Nelson Mandela
Im sick of hearing about the goddamned World Cup like it mattered. Being better than Ukraine is pretty easy, take a look at the news now about whats going on there and the recent past with Kuchma and Yanukovych. Sadly, Id still rather live in Ukraine because at least they dont have an actual culture of rape combined with an AIDS epidemic.

Nelson Mandela
Today's South Africa is more corrupt than Rwanda and the President is comically stupid. Hes noted numerous times his beleif that HIV doesnt lead to AIDS and when he had sex with/raped (he got acquitted IIRC) an HIV+ girl he claimed a shower protected him from the disease. Plus the country is basically a smoldering pile of s*** with a rich-poor gap that defies imagination. Its a violent country, and that violence comes from a violent past. Apartheid was eventually doomed to our globalised world, the sanctions were piling up and old allies turned their back on the Apartheid Govt. The chance was there to do it without violence, and he passed it up and went out for blood. Once it was inevitable the ANC was taking control of course he preached reconciliation and peace. He won, he got what he needed out of violence and its not like he was going to need to get oppressive to force the guilted and vastly outnumbered whites to fund this massive reperations and welfare scheme thats clearly sinking the country.

The Value of Chris Sale
Sale is too valuable to trade. The Sox know what they have and will demand the moon for him, and no team is going to pour all their young talent into one player.

Killing civilians is generally bad, particularly in domestic conflict.

Nelson Mandela
Killing innocent people because of the color of their skin would be a great way to start. Oh, the American Revolutionaries laid the foundation for an eventual world power that on the whole sparked much less evil than its hegemonic predecessors. Meanwhile South Africa is a total s***hole. AIDS and rape capitol of the world, an education system that is no longer discriminatory but now universally awful and a single party system that rules by force. Great job, Nelson! Sounds a lot like Apartheid, just for everyone. South Africa is like Obama though, you levy an ounce of criticism against it and youre immediately racist. Its a liberal pet thats grown big, nasty horns.

Nelson Mandela
He didnt spend 27 years in prison for thought crimes, which is oddly what many people in the USA seem to think. Or at least thats the imoression you get hearing the MLK and Ghandi comparisons. He blew people up. He told people to blow people up. His wife (Mandela's connection to this exactly will never be known) had a habit of putting rubber tires around people's necks and lighting them on fire as an execution method. The Spear of the Nation, the military arm of the ANC, was a paramilitary group that targeted civilians. He founded it. The Apartheid Govt was nasty, but they got a lot more nasty in response to the violence. He scared the living s*** out of them and made them feel forced to crack down instead of negotiate because they feared the 90% majority was going to massacre them. Its part of the reason Apartheid lasted so long. Ghandi and MLK he was not. George Washington he was not. He was brash and ruthless and the monster he created (the ANC) has done nothing but f*** that country up worse and worse.

Nelson Mandela
He was a murderer and war criminal that got a free pass.

Paul Konerko Returning to White Sox
$2.5M? I'd pay that just to kick the tires on Paul Konerko.

Paul Konerko Returning to White Sox
I love this move. 1) No matter what it pays long term dividends. The White Sox develop a reputation for looking out for their guys. Think Chris Sale, I mean its hard to say where he will be when his contract runs up as a player, but if he's still good he could look at this and think this is an org he'd like to stay with. 2) If Ventura flops Paulie can seamlessly step in to manage this team. 3) He could have a dead mans bouce, or some sort of return to form. Dude can hit, we know that much.

Relationship Advice Thread
Kind of ironic looking at Sonik's situation. The girl Ive pretty much been in love with for 4 years now is struggling with breaking up with her boyfriend of a few years because hes wanting to settle down and this girl doesnt settle down. I obviously dont say anything more than meaningless bulls*** when she brings it up because its just such a morally bereft move to corrode a relationship like that. I dont know, the delusion of getting back with her is over. I've had some great girls before and some great girls since but the feelings with them go away pretty quickly and I get over it like a normal person. This one though, man... she's got me and I cant let it go. I really cannot go for it and just spew it all back out because its wrong, and she knows anyway without me saying. She flirts a little, we talk a lot... it sucks having to give up those little windows where I could start building something.

NYC Sends Gun Confiscation Notice
The NY SAFE Act had a pretty pathetic grandfather clause. A lot of people were made criminals.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
I actually think Trestman is making the right calls, they just arent working. Robbie Gould doesnt miss 47 yard FG's, the defense is so bad 3 points feels inadequate much of the time anyways and being aggressive with the ball is something Trestman was brought in to do. This team wasnt going to do anything this year once the injuries started piling up on D. I know McCown has been great, but losing Cutler hurt too. This team cannot execute, Trestman is making the right calls and doing the right things but the guys on the field arent coming through

Paul Walker was a legitimate car enthusiast. It bums me out, those movies helped keep car culture alive.

The laws are built on an obvious lie that things like gun confiscation will never happen.
