This was a baseball decision, Swisher didn't perform so we dumped him. There is no reason to believe Swisher pissed anyone in the organization off with anything other than his play.

Marquez and Nunez are throw-ins, they aren't in our big league plans at all. Quite frankly they both kinda suck.

I meant to type "a Beltran" (as in a high caliber veteran), but what I mean by that is you dont free up $24 mil over the next few years just for the sake of doing so. It's stupid to point to a year ago and say Kenny Williams screwed up, you dont let those events in the past, that are quite frankly irrelevant now, cloud your decision making for the future and present. The money is off the books and we got a backup IF who at least has the potential to hit a baseball every once and a while. I'm fine with the deal as long there is a big move that we can get really excited about coming up.

Marquez will never pitch for the White Sox, but that doesnt mattter. This deal is about freeing up money for something bigger and we picked up a pretty decent bench player in the process who might do really well at US Cellular. If we sign Viciedo or acquire Beltran with this money were saving this Swisher deal looks pretty damn good.

I think we may have a winner as to why we made this trade.

Betemit has a lot of power potential and can play any IF position.

Getting Wilson Betemit means the end of Juan Uribe.

This is a salary dump guys, $24 mil off the books for a scrap. It is however a pretty obvious sign KW is clearing up salary for something bigger, Aaron Poreda might want to pack his bags soon because were going to take on something big. Carlos Beltran?
