I just saw the interview with the girlfriend of the shooter, Jessica Baty. I went to high school and some college with that girl, and further more, she dated my roomate in college. It was wierd to see her on cnn.com
  3. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) There is a Barnaby's off Dundee Rd by the Highway in Northbrook. And Lou's is good, but I like the real Uno's or Edwardos better, Giardono's probably as well. I like NY style as well, they are just 2 different tastes so its really no use to compare them. As for NY style, I used to love this place back in Madison called Ian's, they are supposed to be creating one in Lincoln Park, but we will see. We go up to the Barnaby's in Schaumburg on Golf rd about once a month or so for a family get together. I like the pizza
  4. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) I don't think any agents would've granted that request. me neither. But I know it pissed off the Sox
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) That's part of it. The Ordonez negotiation was another part. And you can't honestly tell me that stuff has gone over well with Crede. And I think there's a few more that will get recalled by other folks here momentarily. was Bobby Hill a Boras client? Boras didnt endear himself to any general manager with the JD Drew/Phillies debacle Boras also solidified his non-negotiating status with the Sox in the original Alex Rodriguez negotiations, when KW wanted to talk to A-Rod and Boras wouldnt let him without being in the room.

  7. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) Problem is no matter where they test it, it isn't the same. I don't care if you ship it in frozen or try and replicate it locally, I guarantee you that neither type of pizza is as good as if you were buying it in the restaurant. I buy half baked pizzas from a local Chicago-style joint down and finish them at home. But it is still not as good as when it is brought to your table piping hot. I agree, but the creators of the show probably didnt want to risk bringing dirty New York firefighters to Chicago And it didnt matter anyways. Those guys all decided before the pizza was put on the table that they didnt like it, and they werent going to like it even if they tried it. It was rather embarrassing to watch them critique the pizza, kind of like asking a 7 year old to critique a meal at Mortons steakhouse.
  8. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) Shawn Chacon, Bartolo Colon, Josh Fogg, Freddy Garcia, Byung-Hyun Kim, Kyle Lohse, Rodrigo Lopez, Eric Milton, Tomo Ohka, Russ Ortiz, Odalis Perez, John Thomson, Jeff Weaver, and David Wells. Interesting, these guys once drafted or played with the White Sox, A couple of ex Twins on that list too I wouldnt be kicking the tires on many of these guys. Maybe give Garcia an 2 year incentive deal with the hopes of him being at full strength by next year
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) If Kennedy beats Flair, I will Riot! If a younger wrestler is to end Flairs career for a boost, it should be Orton. I have really soured on Kennedy where I don't care for him and if he was released, I would shrug it off. Didnt Orton already have his chance to end Flair's career?
  10. Anyone getting "No Way Out" tonite? Rumor has Flair losing to Kennedy, only to beg for a one shot deal at Wrestlemania next week. I also read that Triple H will win the elimination chamber, but it will be disputed by another wrestler in the match who will say he won as well, setting up a small feud that will be decided before Mania
  11. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) I guess I'd rather have a Detroit pizza instead of a Cleveland river on fire pizza. They also have the delicious Great Lake on Fire pizza
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) Skiles would never be able to recruit, and I don't see what college connections he has outside of going to a Big 10 school. Not sure why IU would make that hire, they could get much better choices. Ok, why is that?
  13. Does anyone believe that a postseason ban is forthcoming? If it was, would this happen next year or this year?
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) Or normal New Yorkers. Not a bunch of childish guys. I've enjoyed New York style. In fact, the best pie down here is a NY style. Actually just a little bit thicker, but stil you can fold it over. But I'll pass over it in a second for a Lou's deep dish. Oh yeah, they were clearly playing up their roles as tough new yorkers and being jerks about it. In Chicago, they had one firefighter who said he liked the New York style better, at least he had the balls to admit it. Admittedly Im not much of a deep dish fan, i really like thin style pizza. But that doesnt mean I wont eat it, I have a craving for Lous every once in a while. And the great thing is that I have a Lou's 3 blocks from my house on the corner of Roselle and Schaumburg road.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) That show sucked. I don't care if you have crappy taste and don't like something, but those guys were the stereotypical New York assholes. The Chicago guys showed the class that is Chicago. I thought the show was awesome until the end when the taste-testers showed up. I thought the history behind the brands in each city was really interesting, especially all the different naming rights issues and stolen crust recipes. But once those firefighters sat down, the show certainly did suck. What they needed to do was find some completely neutral participants and test it that way. I dont know, maybe some guys in Idaho or Washington or somewhere that those types of pizza arent readily available
  16. Does Kimbo have a future in regulated fights? I have watched a lot of his internet backyard fights, and he overmatched everyone I saw him fight except for the Cop, but then again he is fighting complete amateurs. Tank Abbott is no amateur per se, but he obviously doesnt take fighting as seriously as many of the other fighters considering his weight and overall general fitness. Is Kimbo just going to be a sideshow looking for tomato cans?
  17. QUOTE(BearSox @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) well, Wii's gonna have some competition soon. Appareantly Sony is going to turn the ps2 into a similar machine like the Wii and have a similar controller. Why would they bother going back to PS2 for that? Why wouldnt they work that into PS3 if they feel they need to compete with the motion sensor control aspect of the Wii? And I seriously doubt Nintendo is worried about competition, they are in their own little world with the DS and Wii now
  18. QUOTE(yoyozuna @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 08:44 AM) All I keep hearing is how PECOTA was dead on last year? Does anybody know what they predicted our record to be in 2005 and 2006? Also what did they predict for team like the Rockies or Brewers last year? Im pretty sure they had the Sox struggling in 2005
  19. "Pizza Wars - Chicago vs New York" was on the travel channel last week, and at the end of the show they lined up firefighters from a New York firehouse and a CHicago firehouse to eat Pizza from the other side. The New Yorkers were just plain ignorant, most of them wouldnt even try the pizza because they couldnt bend it in half and shove it down their throats. Just the idea of using a fork and a knife was offensive to them. At least all of the Chicago firefighters tried the pizza.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 06:06 AM) Lol nobody know when their shipments arrive.... and you never know how much your going to get either. Its crazy how high the demand for that machine still is. Circuit City on Meacham and Golf rd knew, two weeks ago I was in the store and the guy at the tech coutner told me the following thursday they were going to get a shipment(which they did), but you are right they didnt know how many they were going to get. and they also said to pay close attention to the weekly flyers too, supposedly they will say when Wii's are available. It is crazy how much that system is still in demand. I was sure that it would be the PS3's that nobody could find and the Wii's were going to be ready for you when you walked into the store.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Bryan Mullins. 1 game out of 2nd. Jesus christ. I couldnt believe that Creighton got spanked by Bradley that bad. Outside of Drake and Ill St, there is really no good road team in the MVC
  22. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) Leftwich worth a look at all? Doubtful, if he couldnt start over Joey Harrington i dont know if I want him getting a shot with the Bears. His practice/preperation habits are supposed to be less than spectacular
  23. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 16, 2008 -> 09:23 AM) anyone know where I can get a Wii? I go in gamestop and ask if they have any Wii's and they just give me a blank stare and "No". Im guessing they wont be readily available until late spring/early summer, other than that you just need to ask the stores when their shipment comes in and be at the store when it gets there.
  24. I agree about the Crumpler cut being puzzling, when that guy has a competent quarterback he is one of the best tight ends in the league. Too bad the Bears couldnt trade out Clark for Crumpler, probably cost prohibitive.
  25. I would love to see the conversation between Uribe and Guillen regarding Uribe losing his job. I wonder what Uribe's grievance would be. And Spring Training, YES!!!!
