  1. It might have started as a work and just got out of control. I still think it could be used for Khabib/Conor promotion, but there is a lot of legal stuff to sift through
  2. So Conor had an interesting night
  3. Opening night tonite, spring season double headers. gonna be cold AF and probably snowing :/
  4. i think Saladinos back is going to be an issue with him going forward. And that isnt something people just recover from, unfortunately
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 08:08 AM) Jones wasn't exactly fooling anyone...some of those balls would have been hits or even homers in the middle of the summer. The roof was closed and the ball was jumping the entire series, I dont think the summer would have made those balls go farther. Nate was just fortunate they didn’t get elevated
  6. That’s has to be just as far as Avi’s yesterday
  7. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 04:20 PM) Explain to me why Chase field has one then? Monsoon season? Chase Field experiences heat up to 120 degrees in the summer, and iirc they close the roof prior to night games and then open it up at night. Not even close to the same thing as a 90 degree summer night And no way in hell they(Chicago) would close the roof on a clear summer night
  8. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 04:13 PM) Geez, you missed the point. Between 7 and 8, yeah you need shade. My point 2as that when we left the game at 10:15 it was 91 degrees F. It sucked. Was 99 at 7pm when the game started. That was my point. So do you think in the middle of the summer on a (presumably) clear 90+ degree evening in Chicago, it they had a retractable roof they would have it closed?
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 12:58 PM) I haven't noticed this at much this season, but it is really annoying when the broadcasts become a glorified Q & A session with Stone. There's a difference between deferring and acting like this is the first time you've ever watched a baseball game. I think you are just thrown off because the Q and A session now stars Stone instead off Hawk. It was always like that with Hawk
  10. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 02:01 PM) No, it goes to more than that. It completely eliminates weather related delays other than the rare case of a tornado warning. Also, the on field product is better because the players are also more comfortable. I don't think it is realistic to do this anymore, because of all of the new stadiums that have been built in the last 25 years. Furthermore, there are multiple uncomfortably hot days in the dead of summer. When this generation of stadiums start to be replaced, it should be mandatory. A forward thinking commissioner would have had them be mandatory in 1988 when the Canadians engineered the first one. Come on man, stop acting like the commissioner in 1988 should have predicted global warming and made it a rule that retractable domes are mandatory. They were costly and unweildy and imperfect back then, and every dome was outfitted with awful astroturf. I get it that early spring weather is annoying, but get over it.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 12:00 PM) They can't let him walk, but the good news is its very unlikely another team would give him a max contract, so the Bulls shouldn't have to either. There is always a Hornets/Kings/Magic GM out there willing to make a splash
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 11:34 PM) Ohtani now 3/8 after taking all of spring training to come up with those numbers...make that 4/9. you are so itching to declare him the best international prospect ever, arent you
  13. I was less than impressed with Lavine. And while letting him walk makes the Butler trade look terrible, I just can’t see giving him a max contract (which he will obviously be seeking). His effort, shot selection, and absolute disinterest in playing with Dunn and Lauri really left a sour taste in my mouth
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 09:33 AM) Are any other Bears fans sorta unexcited about this draft? Like there's one scenario where it goes great (Chubb), then probably good (Fitzpatrick), then okay, I guess (Nelson), then well if we have to (Smith, Edmunds). Add to that the Bears are once again not the "fulcrum" pick. Though there are teams that are keen to trade up, the bears are not the team ahead of teams that people worry about. Boring. Not at all, just the opposite to be honest. Looking forward to seeing what holes they fill first and then see the fallout from the post draft free agency bonanza that always happens with June cuts
  15. So, how many of you are willing to give Lavine the max?
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:32 PM) I bet it annoys some Sox players as well. The whistle is just stupid clowning. Boston should be told to knock it off. Hero whistling for sure
  17. Have a day, Gregory
  18. Bears signed OL Earl Watford
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 12:29 PM) I mean the line is crossed when your 60 year old bench coach is using a whistle as the guy comes to bat...the Sox instigated this here and from all parties involved it seems no harm no foul. as long as he isnt blowing the whistle while Donaldson is swinging/in the box, i really dont know why it bothers him so much. If it was while he was walking up, i dont see why he cares so much
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 11:48 AM) Guys had some really poor swings yesterday. Especially Avi and Davidson. Let's hope for a little better today. I didn't quite know what a bandbox Rogers Centre is, might be a high scoring game tonight. When the roof is closed it plays extremely small
  21. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 11:47 AM) Does anyone have the story as to why Marquette King is a sox fan? He doesnt seem to be from Chicagoland, just from a quick glance at his bio https://twitter.com/MarquetteKing/status/978997893297156097 Marquette King ? Verified account @MarquetteKing Follow Follow @MarquetteKing More ???????????????????? @whitesox #Respect He just must be a cool guy
  22. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 11:00 AM) Sorry, this is slightly off topic, but does anyone else see these weird symbols when Caulfield posts? It seems to have started around the same time as the site outage and it's only his posts I've noticed it on. He said it was something to do with posting from an ipad. I noticed it on a few other posters as well, i think DA the other day.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 04:51 PM) And yet that?€™s the prism eveything is looked at today...especially if these tariffs are imposed by China. They?€™re specifically targeting his base (including EU)...Harley-Davidson WI, bourbon whiskey (TN/KY), farming/agriculture (numerous states, especially Heartland and Rust Belt.) Do you think he would still go after Amazon if Washington (state) had voted for him...? Or Howard Schultz from Starbucks didn?€™t criticize Trump at every opportunity? Heck, the GOP seems to be actively courting a ?€œculture war?€? with WA, OR, CA and Hawaii. Hollywood. Liberals. Elites. Silicon Valley minus Peter Thiel (of course, tax policy runs counter.) Net neutrality. Sanctuary cities. Yes, because he is mad at Bezos over the Washington Post, not losing the Washington state vote the purple monkey dishwasher doesnt help though
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 02:47 PM) This is a general comment and not a defense in this Fox case at all, but the swiftness with which social media outrage can destroy a person is scary. Every case is different and some are very justifiable, but say one thing or get caught on cell phone video in a compromising situation, and within 24 hours you can lose everything. Employment terminated, public name scorned, the works. And I don't know what you can do to get it back cause it will always be available via a simple Google search. It's crazy, especially with the react now, justify later mentality that social media helps instigate. It’s like the extreme opposite end of the pendulum from the situations where people like Harvey Weinstein and Roger Ailes were allowed to continue being terrible humans because of their power.
