurants, entertainment?(Bar for Dad?)
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) I have no idea, and if no one else does, you can always email the team and see if they can help you out. These guys are a half season rookie ball team, that pretty much is the lowest level of the minor leagues for the White Sox. Odds are most of the guys never really did anything for the Sox. [email protected] I didn't realy expect anyone to know, but I wondered if they went on to play for better teams. I did send them to Bristol, but got no reply. Here's on of the starting pitcher, he looked pretty good at the time, if I remember right he only gave up 1 run on 2 or 3 hits through 6 or7 innings.
  20. i was going through some old pics from my last trip to the USA and found this. We visited family from near to Bristol VA and got to a few games. I was wondering if anyone knew they were. I have a couple of others that I will post later.
  21. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) Rumblefish Yep, I'll try harder next time.
