QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 04:34 PM) Tough call on Hester to the HOF. Very exciting player, but it depends on how they value returners. I think he would be the first. He also did most of his damage in his first two years in the league. After those years, he had one kick off returned for TD. That's because they changed the rules because of him and coaches stopped kicking to him completely, that's why he stopped returning kicks

QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 06:30 PM) Hester's career is likely over. Has to be a HOFer right? He was the best ever at what he did. If they need to put some sort of exception in for him, they should

QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 04:27 PM) Yes, I think he was wrong with Cutler. The man decided Tebow/Orton were better than Cutler, which I'd say is pretty obviously wrong. If I'm not mistaken, I also think he pushed to draft Tebow. NE is good because of their head coach, I would be careful giving this guy another try. I sure hope the Bears don't go after him. No, he wanted Matt Cassell, it had nothing to do with Tebow and Orton. He tried to trade for Cassell and it failed, Cutler and his agent caught wind of it and when they talked to him about it, it got ugly and Cutler said "trade me". Then he ended up with Orton and drafted Tebow. He definitely didn't choose Tebow/Orton over Cutler, he just ended up with those two because he handled his business like a jackass

QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) Why would anyone be interested in hiring McDaniels? With the way he failed in Denver, I wouldn't think anyone would touch him again. I think he will get another shot at HC, and when it happens he won't be given full personnel control like he had in Denver. Giving him a competent GM that he can work with will probably benefit him a lot, he became a egomaniac in Denver by all reports

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) That article you linked is from last weekend. I know it's supposed to snow this Friday/Saturday, are they really calling for 5-10 inches again? http://abc7chicago.com/weather/abc7-first-...orecast/110063/ https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USIL0225:1:US sorry grabbed the wrong link. I heard this morning on the radio they are calling for a large amount of snow again on Friday and Saturday, then on Saturday temps are going to plunge again and it will turn to ice

Another hilarious review

Sounding like we are going to have back to back weekends of ridiculous snow. Im gonna be going home, loading up my snowblower and taking it in to get fixed before the weekend because it seems like a mere shovel aint gonna cut it. All summer long i put off getting it fixed lol anywhere from 5-10 inches expected

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 10:52 AM) I actually think playing a young QB preserves your job more than signing a vet. If you draft a QB, you typically get time. If you sign a vet and he's bad, you typically get fired. I agree, i just dont know that Fox has the patience for coaching up a QB right now. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) I think it will be Trubinsky. I hope you are right but I dont know that he falls to the Bears. Right now they have to worry about the Browns, 49ers, and seems like even Jacksonville selecting a QB before the Bears getting a crack. Trubinsky is getting a lot of hype now

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) I just think that's an insanely bad way to go about running this Bears team. Note that I'm not advocating bringing Cutler back - it's more of an argument against bringing in an FA stopgap. If Fox isn't happy with a rookie QB, then maybe Pace needs to part ways with him and bring in somebody who will work through a real rebuild. Fox has done an excellent job with the defense, but it's not close to being playoff ready or better. There's nobody on the FA market that solidifies the QB position long term. It's time to draft a QB and give them the reins. im not saying it is right or if they are ready to do that, im just saying i think that is what Fox wants to do to preserve his job. And honestly if it is Romo(which seems to be gaining some momentum after Clayton just named the Bears as his #1 most likely destination), you might have your rookie QB starting before the end of the preseason. He is made of glass

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) If you are going the veteran route, I don't know why you wouldn't just bring Cutler back. The cost of cutting him is minimal this offseason and next. There's no one on the open market that can be your long term solution at QB, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't just roll with Cutler for another year. I don't think there's any way around it though - if the Bears are moving off Cutler, they have to draft a QB early next year (1st or 2nd round) and give them the reins. You have to look at it through Fox lenses though. He knows he needs to win next season, and after all the crap that happened this year with Hoyer basically taking the job from Cutler until he broke his arm, I imagine Cutler probably is pretty salty about it because thats how he is. Fox knows someone like Romo is gonna come in and want to show he still has it, and it pretty much fits the mold of what Fox has done over his career, get a seasoned vet(delhomme was basically plug and play, and then there was Manning) who knows what he is doing and let the defense rampage. I think there is a lot of Cutler fatigue and everyone probably wants to go their own separate ways.

Its like he is just running with the theory "they cant fire us all!"

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) The early reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Apparently the reshoots didn't tone it down. Lots of twists that haven't been spoiled. Lots of Vader. Kevin Smith (Yeah, I know) is saying it's on par with Empire. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a film. About this time last year, I was this excited lol

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) Who's the better coach: Fisher or Trestman? Say what you want about Fisher's extended history of being mediocre, but that guy got to a superbowl. Trestman's ears are still ringing from those back to back 50 burgers against the Packers and NE
-
Once that Fisher extension got announced, he immediately started saying that he didnt have players and basically called out his GM. And now, he has no job, and nobody is surprised. But at least he can say he didnt go 7-9

Uh oh, Schefter and LaCanfora gonna brawl over rumors
-
Rumors going around today that Bill Polian is looking to get back in a FO position, and the Bears are reportedly interested in the name of restructuring and possibly removing Phillips from football decision power (ie. Polian takes on some sort of president of football ops type job) Rex Ryan might also be getting the ax today

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Naw, no chance he gets a big deal. I wish we'd have given him two years though would have been nice to cut Hoyer. ? Are you talking about cutting Hoyer in this past preseason?

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 08:53 AM) I really only watch the Bears and the playoffs so I am not all that up on the career of Matt Barkley (I don't play fantasy football either) but I found it odd he had never started a game before coming to the Bears. I know he was super-hyped going into USC and didn't live up to those expectations. He certainly looks serviceable. He caught the brunt of the USC fallout from Pete Carroll/Reggie Bush etc, so USC was kind of a mess when he was there. And then in his senior year Anthony Barr destroyed his shoulder at the end of the year and he wasnt able to throw at the combine
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 07:42 AM) Do you guys think Bears sign Barkley and he starts next year when the Bears draft the QB of the future? I think he has at the very least played himself into placeholder position next season. Barkley hasnt been perfect but he has been way better than i thought he would be. I was expecting shades of Krenzel, and i am seeing a lot closer to Hoyer

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) Hold up, there are s***ty people on the internet? NO WAY. Just today a dude that got a Cowboys Superbowl Champs tattoo got death threats over the internet. People are awful when given an anonymous platform. We've known this for years. people are even more awful when they are in a position of power and are able to influence anonymous people on an anonymous platform and then claim they didnt say that

QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Enjoy it, once these trades are all made, we're going to have nothing to do but pray these guys pan out. as opposed to praying that everyone who was signed over the offseason finds the fountain of youth and is able to recreate their career season
