  1. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) I'm not sure if this exactly the right place for this thread, considering I have heard no source of information hearing the White Sox would be interested. I know that Thome is still on the DL, but with the emergence of top prospect Ryan Howard, does anyone think that the Phillies may just want to dump his salary? Considering that rumors are that Frank may be out for the season, I think Kenny should seriously consider acquiring Thome, a powerful left handed hitter is exactly what this team needs, and he could DH. Once again, I did not hear that the White Sox are interested in Thome, I am just curious to see if any of you would like to see Kenny go after him. CWSOX45 Absolutely not.....way too much salary to swallow there in the years to come for a player that is not producing much at this point in his career. I'd rather resign Konerko with those dollars (although I think there may be better options available in the offseason).
  2. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) I've got to believe KW is holding onto Shingo in a potential Giants deal or Florida or something else we don't know about. I would think it wouldn't be hard to just dump Shingo for a spect if KW really wanted to do that. If thats the case, we can't wait to the deadline on Sunday. Shingo's 10 days will be up on Thursday and he'll become a free agent. I guess the longer he stays with us.....the better chance they'll be a big move on on the 28th???
  3. All the talk has recently focused on bigger fish such as Burnett, Griffey, Wagner, etc.....however, the 10 days to deal Takatsu expires in just 48 hours. Has anyone heard if we'll be able to get anything for him? I'm not expecting major returns (unless he's part of a package deal).....however, I truly hope we don't just end up releasing him and getting nothing. I think he'd still have some value to several organizations around the league.
  4. Was this an imitator at the Cell? According to the Trib, Woo Woo has gone AWOL.... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) Damn, I woke up and saw about 5 news pages on this thread and I was sure some deal went down. Now I'm disappointed. I always wake up hoping to see some trade news. I'm really not hoping for a trade just to make a trade.....if Kenny can pull something off that greatly helps this team, I'm all for it. However, I know thats going to be very difficult this year as there's more buyers than sellers. If he can find a team that we can rape and pillage, I'd rather play with the guys we have than gamble on a project or a new mix of chemistry.
  6. Carl gets a single....than Frank goes deep.....put it on the board!!!!
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) cubs closer is? They don't have one
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) i really like the way that oz is in every game...i mean once again he jumped out of the dugout and immediately removed crede from that situation. more importantly thru the year it seems that each sox player respects oz and immediately lets him take over! Hopefully Ozzie is getting tossed during the commercials....we need something to start a spark!
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) Game Not if a new thread is started......we can win this in the 9th if we get some new mojo
  10. We need some new karma this game.....a mod needs to start a new gameday thread!
  11. Come on....does anyone really think dinosaurs ever existed? If they had, they'd own all the HR records (no steroids necessary for them)
  12. In their newest player ratings, cbssportsline has all 5 of the White Sox starters ranked within the top 50 in the league! This is quite an accomplishment and I never would have imagined it at the beginning of the year. I'm glad all these guys are living up to their potential though and making this a great year to remember! http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/playerrankin...SP?&start_row=1
  13. I think the only fans left at Petco are White Sox fans!
  14. The Padre announcers just said no one is up in the bullpen so it looks like its Cliff's game to finish all the way.
  15. I think Dye's AB in the 9th may have helped us after all....Hoffman ususally pitches an inning or less and is not used to sitting on the bench before coming back in. Perhaps this helped in making him vulnerable this inning. Way to go Ozzie and forcing the early move!
  16. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for the long ball.....come on Jermaine!!!!!!!!!!
  17. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) make that 4 it's almost funny how these little dinks are falling. Dinks are good....so are duck snorts....anything that scrores a run I'll take!
  18. I just saw a notice on ESPNNews that Pods will be the guest on The Hot List at 3pm EST (2pm CST) today. I know this is simulcast on ESPN.....so if you don't have ESPNNews, you can tune in there.
  19. I loved Greg Walker as a player.....but I'm beginning to think he needs to be replaced as hitting coach. The production by our players is anemic and showing no signs of improvement.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) A balk with nobody on base? Too bad we didn't have a runner on third!
  21. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) DJ was acting like it was no big deal. Just a mild hamstring tweak, That was what the Angel announcers were speculating as well (lets hope the guys in the booths are right here!)
