  1. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) Florida crowds blow. If this Y2J deal was in Philly, MSG, or Chicago, it would've been 1000 times better. 100 percent agreed. The crowd pop was decent, but it would have reached deafening if it had taken place elsewhere. Jericho looked really pumped up, but the intro lasted too long because the crowd didnt last as long as they should have. LOL at Jericho calling Orton robotic and boring
  2. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 07:11 AM) This Saturday morning my family and I leave for Disney World. I'm soooooo excited it's not even funny. NOBODY in my house is even really thinking about Christmas. It's pretty crazy. DisneyWorld and Epcot are awesome. I could spend all day on the Coral reef ride in Epcot, then turn around and hang out at the Haunted Mansion the next day in Disneyworld.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) I had to pick my dad up from the airport, so glad I didn't miss Jericho. i would assume he will be interrupting the ceremony which is fine. I saw the Lawler RKO, what others did I miss? he also RKOed Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly after they finished their match.

    Sad Story

The worst part of the whole thing is that this was orchestrated by adults, in order to find out what the suicide victim thought of their daughter. Thats just messed up on so many different levels, these "adults" mind-f***ed this girl with some pretty significant mental health problems, and she committed suicide.
  7. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) SIU beats NIU 88-68. Nice to see a lot of the young guys and bench players step up. Still it was against NIU, and giving up 68 to team that didn't score in the first 10 minutes in unacceptable. I expect CLo to give them hell because they completely gave up on D in the second half! Were not Floorburn U because we give up 68 to a s*** team! Still, it's a W and we need to DO WORK in the Tourney next week to meet up with USC and put this "RPI killer" of NIU away. Most of the points given up in the second half were given up with the starters on the bench. I think the score at the half(43-21) is a pretty good indication of what the starters were able to do. Even then, most of the starters were coming out late in the first half
  8. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 08:31 AM) It's a weird, sad story, for sure. The last ten years of Lugers career and his life have been wierd and sad. I wonder if him and Sting are still business partners and best friends
  9. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 06:02 PM) Wow, Luger still hasn't regained the use of his limbs??? [courtesy, as always, Lords Of Pain.net] source: 1Wrestling.com -- Lex Luger was finally transferred from California to an Atlanta area hospital last week. Unfortunately for Luger, he still has not regained the use of his arms or legs after suffering what is thought to have been a "spinal stroke" while on the west coast to attend an autograph convention four weeks ago. Before he was left in paraplegic state, Luger was scheduled to have hip replacement surgery last week and had been told by doctors that they were amazed he was able to walk given the deteriorating condition of both of his hips. That surprised me too when i read it. Last I heard, they were saying it was some sort of viral infection that they determined was going to be cleared up with anitbiotics. This is the first i heard it was a spinal stroke for sure in fact, here is your last update, critic QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) Here's an update on Lex Luger. sources: PWInsider.com, WWE.com, www.f4wonline.com At last word, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger is still hospitalized in Califiornia, but listed in stable condition. It appears he suffered an infection that caused a nerve impingement with his central nervous system, which led to temporary paralysis. He did not have a heart attack or stroke. Luger is currently undergoing intravenous antibiotic treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
  10. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) They looked better last night, but with Ben Wallace's public complaints about playing time last night, this s*** might get out of hand. Ben Wallace, of the under-the-basket-missed-bunnies fame? Complaining about PT? How about hit a free throw. Or a 1 foot layup. Or get a rebound when it matters, not when your team is already down 10 points. Im done with that goon. He will soon be known to the rest of the NBA as an expiring contract

    The Office

Hilarious episode tonite. Toby laughing at Michaels diary was classic, and Kelly talking smack is pretty funny too "You expect to get screwed by your employer. But you never expect to get screwed by your girlfriend"

  14. I dont care how bad JBLs back is, he would annihilate Morrison. I saw the back and forth between Morrison and Miz, it was absolutely awful. 3rd grade stuff
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 10:43 AM) He probably thinks "I wish I still had a career." LOL, and the thought that follows that is "At least I still have a hot wife who brings in tons of money!"
  16. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) I kind of have mixed feelings on them ever making any of the DT books into movies. Many of the other stories that he's written that tie into the DT like Hearts in Atlantis and IT were made into movies and they completely removed the DT connection in the movie. Yeah, thats why I think it is such a huge undertaking. Anyone just seeing the DT movies(and there would be MANY movies) without much SK background just wont see the references to the other books and would probably be confused about it. And Clint Eastwood really couldnt pull of playing Roland anymore. Maybe 10 years ago, but not now
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) Mario Galaxy is quite possibly the best game I have ever played. why dont you tell me how you really feel?
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) It was definitely close. For the thousand plus pages of material, and a minimal budget, the mini series did an amazing job concentrating on the main issues. After finishing the novel several years ago I honestly believed the aforementioned points (budget, made for tv) worked in its favor. Some of the material, aside from the entire homosexual angle, just wouldn't work. Such as portraying the female member of their group as a whore, or the entire "Turtle" vomiting out the universe and 'IT' chilling underneath Derry since prehistoric times part. With all the references to Stephen King in this thread, I'm surprised no one has yet to suggest the film version of Pet Sematary was better than the book. Even though I enjoyed the movie, after reading the book it's obviously several notches below. I heard they're remaking the film, so perhaps now they'll attempt to recreate the Gage/Old Man encounter; or the forest Wendigo. Sometimes I think its best if Stephen King books are left alone after the first attempt(and second attempt for that matter. There was a Pet Sematary 2 starring the kid from Terminator 2). Maybe it will be a better go at it, but they really missed the boat on the first one. There has been some great King books translated into movies. I thought that "Thinner"(although it was his penname Richard Bachman) was a really good low budget thriller and did a really good job of following the book. Cujo and Carrie are obviously classics, Hearts in Atlantis, Firestarter, etc The bad thing is that for every good movie, there is about 2 bad ones that take its place with King. While I liked the movie(in a campy horror sort of way), "Maximum Overdrive" was nowhere near as good as the story, "The Mangler" is a great short story, bad movie(2 movies actually), "The Lawnmower Man" was NOT EVEN CLOSE to the actual short story, "The Children of the Corn" has been made and remade 50 times it seems and they never get it right. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000175/ Sometimes I look at that list of movies/books/novellas and I am amazed at what he has written. I havent read all of it, but I have read a good portion of it. If someone manages to pull off "The Dark Tower" series I will be a really happy guy, but the gravity of the storyline and everything it encompasses is a HUGE challenge.
  19. Jericho needs to grow his hair back. he doesnt look right
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 08:13 AM) As an avid EC horror fan who owns all of the Russ Cochran slipcase reprints and a good number of original comics, I definitely love Creepshow and the homage to both the old EC comics and the anthology horror film genre. But the stories themselves weren't comic adaptations. King wrote the Father's Day, Something to Tide You Over, and They're Creeping Up on You scripts specifically for the film, and the Jordy Verril and The Crate scripts were adapted from previous King short stories. The comic adaptation for Creepshow, with Berni Wrightson and Jack Kamen fittingly getting the nod to do the artwork, was itself a nice adaptation of the film. My Mom used to buy the Creepshow comics for me and my brother when we were waiting in line at the grocery store when we were kids. We must have gotten a few that were made directly from the movie, because the stories were all in the comics we got(plus more). On a side note, I really enjoyed those comics Oh well, I still loved both Creepshow 1 and 2.
  21. I downloaded First Wave Hello "The Lord & Its Penguin" and I love every minute of it. I saw them open for Ken Andrews(and play the dual role of his backup band) at the double door twice this year, and really liked their sound. The album is really good
  22. I would say that the movie adaptation of Stephen King's "It" was close to, if not better than the book. The book was good, dont get me wrong, but there is a whole sub-plot involving It killing a small population of homosexuals in Dairy(Derry?) that was left out of the movie, probably because it really didnt fit in the scheme of the storyline(or what was considered proper at the time the movie came out). The book is so thick, and it is a long part of the book that didnt really fit with the rest. Stephen King's "Cats Eye" has a couple of good adaptations of his short stories as well, especially the tennis player on the ledge. While I am at it, "Creep Show" was pretty damn good at adapting some of those comics as well, especially with adding the comic book flavor to the movie.
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 07:03 AM) I would love to slit your cat and dog's throat in front of you and your family and eat them as you watch. Damn good eats! Those are delicacies where I was raised. I just dont get this analogy. Not at all. I dont slit the throats of cows and chickens and watch them suffer and watch their owners get upset. If you are vegetarian, thats great, you may live longer and healthier(maybe). Why do you have to be angry at people who choose to eat meat? How does that affect you so much that you have to resort to comparing the slaughter of animals to the holocaust or talk about killing pets in front of their family?
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 02:46 PM) again? he's played 70+ games in each of his last 4 seasons. Yeah, but the media always plays up his nagging injuries. He is pretty consistent with having nagging injuries that keep him out a little bit here and there
