  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) If the Pirates don't want him on their major league roster, why would the White Sox? Brian Anderson will come around with the bat, just give him time. I'm all for giving BA a chance to succeed.....I've supported him quite a bit on here and am not ready to run him out of town (as many people have suggested). However, if time shows that he needs more seasoning in AAA, Duffy could be a more adequate replacement than any other options currently available (I don't like Mack or Ozuna in CF as I think we need something better there defensively). I don't even know if Chris Duffy is that solid defensively (maybe thats why he lost his job early in the year?)....however, I just thought it might be a cheap alternative to keep an eye on if a move needs to be made.
  2. I don't know much about this kid, but I'm guessing he may have fallen a little out of favor with Pittsburgh after initially refusing an assignment to AAA. Furthermore, it seems like he can hit big league pitching as he averaged .341 over 39 games last season. Lastly, centerfield seems to be his natural position. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2480921 I'm guessing he's not the best option available.....but if everyone else wants to rape and pillage the organization to complete a deal, this may be an affordable option?
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) No he wasn't.. He had me sold on the idea though!
  4. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) Too bad we have two of the best players in baseball at that position ahead of him. Bench Thome. Or Konerko! Can Gload play CF??
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) I saw Iguchi's hit, so the rally continued with me watchin. But you hadn't posted at that point.....so it didn't count!
  6. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Go Back to 7-11 NOW Don't you need a p'eatzza or something???
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) I don't want to say anything. So I won't. Don't none of you either. I called the rally before the start of the inning....so I can't retract it now!
  8. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) 10-5, Cleveland. Now we need five more! I want 6......no extra innings tonight!
  9. I'm sensing a 9 run rally in the bottom of the ninth....sox win 11-10!
  10. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Yea he said a pitcher. Maybe he was talking about Koch?
  11. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) Didn't hear it, but I'm guessing Carlos Lee. I think he said that was a pitcher as well?
  12. I think he walks than Widge hits a grand slam
  13. I know its a lot to ask, but I think we have to continue being patient with BA. As many have stated, his glove far outweighs any additional offensive output which would be gained by Mack, Pablo, or any other option. Furthermore, many young players have a hard time adjusting to major league pitching when starting their careers. We need to look no further than Paul Konerko to see how tough the transition can be for even the best players. In 1997-98, he averaged just over .200 and hit only 7 HR's in 81 games. It wasn't until he arrived in Chicago for the 1999 season that he begun to reach his potential. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=3747 I'm not saying that BA will ever become the player that PK is (wouldn't it be nice if does though!).....however, I can guarantee you that both the Dodgers and Reds are disappointed they didn't give this guy more of a chance. Let's at least give Brian 2 more months to come around since we don't appear to have any viable canidates for replacement either on the roster or in the minors. If Kenny Williams is able to perform some magic and steal an all star caliber center fielder in exchange for a polish sausage (or something similar), than by all means make the change. But don't do it just to give up on the kid and don't rush the move when any replacement you have will hurt the team defensively.
  14. AJ just said Barrett told him "I didn't have the ball b****"
  15. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 20, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) For his own safety, I expect Barrett will not play tomorrow I'm guessing AJ won't either....he might not have started anyways since it is Sunday
  16. Should be interesting to hear what Ozzie has to say about today's brawl!
  17. Here's brief highlights of that lowlife Barrett acting like a punk... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctsYoWLgtuY
  18. QUOTE(steve @ May 20, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) this is the kind of game that makes me happy to have a TIVO this is the kind of game that makes me pissed i can't watch it...f***in bastards at fox!!!
  19. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 20, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) I don't want Freddy to throw at them. I want THORNTON to throw at them. Build this f***ing lead, guys. I want Jenks to throw a 100 mph heater at Barrett's head tomorrow...that should provide adequate retaliation!
  20. It's not MVP numbers (and I don't expect those out of BA....especially as a rookie), but the kid is hitting .269 with a pair of homers over the past 10 games. His defense has probably saved at least a run or two over that period as well. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...layer_id=435042 Would I rather have Rowand in there? Sure I would (I'd take ARow over every other center fielder in the game). However, we had to give up a lot to acquire Thome and I think BA is beginning to do a very admirable job of filling this position.
  21. Bobby....Bobby....he's our man.....if he can't do it, nobody can!
